Abstract: A memory array includes (a) multiple memory cells arranged into a plurality of bytes, (b) a separate word line connected to each byte, and (b) multiple shared source lines, each connected to at least two bytes, such that each byte in the array is addressable by a separate word line and by the shared source line. Due to this memory array architecture, a program operation on a first byte applies a shared source line voltage on a non-selected second byte (with an inhibit voltage applied to bit lines connected to the second byte), which creates a disturb condition that corresponds with a diagonal (or row) program disturb condition in a conventional memory array. The use of the shared source lines may reduce the required number of source line drivers, which reduces the overhead area of the memory array, and at same time, allow backward compatibility of traditional byte-alterable EEPROM.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to compressing genetic sequencing data. In many embodiments, the genetic sequencing data is reordered and encoded based on sequence homology between individual sequencing reads within the genetic sequencing data. Several embodiments are directed to systems to compress genetic sequencing data, and some embodiments are directed to non-transitory, machine-readable media that direct a processor to compress genetic sequencing data. In further embodiments, the genetic sequencing data represents paired-end sequencing data, and several embodiments transmit the data to a remote device.

Abstract: The invention provides tools and methods for improving the quality and efficiency of clinical trials, including designing clinical trials that do not require a placebo group. In one aspect, the invention provides a method of identifying placebo responders. In another aspect, the invention provides a method for calculating and/or estimating a placebo risk score for one or more individual subjects. In yet another aspect, the invention provides a method for adjusting results of a clinical trial by removing the placebo responders and/or the portion of their response attributable to placebo effect. In an additional aspect, the invention provides a method of measuring the response of an individual to treatment that is not attributable to placebo effect.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring models for bias. In one implementation, a system for automatically assessing a deployed model for selection of a cohort may include a processing device programmed to: apply the deployed model to data representing a first plurality of individuals, the data including at least one characteristic of the first plurality of individuals; based on the application, select a subset of the first plurality of individuals as a cohort; receive data representing a second plurality of individuals labeled as within the cohort, the data including the at least one characteristic of the second plurality of individuals; compare the selected subset and the second plurality of individuals along the at least one characteristic; and determine whether the comparison results in a difference between the selected subset and the second plurality of individuals greater than a threshold.

A plurality of sensors are adapted to: (i) probe an environment in which the companion robot and user is disposed and generate data in respect of the environment; and sense information about the user and generate data containing the information. A communication means communicates: (i) sensorially perceptive information to the user; and (ii) data containing information to a remote processing means. A processing means: (i) receives data from the sensors; (ii) processes the data to extract information therefrom and perform prescribed functions with the information; and (iii) provides output information and data to the communication means.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for selecting an acquisition parameter for an imaging system. The acquisition parameter at least in part defines an imaging configuration of the imaging system during an imaging procedure with a patient. A depth-related map is accessed which is generated on the basis of sensor data from a camera system, wherein the camera system has a field of view which includes at least part of a field of view of the imaging system, wherein the sensor data is obtained before the imaging procedure with the patient and indicative of a distance that parts of the patient's exterior have towards the camera system. A machine learning algorithm is applied to the depth-related map to identify the acquisition parameter, which may be provided to the imaging system.
