Abstract: A drive assembly includes a housing, upper and lower shafts, a friction pack, and a pair of meshed gears. The housing defines a receptacle containing a volume of lubricating fluid, a brake chamber with a metering orifice in a lower portion of the brake chamber, and an exit port at an upper portion of the brake chamber. The upper and lower shafts are within the housing at different elevations and configured for rotation. The friction pack is within the brake chamber and driven to rotate by the upper shaft. The pair of meshed gears is driven to rotate by one or more of the upper and lower shafts, and the gears communicate lubricating fluid from the receptacle to the lower portion of the brake chamber through the metering orifice. Rotation of the friction pack pumps lubricating fluid to the exit port at the upper portion of the brake chamber.

Abstract: In a drive unit which has an axial piston pump and an electronic control unit, the axial piston pump is pivoted with a method in which pressure-reducing valves which act in opposition to one another are suddenly energized. Since in this respect no orifices are provided in the adjustment device, a so-called initiation jump of the excited current gives rise to a sudden reduction in the assigned actuating pressure or the actuating pressure difference formed therefrom. Then, a zero crossover jump of the excited current or of the excited currents is carried out in order to overcome the centering spring and therefore ensure a continuous zero crossover of the axial piston pump. Furthermore, a hydrostatic traction drive includes such a drive unit.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a metal strip winding continuous reinforced thermoplastic composite pipe. The present invention adopts a method designed for grouping the winding metal strips to rationally distribute the winding mode of the metal strips, and at the same time, increases the hoop strength and axial strength of the pipe by using the feature of high strength of the metal strips, thereby improving the compressive capacity of the pipe; there is no bonding between the metal strip reinforcement layers, which improves the flexibility of the composite pipe and reduces the relative slippage between the metal strip layers; the production process is simple, and requirements for the equipment investment are small, thereby greatly reducing the manufacturing cost and ensuring the flexibility and seismic resistance of the pipeline.

Abstract: A composite metal and polymer pipe coupling is provided. Embodiments include a coupling having a metal pipe body, and a rigid polymer liner affixed to and completely covering an inside surface of the pipe body. Opposite ends of the liner each have a circumferential raised end section extending toward a longitudinal axis of the pipe body. The liner also has a circumferential pipe buttress near a middle of the liner extending toward the longitudinal axis. An elastomeric gasket engages the liner adjacent an interior side of each of the raised end sections of the liner. The raised end sections are each configured to receive and hold the end of a pipe centered relative to the pipe body, such that its corresponding gasket seals the pipe end around an entire circumference of the pipe end when the pipe is inserted into the coupling until it contacts the pipe buttress.

Abstract: A method and means for repairing the junction of a main and lateral pipe are provided. A repair assembly includes a launcher device, a bladder assembly surrounding the launcher device, and a liner assembly surrounding the bladder assembly. The bladder assembly is frangibly connected to the launcher device to maintain the position of the bladder assembly relative to the launcher device during transport and positioning of the assembly. Likewise, the liner assembly, which includes main and lateral liner members, is frangibly connected to the bladder assembly. The frangible connections allow the position of the repair assembly to be maintained. The frangible connections can be broken, such as by inflation and/or tearing or pulling apart of the components of the repair assembly. Thus, the invention provides a way to mitigate the movement of components of the repair assembly during transport and positioning of the repair assembly.
