Abstract: The present invention relates to diagnostic and prognostic methods and kits for assessing chronic inflammation and associated immune-suppression. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of SNX9 (sorting nexin 9 protein) as a biomarker for chronic inflammation and associated immune-suppression, specifically, in subjects suffering from chronic inflammatory conditions. The invention further provides a prognostic tool for detecting regression or recurrence of the diseases and a powerful tool for assessing efficacy of a treatment. The present invention further provides SNX9 as an immunomodulator and therefore relates to methods for treating immune-related disorders by modulating SNX9 expression.

The pin validation system detects a presence of an electrical signal passing between corresponding pairs of the first plurality of contact members and the second plurality of contact members to determine an integrity of the compliant pin.

Abstract: A secure distance protection for electric power delivery systems under transient conditions is disclosed herein. Upon detection of a transient condition, additional security is added to a distance protection element before a protective action is taken. The transient condition may be detected when an angle of advancement of an operating signal is outside of a predetermined threshold. An unsecure condition may also be detected before applying additional security. The unsecure condition may be detected based on an estimation of a fault within a close-in zone and a voltage magnitude falling below a threshold.

Abstract: In a method to measure changes of the pair of differential transmission lines, an in-phase signal is generated by combining first and second signals transmitted through the pair of differential transmission lines, a phase of the second signal being opposite to the first signal. In a transmission line diagnostic device, a signal combiner extracts the first and second signals received by a communication unit, combines the extracted those signals, and generates an in-phase signal, a detector detects the generated in-phase signal, and a determination unit determines an error when a magnitude of the detected in-phase signal is equal to or greater than a threshold value. In a liquid level detection device, a combining unit combines the first and second signals and generate an in-phase signal, a detection unit detects a voltage of the generated in-phase signal, and a calculation unit calculates a liquid level from the detected voltage.

Abstract: A test assembly includes multiple circuit boards. Each board includes multiple pairs of contacts configurable to address the respective circuit board, an instrument, first and second headers at opposing edges of the respective board. Each pin of a first header electrically connects through the board to a corresponding pin of a second header. Each board includes first and second input/output (I/O) terminals at opposing edges of the respective board, the first I/O terminal electrically connects through the board to the second I/O terminal. A relay on the board permits the board's instrument to be activated. Each of the circuit boards mechanically and electrically connects to another circuit board through a jumper cable connecting the first header of one circuit board to the second header of another circuit board and through a conductive member electrically connecting the first I/O terminal of one board to the second I/O terminal of another board.
