Abstract: A bubble generating device that includes a housing having an outer surface and a motor and fan device positioned in the housing. The fan device may be operably coupled to the motor so that the motor, when activated, causes the fan device to rotate to generate an upward air stream within the housing. The bubble generating device may also include a trough for containing bubble solution and a spout protruding beyond the outer surface of the housing and configured such that bubble solution fed into the spout flows into the trough. A bubble generating assembly may be operably coupled to the motor, so that when the motor is activated the motor causes bubble generating members of the bubble generating assembly to move into contact with the bubble solution in the trough and then into alignment with the upward air stream to generate bubbles from the bubble solution.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus is used with a slug catcher for a pipeline upstream of a process. An inlet of the catcher separates liquid and gas of the flow, and a gas outlet outputs the gas. Tubes of the catcher extend below the inlet to collect the liquid in a liquid outlet for output to the process. An actuator of the apparatus has a mover disposed internal to a portion of the liquid outlet. Movable with the actuator, the mover moves any debris relative to at least one outlet port of the liquid outlet. For example, a motor can rotate a feed screw in a sludge manifold to move a paddle for scrubbing debris to an outlet in the manifold. Abstract: The present disclosure discloses the concept and expression method of an energy efficiency index (EEI) COPCO2 for a carbon-capture system. The COPCO2 refers to the ratio of the gain during a carbon-capture process to the cost practically, and to the ratio of the increase of CO2 chemical potential resulting from enrichment to the driving work input into the carbon-capture system physically. By introducing the concept of environmental effective state (G state), the present disclosure quantifies the “gain” during a carbon-capture process, and compares the “gain” with the “cost” to obtain the COPCO2 expression method of coefficient of performance (COP) during the carbon-capture process, which provides more accurate evaluation for the energy utilization level during a carbon-capture process and is conducive to improving the energy utilization level by carbon-capture technology, thereby improving the energy utilization rate.

Abstract: A promoted activated carbon sorbent is described that is highly effective for the removal of mercury from flue gas streams. The sorbent comprises a new modified carbon form containing reactive forms of halogen and halides. Optional components may be added to increase reactivity and mercury capacity. These may be added directly with the sorbent, or to the flue gas to enhance sorbent performance and/or mercury capture. Mercury removal efficiencies obtained exceed conventional methods. The sorbent can be regenerated and reused. Sorbent treatment and preparation methods are also described. New methods for in-flight preparation, introduction, and control of the active sorbent into the mercury contaminated gas stream are described.
