The aerosol delivery device includes power harvesting circuitry configured to receive RF energy from an external RF source and harvest power from the RF energy to charge a rechargeable power source and power transmission circuity operatively coupled to the power source and configured to convert electrical energy drawn from the power source to RF energy and transmit the RF energy. RF energy can thus be transmitted through a network of aerosol delivery devices to extend the range of an RF energy source.

Abstract: A face mask is made from five layers of surgical drape, synthetic filtration material having a bacterial filtration effective of 95% and a synthetic MERV-13 filtration material. The five layers are folded and cut on each side at approximately 45 degrees. Front folds provide a pocket for air exchange in the front area of the face mask. Edge folds provide a border and hold a memory strip in place over wearer's nose. The 45 degree sides are sewed together with a border, plus attaching ends of two bungee strips thereto. The first bungee strip extends to the neck area below the head of the wearer and, with a first bungee lock, pulls the face mask into the nose. The second bungee cord strip extends to the top rear of head of the wearer and, with a second bungee lock, pulls the mask under the chin. By pressing the memory strip and tightening the bungee locks, a tight fit is provided on the face mask to the wearer.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a protective face mask to protect medical personnel by filtering exhaled air of infectious patients is disclosed. The protective face mask comprises a first layer, a second layer and a third layer. The second layer comprises a molecular sieve desiccant. The molecular sieve desiccant is between 0.1 cm and 10 cm thick.

Abstract: This invention introduces a compact, power efficient sterilizer face mask combining multiple technologies to effectively stop the spread of airborne microbial diseases, bacteria, and viruses. The geometrical design of the system allows for a longer air-flow pathway inside the optical box to increase the exposure time. An electrostatic or ionizing structure, traps the bacteria and viruses and slows down their movement inside the mask, significantly increasing the light exposure time. In addition, the air can flow through thermal (heating or cooling) engines and sonic or ultrasonic exposure engines for increasing the whole system's effectiveness. The UV exposure unit, the electrostatic unit, the thermal unit, and the sonic/ultrasonic unit can be smartly activated or deactivated using an air flowmeter that significantly reduces the power consumption of the system and its generated heat.

In the parts of the mask corresponding to the wearer's nostrils and/or mouth, the protective mask may have pre-formed holes; a transparent or translucent membrane with pre-formed holes; or a transparent or translucent membrane that can be punctured and/or traversed by a probe, scope, instrument, or device. A probe, scope, instrument, or device that punctures and/or traverses the facepiece forms a tight juncture with the facepiece or translucent membrane of the facepiece, which prevents the transmission of pathogens.

The face shield includes a central cavity, which is defined by a front wall and one or more sidewalls extending outwardly from a perimeter of the front wall. The central cavity is configured for surrounding a nasal region, an oral region, and a mental region of an adult person's face. The face shield includes one or more attachment features extending outwardly from the central cavity and configured for attaching the face shield to the phoropter. A method for securing a face shield including attachment features and a central cavity defining an upper cavity region, a middle cavity region, and a lower cavity region to a phoropter is described. The method includes positioning the upper cavity region between lens housings of the phoropter and attaching the attachment features to securing components of the phoropter.

The outer foam layer defines an outer layer foam density and is configured with holes to allow liquid to penetrate to the middle foam layer. The middle layer foam density is less than the outer layer foam density. A corresponding method of manufacturing is also provided.

Abstract: Novel face masks are disclosed herein that blend required functionality of preventing the spread of communicable diseases with desirable and pleasing features that increase the acceptance of and desire to wear such face masks. The masks include an outer surface, a securing mechanism extending from the outer surface, and filtering media located underneath the outer surface. The securing mechanism can be pairs of ear straps or ear loops positioned over the user's ears to secure the face mask to the user's face. In another embodiment, the securing mechanism can be a pair of side bands that wrap around the user's head and fasten together at the back of the user's head to secure the face mask to user's face. When the face mask is secured to the user's face, the filtering media engages the face of a user to seal the user's mouth and nose from the surrounding environment.

Abstract: A foot orthotic designed to unweight the ball of the foot, or more precisely the foot region of one or more of the five metatarsal heads, to alleviate pain while walking or standing. Using a connector from the foot orthotic to a sulcus bar provides a reproduceable front to back position of the sulcus bar relative to the foot orthotic. In certain aspects of the invention the connector provides further unweighting of the metatarsal heads, and also ensures a specific custom position of the sulcus bar throughout the foot orthotic fabrication process. Various methods of manufacturing an orthotic are also disclosed.

For example, the perimeter chamber may be spaced from the central chamber and the perimeter section may be spaced from the central section to define a gap extending upward and into the sole structure from the lower surface.

The elastic correction band has a massage area on an outer surface of the hallux and massage bumps on the massage area. Both ends of the elastic correction band have a fixed part on the inner side of the vamp, and the fixed part at the lower end of the elastic correction band is installed to the top of the sole. The massage area of the elastic correction band can massage the trigeminal nerve acupoints on the inner side of the hallux to achieve the effect of relieving migraine. In addition, the elastic correction band can correct the hallux valgus and provide a certain buffering effect by its elasticity.
