    Abstract: An FEC coder in a transmission device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure performs BCH coding and LDPC coding based on whether a code length of the LDPC coding is a 16k mode or a 64k mode. A mapper performs mapping in an I-Q coordinate to perform conversion into an FEC block, and outputs pieces of mapping data (cells). The mapper defines different non-uniform mapping patterns with respect to different code lengths even an identical coding rate is used by the FEC coder. This configuration improves a shaping gain for different error correction code lengths in a transmission technology in which modulation of the non-uniform mapping pattern is used.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes mechanisms for performing rate matching in low-density parity check (LPDC) codes in a wireless network. A device may generate an Aggregated Media Access (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (AMPDU) payload having an AMPDU payload size associated with a number of bits. The device may omit pre-Forward Error Correction (FEC) padding of the AMPDU payload at a MAC layer by indicating the AMPDU payload size in a physical layer (PHY)-specific preamble. The device may then generate the PHY-specific preamble comprising the AMPDU payload size without the pre-FEC padding. The device may also calculate a number of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols for containing the number of bits and transmit the PHY-specific preamble and the number of OFDM symbols to a station device.

    Abstract: A base station may transmit one or more reference signals to a user equipment (UE) to measure. However, the base station is typically limited to configuring one downlink reference signal per antenna panel of the UE. This can reduce network efficiency because the base station has to switch downlink reference signals in order to switch antenna panels. Techniques and apparatuses described herein allow a UE to transmit a report that includes a plurality of measurements of a downlink reference signal corresponding to a plurality of antenna panels and/or to transmit a report that includes one or more measurements of a plurality of downlink reference signals from an antenna panel. The base station may therefore map a downlink reference signal to a plurality of antenna panels of the UE. Accordingly, the base station is able to switch antenna panels without switching downlink reference signals.
