Abstract: The solid content contains a resin component (A) and a filler (B). The resin component (A) includes at least one of a fluorine-containing copolymer (a1) or a silicon-containing copolymer (a2). The fluorine-containing copolymer (a1) includes a fluorine-containing segment and an acrylic segment containing no fluorine or silicon. The silicon-containing copolymer (a2) includes a silicon-containing segment and an acrylic segment containing no fluorine or silicon. The filler (B) has a mean particle size falling within a range from 10 nm to 200 nm.
Abstract: Provided is a filler that has a low viscosity when mixed in a resin material and has reduced permittivity and dielectric loss tangent. The filler includes: a metal oxide particle material; and a polyorganosiloxane compound with which a surface treatment is performed on the metal oxide particle material and which is represented by general formula (1): (RO)3Si—(SiR2—O—)n—SiR3 (in general formula (1), each R is independently selected from among alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n is not less than 10 and not greater than 200). A resin composition obtained by containing the filler in a resin is suitable for an electronic material.

Abstract: This disclosure concerns embodiments of an annealing device and a method for annealing flowable, finely divided solids, such as annealing granular silicon to reduce a hydrogen content of the granular silicon. The annealing device comprises at least one tube through which flowable, finely divided solids are flowed downwardly. The tube includes a heating zone and (i) a residence zone below the heating zone, (ii) a cooling zone below the heating zone, or (iii) a residence zone below the heating zone and a cooling zone below the residence zone. An inert gas is flowed upwardly through the tube. The tube may be constructed from two or more tube segments. The annealing device may include a plurality of tubes arranged and housed within a shell. The annealing device and method are suitable for a continuous process.

Abstract: An angle-dependent interference pigment based on transparent or translucent inorganic flake serving as a substrate is provided. The substrate is coated by coatings (A)+(B)+(C) and optionally coating (D), so as to form a “high-low-high” refractive index layered structure. The coatings (A) and (C) consist of metal oxides, silicate, aluminates and/or a mixture thereof. The angle-dependent interference pigments have high color saturation in the transitional region and a significantly gradual color change in the color changing region. The pigment of the present invention is particularly used in the cosmetic industry which has a very high requirement on gradual color change.

Abstract: Disclosed are a functional reinforcing filler including inorganic particles surface-modified with an alkenylsilanol obtained by hydrolyzing an alkenylalkoxysilane compound, and a method for preparing the same. Since the disclosed functional reinforcing filler has a functional group having a double bond, it has good reactivity for styrene-butadiene rubber and sulfur. Thus, when used as a functional reinforcing filler in the manufacture of rubber, it allows improvement of physical properties through adjustment of the addition amount of sulfur without additional use of the coupling agent. In addition, because of superior hydrolysis reactivity, the problem of alcohol can be solved and a rubber mixture with long scorch time can be prepared. In particular, when the functional reinforcing filler of the present invention is used in the manufacture of tires, improvement in modulus, tensile strength, rotational resistance and wet traction performance can be expected.

Abstract: A dry product that permanently removes oil and oil stains from liquid or dry surfaces and is environmentally safe. The dry product is formed by mixing efficacious proportions of untreated amorphous silica with a dry, inert organic, inorganic or synthetic carrier, or combinations of said carriers. Abstract: Provided herein are compositions for coatings that repel dust. The compositions comprise colloidal silica suspended in a low molecular weight alcohol, one or more hard nanoparticles, a fluoride source, and one or more combustible organic compounds. Methods of preparing a coating from the compositions are also provided herein.

Abstract: The invention relates to a composition for the hydrophobization, preferably the mass hydrophobization, of inorganic building materials, in particular substantially non-siliceous building materials containing inorganic alkali metals and/or alkaline earth metals, comprising at least one water-soluble amino- and alkyl-functional co-condensate siloxane and a bis(alkoxysilyl)amine, as well as to the hydrolysis products thereof, to a method for producing said composition, and also to the use of the composition for mass-hydrophobization, preferably of gypsum.
