  • Patent number: 5199412
Abstract: A production facility for the mechanized fabrication of masonry includes a turnover table (6) which receives a plurality of building stones (12) intended for a building-stone course of a wall that is to be produced. The turnover table (6) secures the building stones (12) in place, pivots them together about a horizontal axis (4) running at a distance parallel to the wall (1) to be produced, and transposes them with the top side down. The turnover table (6) can be loaded quickly by a belt (9) and another turnover table (7) for transposing the building-stone course in one piece from the conveyor belt (9) to the other turnover table (6). As a result of the increased output thus effected, the production facility can be integrated into a factory having a plurality of finishing stations for further production stages.

Abstract: A portable wire saw for cutting materials such as stone, concrete, asphalt and the like such as highway lane barriers. The portable wire saw includes a frame having a base on which is mounted a power source. Attached to the base is a plurality of wheels for easy portable movement of the wire saw. At least one of the wheels also provides a pivot point for the frame so that the wire saw can be pivoted between a cutting position and a non-cutting position. The power source drives a wire saw blade carried on a triangular support structure consisting of two pulleys and a drive wheel. The drive wheel is operably connected to the power source. The position of the pulleys is capable of being adjusted relative to the drive wheel. In a preferred embodiment the triangular support structure is arranged in a vertical orientation with the upper pulley functioning to keep the return path of the wire saw blade from having to pass through the material being cut.

  • Patent number: 4653361
Abstract: The slicing machine has a mounting table carrying the workpiece to be sliced by the cutting blade. The mounting table is supported on an elastically deformable measuring plate of which the deformation is measured by a measuring transducer in a position as near as possible to the plane of the cutting blade wherein the cutting force is acting. The measuring transducer has very high sensitivity in order to detect deformations in the order of fractions of a .mu.m and is thus able to properly detect the value of the cutting force. The measuring system is spaced from the cutting blade and workpiece and does not hinder manipulation and accurate fine adjustment of the workpiece. On the other hand the accuracy of the measurement does not depend on the manner in which the workpiece is mounted. Preferably deflection of the cutting blade from its plane under the influence of the cutting force is also detected and an optimum control and supervision of the cutting process may be effected based on both measurements.

  • Patent number: 4557245
Abstract: A concrete cutting or milling apparatus has a milling head carrying a power driven circular saw blade or milling cutter movable along a guide rail having a plurality of guide rail sections that may be coupled to each other in the longitudinal direction. The guide rail sections are supported by a foot structure that can be screwed to a concrete member, such as a wall or floor, to be cut. The foot structure is releasably secured to the guide rails however in a torsion stiff manner. Further, the foot structure is provided with adjustment screws for the proper axial alignment of the guide rail sections relative to each other to provide for a correction of the rail position and for compensating an uneveness in the surface of the concrete member to be cut. The structure is lightweight and one operator can secure the rail sections to a concrete surface. The rail sections form a closed cross-sectional tubular shape which may be round or substantially box shaped.
