Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable trolley barbecue, which is built up to form a trolley barbecue with some table plates provided for allocation of certain articles thereon, and which is collapsed to become a portable configuration for carriage and storage. By way of two lateral curved frames arranged at both sides by slip joint to lock up the base of the oven at the time the component parts been arranged inside the base. The two curved frames are pushed outward to provide a respective handle for hands to push and pull, and for a table plate to place thereon. Four pieces of stands are collapsibly arranged at the four corners of the base of the oven, with one pair of the stands respectively connected with a wheel. A cover plate provided to cover the base of the oven at the time the oven is collapsed, is separated from the oven and connected with the four stands by releasable joints to provide a place below the base of the trolley barbecue for certain articles to arrange thereon.

Abstract: In order to more easily handle a portable grill, fuel pans which can be supported in either horizontal position or vertical position are provided with removable grates which will confine charcoal briquettes within the fuel pan whether it is horizontal or vertical. The grate is slidable into and out of the "down" end of the fuel pan when vertical and, when installed, the grate does not extend to the "up" end of the fuel pan thus to provide space where fresh briquettes can be added. U-shape legs which snap into and hold an operable condition supporting the grill off the ground and which snap into a stowed condition parallel with the rest of the grill when the grill is not in use are provided. A stop is provided to assist in holding the fuel pan in its upright position while it is being clamped in place.

Abstract: A cooking unit has a frame or a bowl-shaped vessel. Supported by the frame or bowl-shaped vessel is a horizontal support with a center opening therethrough. A firebox vessel with an open top depends from the horizontal support and is disposed in the center opening of the horizontal support. A fire grate on which fuel elements are seated is disposed in the firebox vessel below the center opening of the horizontal support. A cooking grill is disposed over the center opening of the horizontal support. Combustion air enters the firebox vessel through an opening above the fire grate other than the open top of the firebox vessel to supply combustion air to the burning fuel elements. The interior of the firebox vessel reflects the heat produced by the fuel elements toward the food on the cooking grill.

Abstract: Portable barbecue assemblies capable of being folded into attache type carrying case configuration, particularly a barbecue grill assembly capable of baking smoking and grilling in the assembled mode and in the disassembled mode capable of being formed into an attache case configuration of convenient carrying. The unit is characterized by its highly rigidized assembly, its dual baking and grilling capabilities, as well as the adjustability of its top cover as windshield, a shelf or a baking oven closure, as well as the adjustability of the interior grates for varying types of grilling and cooking.

Abstract: An outdoor cooking unit in which a bendable, disposable and non-combustible member is employed. The member is formed with a closed bottom and upstanding panels to form an inverted, truncated, pyramidal configuration with an open top. A fuel element is disposed within the member.

Abstract: A smokestack including an elongated tube means having an open bottom end for receiving smoke emanating from a campfire and an open top end for releasing the smoke into the atmosphere, and a base for supporting the tube means with its open bottom end directly above the campfire and defining openings that provide physical and visual access thereto. The elongated tube comprises a plurality of tube sections distributed along a longitudinal axis and having ends joined to form a composite tube.

Abstract: The present invention provides an expansion sleeve for a gas barbecue of the type comprising a grill supporting base and a cover removably supportable thereon, the cover having lower edges seatably engaging upper edges of the base when supported thereon and in closed position. The sleeve has vertical walls defining a cross-sectional horizontal shape which conforms to the shape of these edges of the base and cover of the barbecue. The walls have spaced parallel upper and lower edges, the lower edges being provided with means to releasably seat the sleeve on the upper edges of the base and the upper edges arranged to seatably receive the cover. The sleeve, when in position on the base of the barbecue with the barbecue cover is seatably received on the upper edges of the sleeve provides an expanded cooking chamber for the barbecue.

Abstract: The elevated, open-topped housing of a solid fuel-burning barbecue grille is provided with a hinged top lid and upper and lower swing-out doors which respectively carry horizontally disposed food and solid fuel-supporting grate structures that are moved out of and into the housing interior, through framed housing side wall openings, as the doors are opened and closed, thereby permitting food items to be placed on the upper grate, and charcoal to be placed on the lower grate, externally of the housing and without lifting the housing lid. To prevent cooking heat escape from the housing interior when the upper door is opened, a hinged flap automatically pivots downwardly to cover the upper door opening when the upper door is opened. When the upper door is closed, an interior tab member theaid vent pipe in a selected one of said open and closed positions thereof.

Abstract: A multi-purpose support frame for supporting a cooking grill in an elevated position. The support frame comprises a support base with a support rod secured to the base and extending vertically above an end of the base. A support arm is secured to the rod and extends above and over the support base. The support arm has spaced-apart attachment elements for engaging cooperating parts of the grill for retaining the grill substantially horizontally above the support base. The grill is adjustably position in height above the support base by an adjustment member secured to the support rod. A handle is associated with the grill.

Abstract: A portable campfire cooker formed of metal walls, posts, grills and other parts, easily assembled and disassembled, providing a rigid and safe fire box. Cylindrical posts lock together interconnecting walls, which walls reciprocably support these posts against inadvertent displacement. Grill supports and pot supports are rotatably mounted on these posts in a secure arrangement. Spit members are similarly mounted onto these posts. Grill, pot and spit members are released by merely lifting from these posts. The walls can be of selected unit lengths to form polygonal shaped fire boxes of symmetrical or non-symmetrical configurations.

Abstract: A fire grate is formed with a slot configured to receive a narrow dimensioned section of a briquette. The walls surrounding the slot support the briquette in vertical orientation with the narrow dimensioned section of the briquette extending upwardly. Combustion air or gas flows through the slot for exposing the briquette to the combustion air or gas.

Abstract: A portable cooking grill device is formed from two vertical posts removably attached to the upturned ends of a U-shaped base. The cooking surface of the device is a grill having a rod attached along its rear edge, and a plurality of parallel rods extending perpendicular thereto from front to back of the grill. Two braces attached to the grill extend diagonally downward and rearward from the grill. The vertical posts pass through the grill between adjacent parallel rods. The grill is held in place with respect to the vertical posts and base by the rod attached along the rear edge of the grill which seats against the back of the vertical posts, and by the distal ends of the diagonal braces being seated against the front of the vertical posts. A number of horizontal ribs may be spaced along the length of the vertical posts to provide better support for the braces.

Abstract: A portable field stove is adapted to assume a collapsed configuration for storage and a set-up configuration for supporting a utensil above a portable heat source. The stove includes self-locking features that wedge a bottom plate against a shoulder and against a front plate to lock the stove into the set-up configuration. The stove also includes cutouts, openings and holes which are arranged and configured to permit only the proper amount of air to flow into the stove and to direct that air so that it does not flow across the heat source. The cutouts, openings and holes are also arranged to establish an air flow pattern through the stove that efficiently uses the heat generated by the heat source. The stove can also be used in an inverted orientation.

Abstract: A meat-grilling device consists of an open metal box and a throw-away fuel pack enclosed in a closed box of wire netting for insertion into the metal box, the top of the wire netting serving as grid. The fuel pack comprises three superposed layers: an uppermost layer of charcoal lumps, an intermediate layer of paraffin-soaked wood shavings, and a lowermost layer of igniter material in the form of crossing paper strips covered with a rapid-igniting material. Two long side walls of the metal box are perforated by air openings which, during transport, are covered by four flat legs. The legs are swivelled into vertical position during grilling so as to distance the box bottom from the ground. The fuel is lighted by a match put through an air opening to the igniter material, which ignites the wood shavings over the entire pack area, and which, in turn, lights the charcoal. The wood shavings are consumed rapidly causing the charcoal layer to drop down remote from the grid, preventing scorching of the meat.

Abstract: The components of a collapsible grill are retained together for stowage by a concaved clip that straddles the nested supports and engages the food-contacting members on the abutting grill sections. The clip has a pair of diverging legs that each terminates in a flange. One clip flange engages a food-contacting member on the grill section opposite the supports to retain the grill sections together. The other clip flange may engage a food-contacting member on either of the grill sections.

Abstract: A portable cooking device having a centrally disposed burner, with utensil support members having short horizontal arms to hold small cooking utensils above the burner as well as having a shoulder configuration to hold a large pot. A removable annular retaining ring encircles the pot to prevent it from sliding. The burner has channels in the inner wall of the burner body to provide better burning of the fuel mixture.

Abstract: A rotisserie accessory is provided for use with a cooking appliance having an airflow grill. Locking apparatus prevents rotational operation of a spit portion when the rotisserie accessory is improperly positioned on the cooking appliance.

Abstract: A method and system of enhancing the efficiency of barbecue grill systems which comprises the placement of an apparatus in a barbecue grill system above the bed which hold charcoal, but below the grill upon which food is placed for cooking. The apparatus is constructed from materials which are not subject to easy degradation by heat produced by burning charcoal and comprises a system of a frame into which are pivotally mounted a multiplicity of louvers, which louvers are divided into multiple separate groups. The louvers in each group are interconnected by a linkage mechanism which allows an operator to control the angle at which the louvers are set, said angle being continuously variable between verticle and essentially horizontal. The direct access of the heat produced by burning charcoal to the grill is, hence, subject to control by an operator. Such control allows optimizing the heat presented to food cooking on a grill, as well as allow the extinguishing of flare-ups.

Abstract: This invention provides a portable barbeque having a base and a lid hinged to one another. A pair of allochiral feet are hinged to the bottom of the base and are arranged to lock to the base when deployed to support the base so that there is little likelihood of upsetting the structure. After use, the lid is closed and the feed can be dislodged and folded over the lid to hold the lid closed against the base and to store the feet. This invention also provides a base and a lid and a heat source contained in the base with grill support means inside the base. A shelf is supported in the base and has dividers between sections of the shelf to restrain movement of inert cinders placed on the shelf. A grill also supported by the base is spaced from the shelf such that the cinders are retained by the grill on the shelf should the housing be tilted or turned upside-down.

The fire bowl may be used with the tripod and grill or the smoker. An additional grill for the tripod and grill structure may be used. Several forms of adjustable stable grill supports are disclosed. The fire bowl includes a surrounding concentric ring structure for support of articles and for safety. The grill may be rotated by a suitable motor. The smoker includes a protected water pan structure and may have several grills rotated by a motor. Accessory items include a wind screen, cutting board and solid or mesh cooking segments placed on the grill. The legs of the tripod and grill structure may be received in a ground supported ring. A cover may be provided for the fire bowl to smother a fire in the bowl and provide a protective rain shield.

Abstract: A barbecue apparatus having a vertical central post removably attached to a laterally extending base and having a plurality of vertically and radially offset transverse openings into which the ends of skewers laden with food may be inserted to position the skewers at the desired height. An auxiliary grill, fire pan, steam pan and smoker dome are provided, all of which are adjustably supported on the central post.

Abstract: The invention relates to a collapsible smoking box for smoking meat and fish in particular. The physical size of known smoking boxes is fixed and, accordingly, does not depend on the quantity of the products contained in the box to be smoked therein. Quite a large empty space of no use may be thus formed in the smoking space. In order to solve this problem, the smoking box according to the invention is formed by a plurality of separate modules to be piled up on upon another, which modules are equal in structure with the exception of the bottom of the lowest module.

Abstract: A holder for retaining refractory materials with adjustable upper and lower trays, which accommodate and hold securely therebetween the refractory materials. The holder comprises a lower tray having an open bottom mesh, and an upper tray with an open top mesh. The upper tray is telescopically received by the lower tray. Adjustable spacing between the upper and lower tray provides for secure retention of a uniformly distributed layer of radiant refractory material, thus offering a relatively constant dissipation of heat. The adjustable feature is provided by the accommodation of fasteners which extend generally horizontally from the side of the lower tray within vertical slots which are defined within the side walls of the top tray. The holder also provides a convenient means for cleaning the refractory materials after they have become soiled in use.

Abstract: A portable charcoal-heated cooking system for mounting to the coaming of a pick-up truck bed has a steam chamber and a grill chamber, each partly defined by a multiple flat-plate-reflection housing structure that in the grill chamber evens-out radiant heating between the grill edges and central portion. The housing structure also reduces volume necessary for a given cooking requirement. Rain shedding and liquid drainage provisions keep the system ready for use.

Abstract: A barbecue grill combined with a fire retarding screen suspended in vertically spaced relation to a bed of coals and below the cooking grill for barbecuing and smoking meats and vegetables placed on the grill. The fire retarding screen includes metal wire woven to form a mesh with small openings to retard flame passage and provide greater heat intensity for cooking the food at a faster rate with the high heat intensity of the screen causing any grease or fat drippings from the food to be dissipated on contact with the screen thereby eliminating accumulation or build up of flammable grease or fat drippings so that flames caused by such drippings becoming ignited will not burn or char food. This enables the outer edges and surfaces of the food to become crisp while the inner portion remains moist.

The invention envisages there being a combination of: a portable kiln with a firemouth positioned at the bottom of the said kiln; a support structure able to set the kiln in a removable fit-lock way on a burner facing the said firemouth; and heat insulating means of protection designed to safeguard at least the elements placed adjacent to the said firemouth.

Abstract: The device of the present invention can be used as a cooking unit, or as a table, or as a suspended support. When the device is used as a cooking unit, a stand thereof supports a pan at the upper end of the stand. A larger, lower end of a hollow, truncated pyramidal support member is disposed on the pan. The smaller, upper end of the support member receives the smaller, lower end of a hollow, truncated pyramidal firebox. A fire grate is supported within the firebox intermediate its smaller, lower end and its larger, upper end. A cooking grill is also supported within the firebox above the fire grate, adjacent the larger, upper end of the firebox. To convert the cooking unit into a table, the pan, support member, firebox, fire grate, and cooking grill are removed from the stand. Then, the cooking grill and fire grate are successively disposed on the stand at the location previously occupied by the pan.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable barbecue having an open-center frame provided with hingedly folding leg members and grill rack members. The leg members unfold to support the barbecue in an upright position and the grill rack members unfold to supportingly receive a cooking grill. Locking means is provided to secure the leg and grill rack members in their supporting positions. The open-center frame also supportingly engages a disposable heat reflecting drip pan and a removeable fire basket.

Abstract: A portable barbecue grill knocks down readily into a compact state for travel or for storage in a limited space. In the assembled state, the unit is larger than known portable grills which cannot be disassembled at all or are difficult to disassemble, and the unit is capable of grilling several large steaks or cooking larger cuts of meat. When disassembled, the fire pan nests within the cover and has its open top covered by a base plate of the unit during transport or storage. The grill rack and a pedestal tube are then also stored within the fire pan.

Abstract: The present invention comprises an easily moved about cooking unit having a heating assembly and a removable steamer assembly which is fitted to the top of the heating assembly. The heating assembly is provided with a replaceable tank of propane or other liquified gas and suitable heat controls. The steamer assembly comprises a steam producing pot with cover and a removable inner steaming pot to hold the shellfish out of the water while subjecting the shellfish to the steam.

Abstract: A charcoal concentrating implement for a charcoal grill which restrains the charcoal in an enclosure resting on the firebox of the grill under the cooking surface either by itself, or in combination with the sides of the firebox. The charcoal is concentrated in only a portion of the firebox supporting surface. A quicker, hotter fire for cooking is obtained with a reduction in the amount of charcoal and charcoal lighter fluid required.

Abstract: A slant adjustable grill for use with large outdoor cooking devices is provided. The slant adjustable grill is cooperative with two grill support panels located at opposite ends of the firebox. The grill support panels include slanted slots for the selective engagement with handle means extending outwardly from the grill. The grill is rendered capable of vertical adustment or slant adjustment in either the front/back or right/left mode. Additionally, a domed lid may be used in cooperation with the slant adjustable grill and provides access cut-out means whereby the user may vertically or slant adjust the grill to the desired position. The slant adjustable grill is also fully removable from the device as well as being pivotable to an open position to grant access to the firebox.

Abstract: A lightweight, foldable, compact, portable cooking device having a vertical support member which provides a location for adjustable attachment of cooking and fire grates. Cooking and fire grates are hinged and the support member disassembles into multiple segments thereby permitting the entire implement to be collapsed to satisfy compact storage requirements.

Abstract: A portable cooking device comprising a housing having two cooking sections hinged together along a respective side wall whereby the sections may be disposed side by side with their open ends facing upwardly and displaceable to be juxtaposed with their open ends facing one another. Each section has a bottom wall, opposed side walls and opposed end walls. One of the cooking sections has a heat generating element secured therein beneath a heat transmitting support frame. The other concave section has a gas burner assembly supportable on the bottom wall thereof below a further heat transmitting support frame. The assembly has an open top end pan with a gas burner element disposed substantially centrally therein. A flame shield is disposed over the burner. A secondary heat deflection support plate maintains the pan spaced from the bottom wall and the side and end walls. The pan is also ventilated by vent openings provided in the side and end walls of the cooking section.
