Abstract: A hair curling rod device for creating tight spiral curls for all hair textures, with or without the use of heat includes a top member and a bottom member. The top member has a relatively flat orientation and a flat bottom side. The bottom member has a convex orientation to the top member and a substantially circular cross-section. The top member is connected to the bottom member at a first end by a U-shaped connection. The U-shaped connection biases the top member toward the bottom member. The top member has a first length and the bottom member has a second length. Where the second length is longer than the first length, where the bottom member extends beyond the top member at a second end. The bottom member has an upward angled portion at the second end where the bottom member extends beyond the top member at the second end.

Abstract: A system includes a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) generator configured to generate a first PRBS and a second PRBS and an exclusive-OR logic configured to exclusive-OR the first PRBS and the second PRBS to compute a third PRBS. The system also includes an adder, a correlator and a corrector. The adder adds the third PRBS to input data to compute summed data for transmission of the summed data across the channel. The correlator computes the exclusive-OR of the first PRBS and the second PRBS to reproduce the third PRBS and correlates output data from the channel to the reproduced third PRBS to compute a channel gain error and a channel memory error. The corrector extracts the input data from the output data from the channel using the computed channel gain and memory errors.

Abstract: A hair barrette for securing hair is disclosed. The hair barrette includes a first, second, and third segment. The first and second segments each have a first side having teeth and a catch, and an opposing second side having an ornamental design. The third segment is positioned between the first and second segments and may have a first end, a second end, a first opening adjacent to the first end, and a second opening adjacent to the second end. The catch of the first segment is insertable into the second opening of the third segment and the catch of the second, segment is insertable into the first opening of the third segment. Further the ornamental designs are visible when said the catches are inserted into the openings.

Abstract: In a first aspect the present invention provides a method of producing an ultra wide band signal in which a carrier signal is modulated by a spreading waveform which is a periodic deterministic wideband signal and the frequency of the carrier signal is changed by a predetermined amount at predetermined intervals (the reciprocal of this interval being the hopping rate), wherein there is a harmonic relationship between the carrier frequency, the predetermined amount of frequency change, and the period of the spreading waveform. In this way, an ultra wide band signal is created using both direct sequence and frequency hopping techniques and the signal so created may be detected using a coherent detector at a receiver. This provides a wide bandwidth signal, or even an ultra wide bandwidth (UWB) signal which mitigates the problems of multi-path signals (through coherent combining across a wide bandwidth) and also interference.

Abstract: A simple hair styling device is described which allows a person to style and dry his or her hair to be easily either naturally or with a hair dryer. Opposing sides of the device capture the hair and maintain the hair in a set shape while the hair dries. The hairstyle produced by the device is controlled by the preselectable contour of the opposing sides of the device. The device is easy to grasp and open and is intended for single-handed operation. The device can aid a person having impaired use of his or her hands and arms to style his or her own hair.

The first clamp device has a first holding plate. The second clamp device has a second holding plate. The first adhesive layer is disposed on the first holding plate. The second adhesive layer is disposed on the second holding plate. The first ceramic plate is disposed on the first adhesive layer. The second ceramic plate is disposed on the second adhesive layer. The pivot pin fastens the first clamp device and the second clamp device together.

Abstract: A new hair curler for simulating the user's hair when the curler is in use curling the user's real hair. The inventive device includes an elongate tubular member and an elongate casing member detachably attachable to the outer surface of the tubular member. A plurality of elongate flexible strands adapted to resemble human hair are coupled to the casing member.

Abstract: A hair curler roller having a flexible exterior outer sleeve and a rigid center core, and a strap for holding hair ends on the outer sleeve. The strap may be retractable into the interior of the rigid center core when not in use. A compact low profile holder or case is provided for the hair curler rollers.
