    Abstract: Gaskets for sealing two mating surfaces have an inner ring positioned between two inner sealing deformable layers and an outer ring positioned exterior and concentric to the inner ring, the outer ring positioned between two outer sealing deformable layers. The two inner sealing deformable layers are configured to compress a greater amount than the two outer sealing deformable layers when a compressive force is applied. In a compressed configuration, the two inner sealing deformable layers fill in the crevices of the mating surfaces of a corroded flange connection thereby avoiding immediate maintenance for the damaged flanges. The inner and outer rings have grooves and ridges on upper and lower surfaces to retain and receive portions of the inner and outer sealing deformable layers in a sealed flange connection.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a flow control (1) for reducing the flow velocity of a liquid heating medium flowing into an accumulator tank (2) or a boiler. The flow control (1) comprises an inner tubular member (5) and an outer cylindrical member (6), The inner tubular member (5) has an inlet opening (8) and at least one outlet opening (9). A deflector means (10) deflects the flow of liquid heating medium out of the inner tubular member through said outlet opening. A perforated member (12) covers the outlet opening (9) such that the flow of liquid heating medium from said outlet opening passes through said perforated member. The outer cylindrical member (6) comprises a solid part (14) and a perforated part (15). The outer cylindrical member (6) is positioned such that the solid part (14) deflects the flow of liquid heating medium from said inner tubular member towards the perforated part (15) of the outer cylindrical member and through that into the accumulator tank (2) or boiler.

The body has one or more through holes communicating with upstream and downstream portions of the lubrication circulation system. Each of the one or more holes has a cross-sectional area sufficiently small, and a length sufficiently long, to prevent turbulent lubricant flow therethrough at temperatures below a first predetermined reference temperature. The one or more holes have sufficient aggregate cross-sectional area to allow a desired lubricant flow rate through the body at temperatures at or above a second predetermined reference temperature.

    Abstract: Implementations of an orifice plate used to regulate flow through a conduit are provided. In some implementations, a balanced restriction orifice (BRO) plate configured to maximize pressure loss is provided. In some implementations, the BRO plate may be configured to limit pipe and plate noise, erosion, cavitation, shear stress, etc. while maximizing pressure loss, and limiting flow to required values. In some implementations, openings through a BRO plate may be configured to satisfy the Velocity-Head Pressure-Loss equation: ?P=k?Vn/2Gc. Alternatively, in some implementations, the hole pattern of an orifice plate may be optimized through the use of a provided Reynolds matching (RM) equation.     Abstract: A system and method for improving oil-and-water separation in a blended fluid stream are presented. The system includes a pressure reduction device that causes cyclonic flow in the stream. The pressure reduction device may be a wafer-based hydrocyclone or a modified hydrocyclone having an underflow outlet but no overflow outlet. The system may also include a valve that is located upstream or downstream of the pressure reduction device. Both the valve and the pressure reduction device reduce the pressure of the fluid stream while reducing the shearing of oil and water droplets within the stream. As a result, the droplets are more likely to coalesce and less likely to form emulsions, thus improving oil-and-water separation in downstream treatment processes.
