Patent number: 8893542Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring and determining fuel vapor recovery performance is disclosed. The dispensing of liquid fuel into a tank by a conventional gas pump nozzle naturally displaces a mixture of air and fuel ullage vapor in the tank. These displaced vapors may be recovered at the dispensing point nozzle by a vapor recovery system. A properly functioning vapor recovery system recovers approximately one unit volume of vapor for every unit volume of dispensed liquid fuel. The ratio of recovered vapor to dispensed fuel is termed the A/L ratio, which should ideally be approximately equal to one (1). The A/L ratio, and thus the proper functioning of the vapor recovery system, may be determined by measuring liquid fuel flow and return vapor flow (using a vapor flow sensor) on a nozzle-by-nozzle basis. The disclosed methods and apparatus provide for the determination of A/L ratios for individual nozzles using a reduced number of vapor flow sensors.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2012Date of Patent: November 25, 2014Assignee: Veeder-Root CompanyInventor: Robert P. Publication number: 20140318668Abstract: A pneumatic wheel assembly includes a tire, mounted to a wheel rim, including an inflation valve, one default air chamber and one or more spare inner chambers, which spare inner chambers are inflatable if necessary, such as in case of puncture of the tire, where the inflation valve includes a gas inlet and a multi-way valve having selectable switching states to fluidly connect the inlet to either one of the default chamber or one of the inflatable inner chambers thereby allowing for individual inflation of any of the chambers, and a perforated rigid chamber extending circumferentially around the rim between the tire beads and fluidly connectable to a gas outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2014Publication date: October 30, 2014Inventor: Andrzej Jaroslaw GALUSZKA

Publication number: 20140318667Abstract: A device for operating a plurality of containers fillable with a medium may include a plurality of container valves each connected to of one of the containers, and a filling channel arrangement connectable or connected at one end to a media pressure source and connected at the other end to the respective container valves. In order to simplify determination of the media pressure in the individual containers and, furthermore, to permit different filling speeds, an emptying channel arrangement is connected at one end to the container valves and connectable at the other end to an unpressurized media hollow via an emptying channel valve. The media pressure in one of the containers can be calculated using a mathematical model. A filling channel valve may be provided for selectively connecting the filling channel arrangement to the media pressure source either directly or via a throttle in order to permit different filling speeds.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2011Publication date: October 30, 2014Inventor: Birgit Ferstl

Publication number: 20140299226Abstract: A proppant discharge system has a container with an outlet formed at a bottom thereof and a gate slidably affixed at the outlet so as to be movable between a first position covering the outlet to second position opening the outlet, and a support structure having an actuator thereon. The container is removably positioned on the top surface of the support structure. The actuator is engageable with gate so as to move the gate from the first position to the second position. A conveyor underlies the container so as to receive proppant as discharged from the container through the outlet. The container is a ten foot ISO container.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 20, 2014Publication date: October 9, 2014Inventors: John Oren, Joshua Oren
