The second end comprises a second-end opening leading into the hollow portion of the neck and terminates with a second-end edge comprising a chamfered surface structured and configured to mate with a corresponding chamfered surface of the handle when the head is connected thereto. The neck's hollow portion is defined by an inner wall comprising a recess for receiving a spring-loaded ball associated with a connector of the handle.

Abstract: A power tool includes a power head receiving power from a power source. A drive coupled to the power head extends along a longitudinal axis, and the drive is engaged with a connector. Various aspects relate to the connector. The connector includes an internal bore configured to couple to the drive to a shank of a working tool. The connector further includes an external lobe protruding radially outward from the longitudinal axis, the lobe having a locking mechanism configured to secure the second working tool in response to relative movement between the lobe and the second working tool in both an axial direction and a rotational direction.

Abstract: A polymeric handle material for a personal care implement comprises a polymer base material, and a filler material, preferably an inorganic filler material, wherein the polymer base material is selected from the group of polyamide, styrene acrylonitrile resin, polybutylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate, recycled plastic materials, or mixtures thereof, and wherein the filler material constitutes from about 50 wt % to about 80 wt %, preferably from about 70 wt % to about 75 wt %, of the polymeric handle material.

Abstract: A grout cleaning attachment configured for removably attaching to a shoe enables a user to scrub a grout line with their foot. The grout cleaning attachment includes a brush that extends out and away from a toe section of the shoe so that a person using the attachment can see where the brush bristles are and locate the brush over the grout line. The grout cleaning attachment includes a cup section that slides over the front section of the shoe and a strap on the aft section that wraps around the person's shoe and ankle to secure the grout cleaning attachment to the shoe. The grout cleaning attachment is light in weight and easy to install and remove from a shoe being worn by a person. The brush is narrow in width and long in length so that most of the bristles will be used to brush over the grout line. Also, the brush can be curved upward in order to improve the brushing performance for cleaning a grout line.

The first and second locking members may be configured to interface with one another. The annular retention member may define a resting state for the locking assembly, in which the first and second locking members may grip a shaft of the motor. The pacifying cleaning device is comprised of a U-shaped cleansing portion proceeding in a circular manner between the base of a nipple and a raised lip displacer. The cleansing portion has a pair of walls with sets of bristles, such that the respective sets of bristles generally face each other. As an infant sucks on the pacifying device, the position of the bristles and sucking action result in frictional contact against both the front and back of the infant's teeth, providing improved overall cleaning of teeth and gums.

Abstract: An oral care system that includes an oral care implement and a tracking attachment. The oral care implement may include a handle and a head. The tracking attachment is detachably coupled to the oral care implement. The tracking attachment may include a housing including a first housing portion having an inner surface that defines a first cavity and a second housing portion having an inner surface that defines a second cavity. The tracking attachment may also include a tracking unit configured to facilitate tracking at least one of a position, orientation, or movement of the oral care implement to which it is attached. A first portion of the handle may be positioned within the first cavity and a second portion of the handle may be positioned within the second cavity.

Abstract: There is herein provided a hair brush comprising a body portion formed from a material having a first flexibility; and a bristle mount formed from a material having a second, lesser, flexibility, coupled to the body portion, the bristle mount comprising a plurality of mount sections, each mount section having at least one bristle mounted thereon, wherein the mount sections are movable relative to one another in three dimensions such that the relative flexibility of the overall bristle mount is greater than the second flexibility, thereby enabling the bristle mount to substantially replicate bending or flexing of the body portion. Such a brush is highly flexible yet effective and may be easily adapted or shaped by a user to conform to the contours of, for example, a head or body.

The tooth cleaning elements are disposed on longitudinally extending bristle carrier sections hingedly coupled together about a common pivot axis. The axis may be formed by a flexible web. A slidable actuator mounted in the handle portion is mechanically coupled to the bristle carrier assembly by an elongated operating rod. Moving the actuator in opposing rearward and forward directions opens or folds the bristles on the carriers outwards or inwards respectively about the common pivot axis. In the folded position, the bristles are configured for interdental cleaning of the teeth. In the open or extended position, the bristles are configured for general purpose cleaning of the teeth.

Abstract: In one particular embodiment, a basting device incorporates a handle body, having a handle portion and a working portion, and a bristle cartridge removably coupled to the working portion of the handle body. The bristle cartridge has a set of first bristles projecting outwardly from the cartridge in a first direction and a set of second bristles projecting outwardly from the cartridge in a second direction different from the first direction. At least one of the first and second bristles has a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end being attached to the bristle cartridge and the distal end having a slit therein extending from the distal end toward the proximal end. The slit has a width sized to cause fluid to be drawn into the slit through capillary action when the distal end of the bristle is submerged in the fluid.

Abstract: A hairbrush for styling hair has a brush head releasably connected to a rod rotatably mounted on a handle portion of the hairbrush and having a handle. The brush head has a plurality of spaced apart bristles for insertion between strands of the hair and gripping the strands therebetween. As the rod, and therefore the brush head are rotatable relative the handle, the brush head, with strands of hair gripped thereon, can be rotated as the handle is moved towards the head of a person whose hair is being styled, thus causing the strands of hair to be rolled around brush head, without requiring cumbersome twisting of the handle. A spring facilitates rotation in an opposite second direction and unrolling of the strands of hair off the brush head. A locking pin enables locking and unlocking of the rod and brush head to prevent and enable rotation thereof.

Abstract: A half-moon brush or other cosmetic applicator is in two parts, each having a head and a flat handle. The handle of each part has a wide major face and a narrow side face. The two parts are combined in a first configuration with the two narrow side faces abutting and the heads side by side to form a single wide, flat head, and are combined in a second configuration with the two wide major faces abutting and the heads face to face to form a single thicker, less wide, flat head. Each of the parts of the applicator has magnetic components that cooperate with magnetic components in the other part to hold the applicator parts together in both the first and the second configurations.

A method for producing brush assemblies can produce brush assemblies with brush sleeves of varied cross sections.

Abstract: One embodiment of an applicator comprises a brush head with a ferrule, and a brush handle. The ferrule has the head at one end and the handle at the other end. Magnetic elements, at least one of which is a magnet, are attached to the brush handle and ferrule where the two parts connect. The brush head can be removed from the handle, assembled with the handle, and switched easily whenever needed. The ferrule can be kept firmly on the handle by the action of the magnet inside. The head can be retracted by sliding a sleeve mounted on the handle forward over the sides of the head. The head, when removed from the handle, can be washed without the risk of water penetrating the sleeve mechanism. The head can also be replaced or interchanged, which can greatly enlarge the versatility of the brush and also avoids waste of material.

The head structure includes a base having a coupling face formed with a reception chamber and an opening for access into the reception chamber, and a plurality of resilient ribs provided at the periphery confining the opening and extending inwardly and radially toward a center axis of the opening. The rod structure includes a coupling member provided partially, rotatably and detachably within the reception chamber in the coupling face of the base. When the coupling member is detachably received within the reception chamber, the coupling member biases against and engages the resilient ribs so as to be prevented untimely disengaging from the base.

Abstract: A device and method for coupling a floor cleaning implement to a floor cleaning machine. The device and method selectively couple a floor cleaning implement, such as a pad or brush, in manner that can be easily released and connected. In one embodiment the coupling device comprises a plate having a first and second channel coupled to opposite edges of the plate. The channels are dimensioned and configured to receive edges of the cleaning implement. At least one channel has projecting members that selectively prevent the cleaning implement from leaving the channel. In some embodiments, the plate has a plurality of recesses dimensioned and configured to selectively receive projections extending from the cleaning implement. The projections of the cleaning implement only fully engage the recesses of the coupling device when an actuator presses the cleaning implement against a floor.
