Abstract: A chain to be used on vehicle wheels, preferably motor vehicles, to improve the tire grip in rugged ground, either by the microtopography of them and/or cohesion of the aggregates that form the driving surface, additionally protecting the tire against the roughness of ground, said chain being formed by a quantity of links (1), wherein each link (1) has a profile with basic shape of a flat “U”, which has a crossbar (2), a first lateral pillar (3) and a second lateral pillar (4); where on the top inner portion, the first lateral pillar (3) has a first projection (5) facing the central axis of the link (1), as an extension male plug, leaving between the crossbar (2) and said first projection () a first gap (7) by way of female cavity; where on the top inner portion, the second lateral pillar (4) has a second projection (6) also oriented toward the central axis of the link (1), as a male extension plug, leaving between the crossbar (2) and said second projection (6) one second gap (8) by way of female cavity, and
Abstract: A traction chain assembly for providing improved traction to elastomeric tracks is provided. The traction chain assembly comprises two side brackets adapted to be mounted on each side of the track and generally to the drive lugs thereof. The traction chain assembly further comprises generally two laterally extending chains which are attached to the side brackets and which further extend at least partially over the traction lugs located on the outer surface of the track and over which the assembly is disposed. Some of the chain links of the chains of the traction chain assembly are also generally equipped with outwardly projecting grousers for increasing the traction thereof.
Abstract: A device has a detachably fitting traction aid to be attached using at least two fixing devices, applied to the inner circumferential surface of a rim, in the vicinity of the rim edge, disposed opposing each other, substantially vertically on the plane of the rim and aligned with each other. A first fixing device, faces the wheel inner side, and has a first fixing element for the hooking and unhooking to a second fixing element, complementary to the first fixing element, mounted on one end of the traction aid. The second fixing device, faces the wheel outer side, and has a second fixing element being a coupling device, for coupling and tensioning a tension element, mounted on the other end of the traction aid, such that the traction aid may be tensioned transversely across the tire on the running surface, between both fixing devices.
Abstract: An apparatus that is used to increase traction between the tires of a vehicle and a slippery surface such as snow, ice, sand or mud. The apparatus is easily fitted transversely across the tire tread and tightened about the tire and tire rim by a take up ratchet.
Abstract: An emergency vehicle traction device for improving the traction of an automobile wheel having laterally communicating hub apertures. The device comprises a traction member preferably comprising a chain for improvement of the wheel's traction, a flexible rope or strap for wrapping around the inside of the wheel and through a hub aperture, and a novel fastener member for holding the traction device in place on the wheel. The fastener member comprises one or more rope binding channels and one or more rope binder adapted to bind a free end of the rope member, and thereby to hold the traction device securely in place. A preferred embodiment of the traction device further comprises a retrieval tool adapted to pass through the hub aperture and to draw the free end of the rope through the wheel by engaging an eye provided on the free end of the rope. No more than two or three traction devices according to the disclosure are needed to move a vehicle out of even the worst predicaments.
Abstract: A combination tire-chain device comprising a tire having a crown with a plurality of openings extending parallel to the axis of the tire and uniformly spaced around the tire extending through the crown from one side thereof to another side wall thereof. A plurality of bolts, each having a length larger than each of the openings and complementary in cross-section to that of the openings, and threaded at one free end and having a bolt head at the other end. A chain is connected to the other end adjacent to the bolt head and is adapted to be placed over the outer periphery of the tire when the bolt is inserted in the opening. A connecting member having a bolt opening substantially complementary to the one free end of the bolt is connected to a free end of the chain. A locking bolt releasably threadably engages the threaded free end of the bolt and secures the bolt, as well as the connecting member against the side wall of the tire.
Abstract: A tire chain for tractors and the like includes a plurality of relatively large longitudinally aligned annular elements which are retained in the chain by means of laterally extending chain parts, and onto which are welded a number of plate members protruding in radial planes normal to the general plane of the annular element. The plate members serve both as claw means for the chain and as means for connecting the lateral chain parts of the annular elements.
Abstract: A traction attachment for the drive wheels of motor vehicles comprising a number of interconnected traction units self applicable to a tire by interposed spring means in resilient response to pressure exerted by a wheel longitudinally progressing thereover and provided with self locking means connecting the ends thereof.
Abstract: An anti-skid tire chain, especially for dual tires in which the chain has a tread part for engaging the tread of each tire and an intermediate part between and connected to the tread parts. Each part of the chain is formed of rings and chain links connecting the rings and clamping means is provided for clamping the chain in place on a set of dual tires.

Abstract: A connecting link, especially for tire chains in which an annular link body is provided with a gap on one side for the introduction of links into the body. A closure member is provided which is receivable in the gap and which is adapted for connection to the link body. When the closure member is disposed in the gap it forms substantially a continuation of the link body so that the assembly has a smooth contour throughout the periphery thereof.
