Abstract: A belt clamping system including an open-ended, flat belt with an end portion having a number of teeth projecting therefrom and a clamping plate with matching tooth profile for use in connecting the belt end to another structure. The flat belt may be reinforced with longitudinally extending cords. The toothed profile may be a standard timing belt profile and may be unreinforced. A length of timing belt profile material may be welded to the flat surface of the open-ended flat belt at or near an end. The length of timing belt profile may include at least 7 tooth pitches. The end portion may be clamped between a flat surface of a flat plate and a grooved surface of a grooved plate having grooves complementary to the timing belt teeth.

Abstract: An elevator load bearing assembly includes a plurality of cords within a jacket. The cords are spaced from an exterior surface on the jacket such that the spacing remains generally constant along the length of the belt. The jacket has a smooth, uninterrupted exterior surface for contacting sheaves as the belt moves in the elevator system. A method of making the inventive belt assembly is disclosed. The inventive belt assembly minimizes the possibility for generating an annoying, audible sound and vibration during elevator operation.

After that, in a polishing process, the tube material is rubbed with a lapping tape of #2000 while being rotated in one direction at a fixed speed, so that circumferential stripes are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the tube material. Then, the circumferential stripes are thermally transferred by pressing the outer circumferential surface of the heated tube material against a mold surface that is finished in the shape of circumferential stripes by a thermal transfer process.

Abstract: A toothed belt has therein a core wire (3) including a core thread (1) made of aramid fiber and a filament thread (2) made of nylon fiber, and has belt tooth portions (4) and belt groove portions (5) alternately formed therealong. The core wire (3), the belt tooth portions (4), and the belt groove portions (5) are integrated with one another by a rubber material (7). It should be noted herein that the core thread (1) and the filament thread (2) are integrally twined around each other so that the filament thread (2) is formed in the shape of a plurality of loops around the core thread (1). The filament thread (2) in the shape of the loops enters tooth root portions (9) of the belt tooth portions (4) to be arranged therein. As a result, the tooth root portions (9) are strengthened.
