  • Publication number: 20030037858
Abstract: An integrated process for making an inflatable laminated article comprises extruding a first film and a second film, followed by cooling the first film and the second film so that the films will not fuse to one another upon contact with each other. The films are then brought into contact with one another, and selected portions of one or both films are heated so that the films are heat sealed to one another in a selected area having a desired pattern. The unsealed area between the film provides inflatable chambers between the first film and the second film. An alternative process utilizes a film tubing in lay-flat configuration to produce a laminated inflatable article.

  • Patent number: 6383583
Abstract: A laminate having a layer structure of A/C/B/C/D, which is obtained by coextruding a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (B) and an adhesive resin (C) on one side of a polypropylene film (A) oriented at least uniaxially, to give a laminate having a layer structure of A/C/B/C, stretching this laminate in the transverse direction, and laminating a heat sealing layer (D) on a surface of the adhesive resin (C) of the laminate, and a production method thereof. The laminate of the present invention is superior in gas barrier property, moisture proof, aromatic proof and the like under particularly high humidity, and particularly when formed into a packaging bag, the packing bag shows superior sealing performance and appearance. Hence, the laminate of the present invention is useful for various packaging applications and as a packaging bag and the like for food and pharmaceutical preparations.

  • Publication number: 20020037179
Abstract: In a part connecting member made from synthetic resin, at least two molded pieces obtained by the injection molding of plastic are provisionally connected by being adjacently arranged or abut against each other. The provisionally connected body is set in a die different from the dies used for the formation of each molded piece. Then, in a state such that each molded piece and the die are positioned, the molded pieces are joined by the injection of a molten resin material for joining into a gap formed between the opposed surfaces of the molded pieces that are adjacently arranged or abut against each other. An injection channel of the molten resin up to the gap is formed by using one of the molded pieces forming the gap of the opposed surfaces that are adjacently arranged or abut against each other.

Abstract: A method of producing individual personal-sized bars of soap with a water-resistant supporting medium being provided integral with each bar for enabling its suspension for air drying after each use. The preferred method incorporates an intermittent feeding technique whereby a portion of the medium protrudes beyond one end of a soap bar. An alternative method incorporates a feeding technique resulting in soap bars wherein the medium and the soap material of each bar are the same length. A hole is provided either through the medium alone in the preferred method, or through both the soap and the medium in the alternative method. The method may include the additional step of providing a soap-compatible adhesive to opposite sides of the supporting medium.

  • Patent number: 6250358
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for injecting sealant material into the corners of an insulated glass assembly suitable for use in manual and automated production. It has been found that significant saving in both time and material can be achieved by only sealing the corners of the assembly, particularly using the automated method and apparatus. The apparatus includes a pair of wiper blocks each having a surface for abutting an edge of a glass assembly arranged in substantially perpendicular configuration to each other, adapted for converging and diverging reciprocal movement from an adjoining position for molding a square corner to a separated position for wiping smooth the surface for the injected sealant material. A nozzle is positioned between the wiper blocks for injecting sealant material into the corner area and retracting in concert with the converging movement of the wiper blocks.
