Abstract: The present invention includes clamp members, which preliminarily open a tubular label folded in a sheet; openable and closable expansion claws, which expand the preliminarily opened label; and a mounting, on which a bottle is mounted and which can rise and fall. The mounting on which the bottle is mounted rises, thereby inserting the bottle into the expanded label, and the expansion claws are removed from the label, thereby attaching the label to the bottle. A cam included in a rise and fall mechanism, which causes the expansion claw to rise and fall, includes: a fixed portion, of which a height position cannot be changed; a rise and fall portion, of which a height position can be changed; and a connection portion, which connects the fixed portion and the rise and fall portion so as to swing by following a rising and falling motion of the rise and fall portion.

Abstract: The present invention supplies practical procedures, functions or techniques for folding tessellations. Several tessellation crease pattern techniques, and the three-dimensional folded configuration are given. Additionally several new forming processes, including mathematical methods for describing the material flow are disclosed doubly-periodic folding of materials that name the doubly-periodic folded (DPF) surface, including vertices, edges, and facets, at any stage of the folding. This information is necessary for designing tooling and forming equipment, for analyzing strength and deflections of the DPFs under a variety of conditions, for modeling the physical properties of DPF laminations and composite structures, for understanding the acoustic or other wave absorption/diffusion/reflection characteristics, and for analyzing and optimizing the structure of DPFs in any other physical situation.

  • Patent number: 8726962
Abstract: An apparatus and method to manufacture shaped counter top edges for custom counter tops. Sheet laminate is heated, clamped to a post form mold with clamping screws, and then formed around the post form mold into formed laminate. The formed laminate is then bonded to a substrate using adhesive and a bonding fixture having a plurality of bonding presses. Each bonding press has a pair of mutually opposed bonding press molds, each bonding press mold having a bonding press mold groove sized to admit a formed laminate around an edge of the substrate. Clamps hold the bonding press molds together, thereby urging the formed laminate into intimate contact with the substrate until the adhesive cures. A counter top edge is cut from the resulting substrate/laminate assembly at an edge first cut angle and an edge second cut angle to provide a neat and aesthetically pleasing installation on a counter.

  • Publication number: 20140124127
Abstract: A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.

Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a roller includes a loading plate, a polishing device, a processing device, a hot pressing device, a mounting device, and a cutting device. The loading plate loads a preprocessed metal plate having a preprocessed molding surface. The polishing device polishes the preprocessed molding surface to obtain a polished molding surface. The processing device forms molding patterns on the polished molding surface to obtain a metal plate with a molding surface defining the molding patterns. The hot pressing device forms impression patterns on a preprocessed resin film to obtain a resin film by pressing the metal plate and the preprocessed resin film together. The mounting device mounts the resin film to a rolling surface of a main body until the resin film winds around the rolling surface. The cutting device cuts the resin film.

Abstract: A bat is created using efficient and automated techniques to apply layers of composite materials onto a mandrel. The system includes a plurality of rotating wrapping mechanisms binding stages. Each wrapping mechanism rotates along a central axis while a mandrel is driven through the axis. The rotational motion allows each wrapping mechanism to wrap one or more material strips along the outer surface of the mandrel. Between each wrapping layer, a binding material such as fusible thread may be applied to fuse wrapping layers together. The wrapping may be performed for the bat barrel and bat handle. Each mandrel may form two bats, and multiple mandrels can be connected together to maximize wrapping efficiency. The wrapped mandrels are separated into bat units, a resin transfer molding is performed, and the bats are completed.

  • Patent number: 8541090
Abstract: A method is presented for making a composite material from strips comprising longitudinal fibers and a binder or resin, which material comprises a number of layer assemblies one on top of the other. Each layer assembly comprises m sets (with m at least 2) of parallel strips each extending in a different direction, Each layer assembly is manufactured by successive steps of depositing groups of parallel strips according to a well defined pattern (without longitudinally interweaving strips with previously deposited strips). Before completing a layer assembly, with the exception of the last layer assembly, by depositing its last group of parallel strips, the first group of parallel strips of the following layer assembly is already deposited. A composite material manufactured with such a method is presented too.

  • Patent number: 8528617
Abstract: A method for forming an undergarment comprises cutting a web to form a pre-form comprising transverse edges and two longitudinal edges, each longitudinal edge having two waist sections and a crotch section located intermediate the waist sections, a sealing area located adjacent and inboard of each waist section, and transferring the pre-form to a processing wheel. The method further comprises gripping the pre-form adjacent each waist section with grippers in four gripping areas, each gripping area located near a respective sealing area, jointly rotating the grippers that hold the gripping areas in the region of one of the transverse edges around at least one hinging axis to place the transverse edge generally parallel and opposite to the second transverse edge, superimposing the sealing areas in a contacting relationship, joining the superimposed sealing areas, thus forming the undergarment, and releasing the undergarment from the grippers.
