Abstract: A wear resistant pipe fitting includes an inlet end in fluid communication, in use, with a first linear pipe segment, and an outlet end in fluid communication, in use, with a second linear pipe segment. The pipe fitting includes a first eccentric reducer arranged to receive a slurry or pipeline fluid from the first linear pipe section and deliver the slurry or pipeline fluid to a second eccentric reducer; the second eccentric reducer arranged to receive the slurry or fluid from the first eccentric reducer and deliver the slurry or pipeline fluid to the second linear pipe section; and, a flow interrupter device is positioned within the first eccentric reducer for disrupting the flow of the slurry or pipeline fluid before the slurry or fluid enters the second eccentric reducer.
Abstract: An automatic brickwork stencil making machine formed in two production lines on a table top base. A roll of adhesive coated tape in each line is processed to pick up tabs positioned perpendicular to the moving tape, a tamper secures the tab on the tape, and a take-up spool driven by a motor rolls up the completed product for use in making brickwork layouts on vertical or horizontal planar surfaces.
Abstract: Labeling apparatus and method cuts labels from a web of label material after adhesive is applied to the web of material. Under one embodiment heated knives are carried on a vacuum drum which cooperates with a roller functioning as an anvil to cut the web into labels of the appropriate length. A sensor reads a mark of the indicia side of the web and controls movement of the web to assure proper registration. Under a second embodiment, a rotatable drum having a plurality of vacuum plates cooperates with a die cutting roller to cut labels of the desired shape. The cut labels are retained on the vacuum applicator plates which then are extended radially as they rotate to a position to apply the label to a container.
Abstract: Adhesive, preferably pressure sensitive adhesive, is applied to an article f manufacture, such as the closure flap of an envelope or paper bag in such a way that the adhesive is protected against activation prior to closing the article. For this purpose, the adhesive is first applied to a continuous web or tape of a carrier material that either has an inherent anti-stick characteristic or is provided with an anti-stick surface coating relative to the adhesive to be applied. Preferably, the adhesive does not cover the entire surface of the carrier strip, but rather covers only areas in the form of stripes extending at least partly across the width of the carrier web. The adhesive stripes are spaced from one another and preferably also from at least one edge of the carrier web or tape. The carrier web is then severed into strips, each provided with one adhesive stripe and these strips with the adhesive stripes thereon are then secured between two rollers to the surface area to be provided with the adhesive.

Abstract: A glue sizing mechanism includes a container secured to the bottom of a pair of walls. A coil of sheet member is rotatably supported on the walls. A roller has the ends slidably engaged in the walls and a pair of cams are engaged with the ends of the roller for moving the roller up and down. A cover is pivotally secured to the walls for covering the roller and includes a panel having a groove for engaging with a knife. A rule includes two extensions secured to the walls for measuring the width of the sheet member.
