Publication number: 20150053794Abstract: The present disclosure generally comprises a heated showerhead assembly that may be used to supply processing gases into a processing chamber. The processing chamber may be an etching chamber. When processing gas is evacuated from the processing chamber, the uniform processing of the substrate may be difficult. As the processing gas is pulled away from the substrate and towards the vacuum pump, the plasma, in the case of etching, may not be uniform across the substrate. Uneven plasma may lead to uneven etching. To prevent uneven etching, the showerhead assembly may be separated into two zones each having independently controllable gas introduction and temperature control. The first zone corresponds to the perimeter of the substrate while the second zone corresponds to the center of the substrate. By independently controlling the temperature and the gas flow through the showerhead zones, etching uniformity of the substrate may be increased.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2014Publication date: February 26, 2015Inventors: James D. Patent number: 8784589Abstract: A method for reworking an electrically conductive layer of a composite skin is disclosed in which a patch replaces the altered section of the electrically conductive layer. The method is performed by removing a portion of the electrically conductive layer to reveal the underlying composite skin. The method includes a step of: defining a part of the acoustic panel to be cut; forming a cutting area closed by the acoustic skin; injecting a resin through the acoustic holes; positioning a replacement cellular acoustic structure in the cutting area and on the acoustic skin; forming a solid replacement skin on the replacement cellular acoustic structure.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2013Date of Patent: January 28, 2014Assignee: AircelleInventors: John Moutier, Emmanuel Anfray, Franck Maze, Herve Simon

Patent number: 8623160Abstract: A method is provided for repairing an aircraft structural component which has a component fault in a portion adjoining a cavity of the aircraft structural component. The method includes removing a region of the aircraft structural component that has the component fault, introducing an expansion body into the cavity of the aircraft structural component through an opening that has been formed by the removal of the region of the aircraft structural component having the component fault, wherein the expansion body while being introduced into the cavity of the aircraft structural component is in a non-expanded state, converting the expansion body that has been introduced into the cavity of the aircraft structural component to an expanded state, and closing the opening by means of a repair material.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2011Date of Patent: January 7, 2014Assignee: Airbus Operations GmbHInventors: Hermann Benthien, Axel Soeffker

Patent number: 8603274Abstract: A method and system for retreading a tire, whereby: the worn tread is removed from the tire to expose a lateral surface of a casing; the lateral surface of the casing is skived, thus resulting in the formation of holes and/or craters; a three-dimensional profile of the lateral surface is acquired by a three-dimensional scanner; the locations of the holes and/or craters in the lateral surface are determined by analyzing the three-dimensional profile; cement is only applied at the holes and/or craters in the lateral surface, by supplying the locations of the holes and/or craters to an automatic, electronically controlled applicator; the holes and/or craters are filled with green rubber; a green-rubber cushion and a tread strip are wound about the lateral surface of the casing; and the tire is cured.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2010Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Bridgestone CorporationInventor: Luca Lelio

Patent number: 8597448Abstract: Novel methods for extending electrostatic chuck lifetimes are provided. The methods involve providing a chuck having a metal cooling plate attached to a ceramic top plate via indium bonding, and after a period of use, disassembling the chuck, and providing a new chuck including the used metal cooling plate. In certain embodiments, the use of indium as a bond material uniquely allows the described disassembly and reassembly without damage to other parts of the chuck.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2009Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: Novellus Systems, Inc.Inventors: Alisa Hart, John C.
