Including Screw-operated Means To Move Hinged Members Patents (Class 16/238)
  • Patent number: 7653967
Abstract: The invention disclosed provides a compact hinge capable of a vertical, a horizontal, and an overlay adjustment, comprised of a cup portion and a hinge arm with one end pivotably connected to the cup portion and the other end slideably connected to a fastener plate. The fastener plate further comprises a first semi-planar surface for contact with a cabinet frame and a second semi-planar surface for slideable engagement with the hinge arm to accomplish the horizontal adjustment. The first and second semi-planar surfaces are interconnected by a deformable hinge section that allows for an elastically resilient connection at one end and an adjusting screw at the other end for a horizontally arcing movement relative to each resulting in an overlay adjustment. The fastener plate further comprises an elongated aperture in the first semi-planar surface through which the vertical adjustment is accomplished.

  • Patent number: 7603746
Abstract: A three-way adjustable butt hinge for a door is adjusted vertically in a door frame by inserting an allen wrench in a vertical adjustment screw at the top of the hinge pin. Turning the wrench moves the screw in either direction, pushes on the hinge pin and raises or lowers the door as necessary. A pin has an eccentric shaft with upper and lower sections offset on parallel axes. Lateral adjustments are effected by loosening a side-mounted set screw and turning the eccentric shaft as necessary to move the door either in or out or side to side in the frame. The lateral set screw holds the hinge pin integral with the sash hinge. The door is removed from the frame by simply lifting the door sash hinge and pin from the complementary pin receiver on the frame hinge.

Abstract: A hinge comprising: a hinge arm; and a mounting plate by means of which said hinge arm can be mounted to a furniture side wall. The hinge arm is hingedly connected to a hinge member. An adjustment screw is provided to adjust the position of the hinge arm with respect to the mounting plate. The mounting plate has a slot open at one end and having two elongated rims opposed to each other. The adjustment screw is mounted in said hinge arm so as to be turnable but axially undisplaceable with respect to said hinge arm. The opposed rims of the slot engage in the screw thread of the adjustment screw, so that the adjustment screw can be screwed into the slot of the mounting plate.

Abstract: The invention concerns a cabinet hinge with a side adjusting device that connects directly or indirectly on a cabinet-side, has a single- or multi-part baseplate (1) holding a hinge arm that is connected jointed or linked or hinged with a door-side stop component so that by means of the side adjusting device, the hinge arm's position can be changed perpendicular to the baseplate, and, at the same time, results in a correction of the depth adjustment of the hinge arm. This correction of the depth adjustment, which can also be described as a gap or reveal equalization, is accomplished by a corresponding side adjusting screw; that is, correspondingly by operating or turning the side adjusting screw. The adjusting element achieves restrained and controlled guidance of the hinge arm during the adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6532626
Abstract: The invention concerns an adjustable hinge that connects two furniture/cabinet components (door and cabinet body) together by means of a cabinet hinge and baseplate. On the cabinet hinge is a spring snap mechanism and connected on it, a hinge arm. This is connected by an adjustment plate with the baseplate and between the hinge arm and adjustment plate, an adjustment screw is located to adjust the both (bilateral) distances. The adjustment screw is screwed through an enclosed elongated hole in the adjustment plate in a thread borehole in the hinge arm. According to the invention, the adjustment screw is designed as a set screw (thread pin), which has on its one end a device for a releasable coupling with a tool and on the other end has a plate with a larger diameter. The bottom surface side of the plate, thus, rests on the baseplate and on the plate's upper surface, the edge of the adjustment plate's elongated hole.
