  • Patent number: 4561152
Abstract: The present invention provides a draft roll arrangement in a spinning frame in which the apron bottom roll is longitudinally divided into two sections at a location along its length selected to be within a range for which torsion of the apron bottom roll does not pose a problem in spinning, and in which the respective bottom rolls are operatively connected to one another in such a manner that one of the ends of the back and front bottom rolls and one apron bottom roll section are connected to a driving source and the drive for the other apron bottom roll section is derived through the back and front bottom rolls. In a preferred embodiment, the respective apron bottom roll sections are associated with rotational angle sensors whose output rotational angle signals are supplied to a control unit. When the difference in the rotational angle has exceeded a preset value, an output signal indicating such state is issued from the control unit.

  • Patent number: 4520532
Abstract: The drafting mechanism comprises an entry roller pair, an intermediate roller pair and a delivery roller pair. An apron hair is mounted such that one of the two aprons projects deeper than the other into the converging space of the pair of delivery rollers, so that the fiber sliver is still diverted, and is thus guided, after the exit or delivery opening of the aprons, on the apron projecting more deeply into the converging space. Further, both aprons are guided sufficiently close to their related delivery roller such that the aprons do not contact these rollers but leave open a minimal air gap, so that only a minimal quantity of the circulating air produced by the rotating delivery rollers can penetrate into the converging space.

  • Patent number: 4513481
Abstract: A bottom tenser utilized for a drafting means of a spinning frame, especially for fasciated yarn spinning, in which a fiber bundle is attenuated at a high speed exceeding 100 m/min. The bottom tenser as well as a bottom roller corresponding to the tenser is provided with a free end through which an apron is easily removable from and mountable on the tenser and the roller. The tenser may be constituted by a body and at least a guide wall movable relative to the body. The guide wall prevents lateral movement of the apron in its operative position and, in turn, is displaced or removed from the body in its non-operative position so as not to obstruct an apron exchanging operation.

  • Patent number: 4192041
Abstract: A method for converting a multifilament bundle of a synthetic material into a sliver and an apparatus for effecting the method. The apparatus comprises: a feed roller device for feeding the bundle; a draft roller device consisting of a pair of draft rollers, the peripheral speed of which draft roller device is higher than that of the feed roller device, for stretch breaking the filaments in the bundle between the feed roller device and the draft roller device; and an apron belt, belted between one roller of the draft roller device and the intermediate portion of the feed roller device and the draft roller device, which is wound around the other draft roller. The broken filaments are smoothed between the apron belt and the other draft roller so that the evenness of the sliver thickness is improved and the uniformity in quality of the spun yarn obtained from the sliver is also improved.
