Abstract: A collapsible piece of luggage is disclosed. The piece of luggage may have wheels and an extendable and retractable handle. The sidewall, bottom and cover of the luggage have sufficient rigidity to hold their own shape and may be folded into a storage configuration in which the piece of luggage is smaller in width and depth. Additionally, the luggage includes an expansion feature that allows the luggage cover to expand outward pyramidally so as to increase the storage volume of the luggage.

Abstract: An adjustable carrying bag having an open upper end and a closed lower end and being formed of a front panel and a rear panel. The panels are foldable about a vertically variable horizontal axis to close the bag such that by varying the vertical elevation of the fold, one varies the volumetric area of the bag. Attachment members are provided for releasably securing the front and rear panels in a folded and vertically adjustable disposition. A handle is slidably mounted on the rear panel such that upon folding the front and rear panels, securing the panels in a folded disposition and lifting the bag by the handle, the handle will slide to the top of the folded bag for carrying irrespective of the vertical elevation of the fold along the bag.

Abstract: A demountable display module that is stored in the form of a briefcase is described; it comprises a base formed by panels; a cover demountably attached to the base; posts that are demountably to the frames of the side panels of the base; and a board demountably attached to the upper end of the posts. Within the base, there is a first shelf and a second shelf each of them is housed in the inner part of one of the side panels. Likewise, first and second support and securing means are provided to keep the shelves in horizontal position and to secure the shelves in vertical position when they are housed in the side panel to which they attach. The cover of the module is used as a container body to house the rest of the elements of the module and it includes a handle to transport the module in the form of a briefcase; likewise, the method to manufacture the module is described.

Attached to the lower frame are two wheels that allow the device to be manually pulled over a flat surface. Extending around the frame is a four-sided flexible bag with an adjustable upper lid. The bag also includes a first vertical slide connector and a second horizontal slide connector that allows the bag to selectively opened or closed. Disposed between the lid and the flexible bag is a slide connector that allows three edges of the lid to be selectively detached from the bag. When the three slide connectors are detached, the lid may be lifted and the two side panels and the two front panel sections maybe opened and extended to form a changing station.

Abstract: Carriers for flat objects such as sheet music are described which supplement the capacity of musical instrument cases having at least one handle. An adjustable hanger strap or straps are provided so that the carrier can be used on cases having different sizes, shapes and thicknesses. The case handle fits through one of a plurality of elongated slots on the hangar strap of the carrier with the carrier positioned against the case. The particular slot used depends on the shape and size of the case. The carrier has one or more compartments for storing articles placed therein, with the carrier draping over one of the sides while being transported about as a single unit by virtue of the case carry handle. Loops engaging the strap are also provided to provide stability.

Abstract: A foldable luggage structure includes a main bag, in which two opposite movable bases are disposed at two sides. Male and female fastener members for fastening the main bag, which is folded one half, are disposed on the main bag near long sides of the main bag. Male and female fastener hooks for hooking the main bag, which is completely folded, are disposed near the outer long sides. Two wheels are disposed at two corners of the main bag. One hand strap has one end fixed to a bottom of the main bag near a middle between the two wheels, and the other end extending upward. The hand strap is fixed and positioned by at least one fixing strap disposed on a backside. Thus, the high mobility and the high convenience can be achieved and the retracted luggage structure occupies less space.

A peripherally continuous gusset of flexible material is connected between the two peripheral frames. Opposite wall panels of the main peripheral frame are joined to corresponding opposite wall panels of the secondary peripheral frame by bridge assemblies, one such assembly being associated with each of the opposite wall panels of the respective frames. Each bridge assembly includes a receiving member affixed to the wall panel of the first component, the receiving member having an aperture therein, and a substantially rigid bridge plate affixed to the wall panel of the second component and slidably received by the receiving members, the plate having a first and second tongue capable of cooperating with the aperture.

Abstract: This invention provides a structured luggage system that allows for maximum versatility in luggage piece dimensions and using two luggage pieces. Each of the two luggage pieces can be converted from a full-height luggage piece to an approximately half-height piece with relative ease. The lower or main piece includes conventional wheels and a retractable/extendible handle for easy transport. The upper or secondary piece is adapted to stack on and be secured to the extended handle and (in full-height configuration) offer a secondary grip for added stability adjacent to the handle grip. The lower piece includes an inner central septum that can be sealed or opened to selectively define either a two-compartment piece or large, single compartment piece. Each compartment includes easily removable stiffeners in corresponding side pockets. By removing the upper compartment stiffeners, the pocket can be collapsed into a thickened top that includes the septum as the thickened top's inside face.

Abstract: The present embodiment provides a neat, tailored accordion gusset 4 with crisscrossing elastic ribbons 22 attached to opposite rigid wire frames 8 and 10 of the expandable gusset 4, as well as a tensioned bungee cord 20 attached to the innermost edge of the center seam 26 of the expansion gusset 4. These elastic members 22 are enclosed and sealed from view by the outermost wall 6 of the luggage case 2 and an inner wall 14 defined by an elastic textile such as Spandex or the like. The expansion mechanism also allows for moveable parts of the mechanism and pinch points to be protected from interaction with the contents of the luggage.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bag that includes a shell having a predetermined maximum vertical rise. A channel is connected to the shell. An elongated strap has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is disposed within the channel, and the second portion is exposed from the channel. The strap is moveable with respect to the channel thereby causing the shell to cinch and the bag to assume a vertically constrained size while a carry strap increases in size. Optionally, the carry strap has an adjustable length to meet the needs of users of various height and having differing notions of how to wear the bag on their bodies.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved carrying bags and improved storage compartments for headwear. A carrying bag, and in particular a backpack, includes a rear compartment formed in part from an expandable material for receiving oversized items such as basketballs, soccer balls, footballs and the like. When the oversized objects are removed from the compartment, the expandable material automatically retracts into a position in which it is substantially planar with a rear surface of the carrying bag. In a further aspect of the invention, a detachable headwear storage compartment is provided for both storing and protecting headwear when it is not being worn by the user. The storage compartment is removably attachable to any supporting element, as for example a strap of a carrying bag or backpack, or a belt worn by the user.

Abstract: A piece of baggage is provided with a retractable pocket that is configured to support a beverage container on the exterior of the piece of baggage. The pocket is constructed of a mesh material and has an elastic strap along an upper edge that allows the pocket to expand to support various size containers, such as bottled water. When not in use, the pocket can be held collapsed against or inside the piece of baggage by a closure mechanism such as a zipper. This conceals the pocket to improve the aesthetic appearance of the piece of baggage and reduces the risk of snagging the mesh pocket as the piece of baggage is transported.
