Abstract: A luggage assembly comprising a suitcase having integrally connected thereto a laterally extendable handle at its upper end and a wheel assembly at its lower end is disclosed. To effect transport, the handle is moved from a lowered, compact, position to a raised position and the suitcase is tilted from an upright standing position to a canted position in which it is supported solely by its wheels and rolled by pulling said handle. An attachment allows for additional luggage items to be carried by the assembly and transported in a fully balanced manner.

Abstract: A method and means of safely securing valuables in the form of a break-away handbag. Removable reattachable adjacent bag segments are mounted to each other by means of snaps, VELCRO or the like. One or more bag segments act as a decoy and are positioned facing out and away from the body of the handbag holder while other adjacently placed bag segments designed to hold valuables are positioned more proximate to or up against the handbag holder's body. A shoulder strap is attached to a decoy bag segment and is hung over the user's shoulder. Cavities created between each of the adjacent bag segments are capable of enveloping the handbag holder's hand. When an extraordinary pulling force is exerted upon a decoy bag segment or segments, they will separate from the adjacent valuables bag segment or segments and said valuables bag segment or segments will be retained against or between the handbag holder's hand and body.

Abstract: A suitcase frame (1) provided with means to carry luggage and a document suitcase as well. The frame is provided with carrying wheels (6, 7) pivotable between a position inside the frame (1) and an operable position outside the frame (1). The wheels (6, 7) are actuated by the handle (10) of the suitcase frame (1).

Abstract: A multiple use commuter case or bag which may be attached to a handle or the like of another bag, case, etc. This case accommodates articles that may not suitably fit in a primary carrier such as shoes, foods, supplies, bulky equipment, or personal articles. The case affixes to the primary carrier by a strap allowing both articles to be transported as one. When the case in not needed, it can be detached, collapsed, and rolled up. The strap then fastens around the case so that it remains rolled up.

Abstract: A garment bag apparatus including a pouch for storing a collapsible garment bag carrier when not in use and a garment bag carrier storable within the pouch when not in use with the garment bag carrier including an interior compartment to hold miscellaneous items and a folded garment bag with the garment bag carrier including openings to permit the straps and handles of the garment bag to be extended through the openings so the traveler can carry the garment bag in a conventional manner. Closures on the garment bag carrier permit the handles and strap of the garment bag to be inserted into the garment bag carrier to permit the garment bag carrier to be used like a conventional suitcase when transferring the garment bag carrier from one destination to another.

Abstract: A doubled hanging garment bag is provided in which first and second garment bags, each with its own characteristics, are provided with a closure encircling the peripheries of the bags and permitting selective joining of the bags. Thus, when a larger amount of space is required as for the carrying of a larger number of garments, the bags may be joined together for handling as one. When a smaller amount of space is required, the bags may be separated and only one used.

Abstract: A carrier bag 1 has within a self-supporting smaller bag 3. The bags 1 and 3 are joined together along their common base 4. The smaller bag 3 has a closeable opening which is readily accessible to a user through the mouth of the carrier bag 1. The smaller bag 3 can be used very simply for accessories, including valuables but with security because it is essentially invisible.

Abstract: An expandable carrying case apparatus, having two pivotably attached members, each of which is substantially rectangular, and each of which is expandable. Expansion is accomplished by individualized displacement mechanisms deployed upon each corner of the members. Each of the displacement mechanisms is attached to a controllable driver which when actuated, expands or contracts an element of the case frame causing the exterior members to expand outwardly or contract inwardly and thereby increase or decrease the volume of the carrying case.

Abstract: Apparatus for temporarily attaching one object to another object which includes a channel on one object, a form on the other object which may be slidably inserted into the channel, a flap on one object, and means for engaging the flap on the other object. The objects are connected to each other by sliding the form into the channel and then engaging the flap with the engagement means. When engaged, the flap prevents sliding motion, and thereby ensures that the form does not slide out of the channel.

Abstract: Hand luggage comprising a substantially rectangular shell including two opposed major walls and an open end therebetween. A single rectangular drawer is slidably mounted in the shell. The drawer includes a front wall having a marginal flange that overlaps and completely closes the open end when the drawer is slid to its closed position. A carrying handle is attached outside the luggage to the end wall. Also, there is a means for detachably latching the shell to the drawer when the drawer is in its closed position.

Abstract: A dual carrying case for two generally trapezoidally-shaped musical instruments is disclosed. The carrying case comprises a pair of generally trapezoidally-shaped pouch members, each of which is longitudinally elongate and includes a generally transversely extending wide end, a generally transversely extending narrow end, and first and second generally longitudinally extending side edges. The pouch members are each adapted to receive and enclose a musical instrument therein, and each pouch member includes means thereon engageable with means on the other of the pouch members for releasably fastening one of the pouch members to the other of the pouch members, with the narrow end of each of the pouch members positioned parallel to, facing and adjacent to the wide end of the other of the pouch members.

Abstract: A piece of luggage is disclosed which consists of a case in the shape of a flat parallelepiped comprising two greater rigid lateral walls and a rigid quadrangular frame with an upper side provided with a curved handle, a base side and end sides. At least one of its lateral walls is movable, being provided with a rigid perimetral edge which slides telescopically within the frame. Displacement of this lateral wall occurs in a direction perpendicular to its plane between a retracted position in which it is located in the plane of the corresponding edge of the frame and a projecting position. The result is that the internal volume of the case is increased.

Abstract: Luggage of the type adapted to maintain articles of clothing, business materials and the like is disclosed having roller means along a lower edge thereof and a modular handle unit adapted to be extended away from the luggage to provide a pull handle therefor and further including an elongated strap adapted to be extended around an auxiliary piece of luggage to piggyback the auxiliary piece of luggage on the main piece of luggage.

Abstract: Expandable luggage which includes a case forming a first compartment and having a hinged cover, and a collapsible bag located at the top of the case and forming a second compartment to provide additional packing space when required. A removable panel is also attached to the top of the case, and the panel forms a pocket for the collapsible bag when the second compartment is not in use.

Abstract: Apparatus for temporarily attaching one object to another object which includes a channel on one object, a form on the other object which may be slidably inserted into the channel, a flap on one object, and means for engaging the flap on the other object. The objects are connected to each other by sliding the form into the channel and then engaging the flap with the engagement means when engaged, the flap prevents sliding motion, and thereby ensures that the form does not slid out of the channel.

Abstract: A bag combination having first and second independent bag units detachably connected to an adjustable shoulder strap, such that a first bag unit can be positioned under a person's arm and a second bag unit can be positioned diagonally downwardly across a person's back, with the adjustable strap therebetween extending diagonally upwardly across the person's front. Separate straps are provided for each bag unit when they are detached. Decorative and safety materials are incorporated in the bag units.

Abstract: A multi-compartment case, in particular such a case for air travel, features a rectangular parallelpiped shaped part with a handle on one narrow side and, projecting beyond the narrow side a tall part which is provided with a hinged lid on the front wall facing the other part and in its interior a device for hanging up clothes. The narrow side projects as a wall section out of a front wall of two tall case shells which are made mainly of light weight metal and are hinged together. The narrow side features connecting elements to secure a briefcase which, when joined to the case, makes the whole into a rectangular parallelpiped.

Abstract: An auxiliary carrying case is provided with an apertured upper extension of a rear wall thereof which can be bent over and placed over the handle of a conventional carrying case for the auxiliary case to be carried piggy back on the conventional carrying case.

Abstract: A releasable assembly is provided for connecting a pair of bags in a side by side abutting manner. The releasable assembly is comprised of a flat female member and a flat male member. The female member has a bottom side affixed to one of the bags and a top side with an open faced rectangular groove defined by spaced apart channel members. The male member has a bottom side affixed to the other bag and a top side with an outwardly projecting tongue for sliding engagement within the groove of the female member. The female member is also provided with an integral catch at one end which is engaged by a pawl member located on one end of the male member to securely retain the bags in abutting relationship. A peg at the opposite end of the female member is engaged by a notch at the opposite end of the male member to limit insertion of the male member within the female member.

Abstract: A flexible accessory bag (35) for releasable attachment to a lid or cover (20) on a container (10), such as an ice chest or cooler, which is pivoted between open and closed positions of the container (10). The accessory bag (35) has a pair of opposed ends (36, 38) which are secured by elastic bands (54, 56) to opposed lid ends (27, 28) and a pair of zippered pockets (40, 42) secured to the bag ends (36, 38) extend over the lid (20).

Abstract: A baggage set comprises in combination, a plurality of substantially parallelpipedic case elements of different sizes, at least one prismatic sloping case element, and at least one stepped case element having a side configured to present a stepped profile. The combination, when stacked in a predetermined manner, permits the baggage set to fill a volume dimensioned to substantially match that of a storage compartment of a particular vehicle.

Abstract: A garment bag includes carry handles centrally disposed on the outer surface thereof and a carry strap that is snap connected to eyelets for shoulder carry. Eyelets are centrally disposed on opposite sides of the interior surface thereof and may be used for snap-hook attachment of a utility kit. A pair of bottom straps and a pair of side straps may be employed to embrace a carry-on bag that is designed to fit within the arc formed when the garment bag is folded over. The strap lengths are adjustable, and the shoulder strap used for the garment bag may be removed therefrom and attached to eyelets at each end of the carry-on bag, thus permitting shoulder carry of the carry-on bag. A compact carry-on luggage assembly is formed all of which may be tucked under a passenger seat or in an overhead compartment. Also, the units may be quickly disconnected one from the other as may be necessary.

The insert may contain a hook (30) and stiffener (32) or these functions can be provided by a hanger (206) inserted into the rear pocket (202).

Abstract: A ball carrier system is provided with a ball bag of pliable material configured to receive a spherical ball and to assume a substantially spherical shape and a first cord for carrying the ball bag. The first cord is connected to the ball bag by a plurality of cords on the spherical outside surface of the ball bag extending along major circles from a first common minor circle to a diametrically opposite second common minor circle. The system includes an arcuate gear bag adapted to accept the ball bag for simultaneous carriage of both the ball bag and gear. The system is optionally adapted to hands-free carriage.

Abstract: An activity bag system includes an outer carrying bag, multiple interchangeable inner containers carried one-at-a-time within the outer bag, and a container storage cover for each inner container which also serves as a partition for the outer carrying bag. Each inner container is divided by partitions into compartments for carrying the items needed for a particular sport or activity. At least some of the compartments are covered by a lid to which some items can be secured. The outer bag includes a lower section which receives the inner container and an upper lid section separated from the lower section by the inner container's storage cover. The inner container is placed within its storage cover when not being carried by the outer bag. The outer bag includes straps for securing large items to its outside surface and outside storage pockets, including an insulated pocket for carrying a container of hot or cold liquid.

Abstract: A pair of saddlebags for a motorcycle or like vehicle comprising a pair of housings joined by a plurality of flexible straps which straddle the vehicle and suspend the housings on opposite sides thereof. Each housing has associated therewith a compartment formed by a protective cover within which buckles are situated to adjustably secure the ends of the strap originating from the opposing housing. Additional straps are adjustably secured to the housings within the compartments and are removably engagable at their ends with an adaptor on the vehicle frame. A mounting means on the vehicle seat mates with the straps to further secure the saddlebags. A pair of handles are included with each housing through which the housings may be carried either individually or in combination.

Abstract: A lightweight traveling bag having a garment bag portion, side bag compartment portions and a briefcase compartment portion, all fabricated from flexible fabric and all of which compartments are releaseably attached to the outsides of the garment bag portion for selective use in various combinations, wherein the garment bag portion with the side bag compartments and briefcase compartment attached can be folded lengthwise to assume the size and appearance of a composite piece of hand luggage for convenient carrying. The garment bag assembly can be released for unfolding to its full length for hanging in the garment bag compartment while traveling in a commercial aircraft or for hanging in an ordinary closet, a hook being provided at the upper end of the garment bag portion for this purpose.

Abstract: A modular stacking bag includes a substantially rectangularly shaped container having an open top and a cover hinged to the container for closing the open top. Spring clip members are secured to the upper edges of the container end walls and are adapted to be releasably coupled to similar spring clip members at the ends of a strap to thereby form a carrying strap for the bag. Alternatively, the strap can be passed through rings secured to the back of the container and worn as a belt. Each end wall is also provided with a plurality of snap elements which can be used to hold additional spring clip members. The spring clip members on one bag may then be releasably coupled to similar spring clip members on another bag to join two or more bags vertically or horizontally.

Abstract: A soft-sided carrying case or travel bag having individual business document and paraphenalia storage compartments, an umbrella storage retainer, and a compartment suitable for storing clothes is combinable with an improved garment bag which may be folded in half and retained in that position by a neck and collar configuration on the top of the bag. A strap structure on the garment bag is selectably attachable to the travel bag carrying handle, thus avoiding the need for any specialized hooks, rings, slips, buckles or the like on the carrying case.
