Abstract: A combination rack and carrying case for carrying and displaying sheets of paper such as sheets of music. As one of its sidewalls, the rack includes a swingable generally Z-shaped rack with outer and inner ledges for supporting the sheets of music. The outer ledge is operable when the rack is in a retracted position. The inner ledge becomes operational when the rack is swung to an elevated, extended position.

Abstract: A carrying case is opened to arrange in a planar relationship, the housing floor of each mirror image housing. The structure includes cooperative handle retractably mounted with each rear end wall of the first and second housing, with elastomeric bands mounted to exterior surfaces of the floors of the first and second housings for securement of bingo card members therewithin. Spaced chambers are formed adjacent upper terminal ends of the forward end wall to accommodate bingo components, such as bingo chips, pencils, and the like. A modification of the invention includes each floor formed with an underlying illumination member positioned longitudinally of and coextensively with a translucent sheet coextensive with an overlying transparent sheet, wherein a bingo card member is positioned between the translucent and transparent sheets for mounting and positioning in play of a bingo game.

Abstract: An item carrying case and portable writing desk which includes an exposed exterior broard surface of the case structured as a working surface having various writing materials affixed thereon. The case includes a handle to allow carrying thereof with one hand. The writing materials includes a removable paper note pad, a plastic writing surface from which pencil lead and pen ink can be easily removed with a cloth or finger, and a re-attachable pen and pencil. Also affixed to the exposed exterior surface of the case adjacent the paper note pad is a detachable battery or solar powered electronic math calculator.

Abstract: A bingo caddy useful for transporting and containing bingo player's paraphernalia including a pillow and slanted fold-out multiple playing surfaces with a holding device to hold bingo cards or the like and user friendly placement of marker's etc. The bingo caddy has a unique two section lid or top which folds into a compartmentalized configuration for easy access to all paraphernalia.

Abstract: A combined suitcase and portable ironing board comprising a pair of suitcase sections each including a closed end surrounded by side walls and an open end. The suitcase sections are pivotably connected to one another along a side wall of each section so that the sections can be pivoted away from each other to an open position with the closed ends in the same plane forming an elongated, contiguous, substantially flat ironing board surface. A panel extends outwardly from the side wall of one suitcase section opposite the side wall which is pivotably connected to the other suitcase section and has a substantially flat surface lying in substantially the same plane as the closed ends forming an extension of the ironing board surface. Means are provided for supporting the panel in its outwardly extending position and for retracting the panel through an opening in the side wall when the panel is not in use.

The portable insulated storage chest comprises first and second container sections, each having a base and plurality of wall portions defining respective first and second receptacles, a hinge for pivotally joining the first section with the second section, the hinge permitting the first and second sections to move between a closed position and an open position, a first lid for removably covering the first opening and a second lid for removably covering the second opening.

Abstract: A shopping cart desk is set forth including a first and second rigid plate with a flexible spine enabling overlying alignment of a first and second plate together with securement members to secure the first and second plates utilizing hook and loop fasteners. A plurality of aligned handles are positioned at uppermost edges of the plates for portability of the desk. Upon opening of the first and second plates into a horizontally aligned orientation relative to one another, first and second slide bolts secure the first and second plates in alignment to present storage, writing, and calculation facilities therewithin for use by an individual.

Abstract: A convertible carrying case and expandable essel is presented by a pair of three sided trays interconnected by a liner that includes two slidable panels engaged by the respective trays and an intermediate spine that encloses the open ends of the trays when they are closed on one another. A multi-position handle is provided on each tray to facilitate suspension and carrying of the closed trays as an enclosed case. They also provide separate adjustable supports for the two trays when they are in an open side-by-side positions as an expandable easel for displaying or viewing of articles positioned within the tray boundaries.

Abstract: A portable, folding ironing board including a case section and a hingedly attached nose section which nests in a side of the case section when the folding ironing board is transported, and the case section has an interior storage compartment for ironing accessories, such as an iron and ironing board cover.

Abstract: A combination briefcase and table arrangement includes a set of telescoping legs mounted at the underside of a briefcase body, so that the legs support the briefcase a certain height above a floor surface when the legs are extended. The legs are stored in recessed compartments that open at the underside of the briefcase body. A set of shelves are supported in a cover portion of the briefcase, for sliding movement between a withdrawn position at which the shelves are concealed inside the cover portion, and a working position at which the shelves project from the cover portion in a plane parallel with a top surface of the cover portion. The projecting shelves and the cover portion together define a flat table surface on which papers, tools, instruments and the like carried in the briefcase, can be placed at a work site.

The legs (52) cross each other thereby holding them rigidly in place with assistance of a non-slipping resilient bumper (60) on the end of each leg. The housing (32) is attached inside the case (20) with a housing cap (36) on one end and restraining means on the other consisting of a locknut (44), spacer (46), locknut with a lip (48), and an "O" ring (50). A second embodiment adds a separable leg extension (80), and a third embodiment adds length to the legs (52) utilizing a second telescoping leg (82).

Abstract: A combination packing case and desk includes a shelf unit adapted to secure a plurality of articles during shipping. A hollow seating member having an open bottom is adapted to be received about the upper portion of the shelf unit to protect the articles therein. An outer casing is provided with an open bottom and is adapted to be received about the shelf unit-seating member assembly in fully enclosed fashion. At the shipping destination, the outer casing comprises a base upon which the shelf unit is supported to form a desk. The seating member may be used in conjunction with the desk for tasks involving the articles shipped in and supported on the shelf unit.

Abstract: A unique, easily employable, portable, lap-oriented desk unit is achieved by providing securely affixing supporting cushion means to a housing assembly, which housing assembly comprises a work supporting surface and movable, fully contained illumination means associated therewith and movable between a first, stowed position, and a second deployed position, wherein said illumination means is in juxtaposed, spaced illuminating relationship with said work surface. In the preferred embodiment, the portable, lap-oriented desk unit also incorporates a secure, enclosed, storage zone in which any desired equipment for performing the particular work can be securely retained and stored for use when needed.

Abstract: A portable desk and article carrying structure is disclosed primarily for use by manufacturers representatives, sales people, and the like for carrying the various articles and tools needed for displaying, promoting and selling products. The portable desk and article carrying structure allows such articles to be carried into a store and is demountably positionable on a shopping cart of the type commonly used in grocery stores so as to provide a convenient surface for writing and accomplishing various other tasks at locations within the store.

Abstract: A top unit is provided defining a upper work surface and having front, rear and opposite side marginal portions. A downwardly opening cover also having front, rear and opposite side marginal portions is provided and the rear marginal portion of the cover is pivotally supported from the rear marginal portion of the top unit for swinging about an axis generally paralleling the rear marginal portions between a closed position closely telescopingly engaged over the top unit from above and a open position extending upwardly from the rear marginal portion of the top unit.

Abstract: An improved portable cooler and auxiliary table is the subject of the present invention. The cooler includes an insulated container having an openable top to provide access to the cooler chamber. In one embodiment, an auxiliary top panel is provided with U-shaped brackets at opposite ends which are selectively securable in receivers at the opposite ends of the container to secure the top in a position immediately overlying the cooler cover for storage. To place the auxiliary table in an elevated position of use, the table is removed from the receivers and legs are foldable from a stored position to a position of use and engageable in the receivers to position the table at an elevation above and parallel to the cooler top to allow access to the cooler chamber. The table may also be removed for use independent of the cooler. In other embodiments, the legs are extendible from apertures in the cooler side or end walls to allow the table unit to be elevated to the desired position and then secured in place.

Abstract: A writing board for use as an accessory to a brief or attache case has a main housing and four telescopically received auxiliary panels. The auxiliary panels may be telescoped outward to form together with the main housing a large surface on which to rest papers and files or telescoped into the housing in overlapping relationship to form a compact unit readily stored within a brief or attache case. The housing is formed of three parallel plates spaced apart to form two passages in each of which a pair of auxiliary panels is received. Strips of panel material, metal channels or special clips may be used to hold the plates of the housing in proper spaced relation. The two lateral auxiliary panels include pockets to secure papers and the edges of one auxiliary panel and the housing include lips to limit slippage of papers or writing tools into a seated user's lap.

The desk is useful in support of the activities of traveling business persons such as sales, engineering, and management personnel over and above such desk now known in the trade. The desk having structure to hold important items required by traveling business persons in easily accessible compartments and in a manner such that the items cannot fall out or migrate between compartments when the desk is being carried or shipped. The desk having a two-section cover, the sections being respectively arranged to be pivoted upward to provide access to the whole of the interior or to a part of the interior.

Abstract: A portable desk and briefcase includes a bottom member 20 foldably connected to a front member 16 and a back member 18. The opposite edge of member 18 foldably connects top member 38, which in turn is foldably connected to front flap member 42. Side members 26 and 28 are foldably connected to back member 18 along lines 30 and 32, respectively, which are spaced inwardly from the edges of member 18. Upon folding to form a briefcase, the folded side members, being inwardly spaced, support the other members in their folded positions. The side members are held in the folded position by securing means 78, 80. The top and bottom members each carry binders, and the front member carries, a plurality of pockets.

Abstract: A combination attache case and traveling desk includes a working desk top compartment which is formed immediately subjacent the largest wall of a case lid and is separate and distinct from the large central storage compartment forming the remainder of the attache case. The attache case includes hingedly connected box-like hollow base and lid members. In the improvement of the invention, when the case is in horizontal upright position, the upper or lid member includes a substantially flat horizontal wall defining the boundry between the major inner attache case compartment and the desk top compartment which is positioned subjacent the top peripheral edge of the lid. A substantially flat desk top compartment cover is hingedly retained on the rear of the lid and is sized to close flush with the upper peripheral border of the lid. The horizontal wall, peripheral border, and cover define a shallow compartment in which a writing paper tablet, documents and other writing or reading paraphernalia may be stored.

Abstract: A leafed holder for writing pad, papers and accessories includes a pair of like-sized covers retained together by an elongate hinge or spine connecting adjacent side edges thereof and a leafed member hingedly positioned between the covers and retained adjacent the spine, and having a substantially rigid planar surface on one side thereof adapted for use as a writing or organizing surface. A second surface of the leafed member opposite the writing surface includes document storage pockets thereon, and the leafed member is selectably closably retainable with one of the covers in a manner to keep documents retained therebetween.

It has an open topped compartment and a hinged cover for the compartment. Foldable supporting structure includes a fork shaped support for one end and a nose panel for a support in position when opened parallel to the fork shaped support on the other end, thereby forming a stand to remove the contents or to be used as a table. The second position is made by raising the nose to be horizontal and parallel to the floor and supported by an auxiliary leg structure on the nose panel and the case, thus forming an extension table or to be used as an ironing board.

Abstract: A device for determining tonal values of a graphic display comprises a mounting support which has a reference pin thereon and a positioning pin spaced away from the reference pin for example a radial line. A plurality of indicator members preferably in the form of wheels are provided and each of them includes a reference pin receiving opening to permit them to be rotatably mounted on a reference pin. In addition they include a plurality of circumferentially arranged defined images or word displays which have distinct characteristics in respect to tone or tint or color. The wheel is rotatable to present any one of defined areas with images or wording in a selected position for example an upright position for viewing. Each wheel also has a positioning pin engaging opening which may be engaged over a positioning pin defined on the support. This gives a selected orientation of one wheel and one or more additional wheels may be superimposed on the one wheel.

Abstract: Presented is a portable lectern which in its closed condition resembles a briefcase and which may be opened to provide a convenient self-supporting lectern for a public speaker.

Abstract: A box is designed in a size and shape which is convenient for holding any suitable equipment, such as camping and picnicking equipment and including such things as a tent and perhaps some simple cooking implements. The box has six panels which fit together in one manner to form a box and in another manner to form a table, which might be a picnic table, a bench and two spools, for example. When the panels are assembled in yet another manner, they form a compact luggage-type unit for easy carrying. A feature of the invention is that all parts are reusable and that the various configurations fit into preexisting geometrical constraints such as the trunks of cars, and the like.

Abstract: The invention disclosed herein is a portable case-like unit useful in the practice of crafts and hobbies, which unit comprises a base containing a working surface and storage compartments and a cover to enclose said working surface and storage compartments. The outside front wall of the base adjacent to the working surface and facing the user is substantially the same height as the top of the working surface, whereby the working surface is easily accessible by the craftsman or hobbyist. The cover contains means for preventing contents of the storage compartments from being displaced therefrom when the unit is carried.

Abstract: A portable cot and table which folds into a carrying case in which bedding or other equipment may be packed for travel and storage. Extensions may be added to the basic cot so that the length of the cot can be increased to accommodate the particular person using it. The legs are extensible so that the flat sleeping surface can be raised to the normal height of a table. Removable cups are provided for receiving each of the legs of the cot and the cups may be filled with a repellant or insecticide to prevent insects from crawling up the legs of the cot.
