  • Patent number: 9976608
Abstract: When a control retainer and a rotary retainer rotate relative to each other, a plurality of pairs of rollers received in respective pockets are pushed by pillars so as to move to their disengaged position. An anti-rotation arrangement is provided between an outer ring and the control retainer. The anti-rotation arrangement prevents the control retainer from rotating relative to the outer ring when the rollers are engaged, so that that the rollers does not move to their neutral position. This increases reliability. The anti-rotation arrangement includes a plurality of first protrusions formed on the surface of the outer ring, and a plurality of second protrusions formed on the surface of the control retainer axially opposed to the surface of the outer ring. Heat treatment is performed to the first and second protrusions so as to increase the hardness thereof.

  • Patent number: 9702418
Abstract: A rotation transmission device includes a two-way clutch which is selectively engaged and disengaged by an electromagnetic clutch. The two-way clutch includes a control retainer and a rotary retainer. The control retainer and the rotary retainer have flanges and bars formed on outer peripheral portions of the respective flanges and arranged so as to circumferentially alternate with each other with pockets defined between adjacent bars. Two rollers are received in each pocket. When the control retainer and the rotary retainer are rotated relative to each other, the rollers are adapted to be pushed by the bars to the disengaged position. An anti-rotation arrangement is provided on opposed surfaces of an outer ring and the control retainer member. The anti-rotation arrangement is adapted to prevent the control retainer from rotating relative to the outer ring while the rollers are in engagement, thereby preventing the rollers from moving to the neutral position.

  • Publication number: 20140017981
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for driving a body of a polishing head using an alignment gear. That is, an alignment gear, coupled to a housing of the polishing head, can transfer rotational force from the housing to the body responsive to the alignment gear being mated with a channel associated with the body. For example, the housing can supply pressure to the body, resulting in the body and the housing moving towards one another into a mated state. When the body and the housing are in the mated state, the alignment gear can mate with the channel (e.g., the alignment gear can fit within the channel). In this way, the alignment gear can drive the body by transferring rotational force to the body, resulting in the body rotating a semiconductor wafer against a polishing pad to polish the semiconductor wafer, for example.

Abstract: A foldable boarding ramp is operatively connected to a door opening provided in a body and is selectively extendable to the ground. The foldable boarding ramp is stored in a folded state inside a fairing covering a connecting portion between the body and a main wing. Thus, a reduction in the space of a passenger compartment and a cargo compartment due to the storage of the folded boarding ramp is prevented. In addition, an increase in air resistance can be suppressed without providing a dedicated fairing for covering the boarding ramp. Further, an interlocking member connects together a door for opening and closing the door opening and the boarding ramp when the door is opened. The boarding ramp may be automatically deployed to improve convenience.

Abstract: A parking pawl is implemented on a series type, hybrid electric vehicle by providing a transmission having a moveable locking plate. The locking plate is used to selectively engage and disengage from one of the power transfer gears of the transmission. While the locking plate is linearly moveable between engaged and disengaged position, it is locked against rotation and prevents rotation of the power transfer gear when engaged thereto. An electromagnet is used to pull the locking plate from an engaged position to a retracted, disengaged position. A compression spring biases the plate toward the engaged position with the rotating gear. The locking plate can be held in the retracted position by moveable locking pins to avoid any need to keep the electromagnet energized.
