The apparel has an inner layer and an outer layer positioned adjacent to the inner layer such that a surface of the inner layer contacts a surface of the outer layer. The insert elements is locatable between the inner layer and the outer layer. In some configurations, the outer layer stretches at least thirty percent prior to tensile failure. In order to secure the insert element within the apparel, a coefficient of static friction between the insert element and the apparel may be at least 0.70. In some configurations, a surface of the inner layer contacts and is unsecured to a surface of the outer layer in at least thirty percent of the apparel.

Abstract: Athletic training apparel useful for yoga or other sports and methods associated therewith. A pair of pants, which may be constructed from a lightweight textile base material and are relatively smooth, includes areas with an increased coefficient of friction to allow a wearer to use the higher friction areas to maintain a training position, such as a yoga asana. The higher friction areas may be formed by disposing a higher friction material upon the textile base material of the pants. In one illustrative embodiment, the higher friction areas may be placed on the portion of the pants that will be positioned on the inner thighs of a wearer. The higher friction areas may be disposed in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

Abstract: A modular garment system includes an attachment system for attaching multiple garments together. In one embodiment, the garment system includes an upper body garment that is attachable to a lower body garment. The upper body garment includes a plurality of connectors that are aligned with a plurality of retaining members on the lower body garment. The retaining members on the lower body garment, for instance, may be placed on top of existing belt loops. The retaining members may include a flap, while the connectors may have a loop-like structure. In order to connect the upper body garment to the lower body garment, the flap may be inserted into the loop-like structure and secured to the lower body garment. The upper body garment can also include a draw cord that can be used to further secure the upper body garment against the lower body garment.

Abstract: A ski pant gaiter includes a continuous piece of material defining a tubular shaped body having opposing first and second ends. The first end has an inlet opening and the second end has an outlet opening. The first end is configured for attachment to a pant leg. The ski pant gaiter also includes an elastic member extending around the tubular shaped body at the second end. The elastic member is configured to restrict a size of the outlet opening. At least one intermediate opening is formed in the tubular shaped body at a location spaced between the first and second ends. The at least one intermediate preformed opening is configured to receive a fastening strap of a boot that extends from within the tubular shaped body to an exterior of the tubular shaped body to provide a positive attachment of the gaiter to the boot.

Such a clothing article may include a garment that covers a pelvis region of a wearer. The rear side includes a rear flap that, when closed, covers the rear portion of the pelvis region. Abstract: Embodiments provide a waistband system including a flap of material coupled to a pair of pants at or near a waistband of the pants. The flap may be rotated (e.g., folded) between an extended position in which at least a portion of the flap rises above a waistline (i.e., top edge) of the pants, and a folded down position in which the flap is substantially or completely disposed in an interior portion of the pants below the waistline. When the flap is in the extended (folded up) position, the flap may provide a user of the pants protection from snow, rain, liquids, and/or debris, above the waistline of the pants. On the other hand, the folded down position may provide more comfort and/or aesthetic appeal.

Abstract: This multiple component invention comprises a shirt, pants and bodysuit, which are readily donned without the necessity of executing normal dressing movements. Although conventional looking, this adjustable clothing combination does not don in the conventional manner, this clothing combination opens fully, allowing the physically challenged individual to readily self-don without assistance. The need for bending one's knees, bending forward or downward, removing and replacing one's shoes, is eliminated. The donning of the shirt does not require the individual to fold their arms or raise them to the shoulders. The very nature of this invention and improvements over prior art, allows the individual who has become dependent on others, to return to a life of self-reliance, independently living on one's own. The attributes of this multiple component invention for the wheelchair bound or bed-ridden individual needing assistance, will aid the caregiver, lessening stress on the patient and the caregiver.

In particular, shorts belt loops of a shorts component may pass through an opening created when single-layer skirt belt loops of a skirt component are oriented outwards. Both the skirt belt loops and the shorts belt loops may be fully functional and aesthetically pleasing belt loops. Additionally, the shorts belt loops may be combined with the skirt belt loops to form integrated belt loops, thereby allowing a belt to pass beneath both sets of belt loops simultaneously to affix the shorts component to the skirt component.

Abstract: Provided is pants having a body-shaping function including; an elastic fabric included in the pants, and having a boundary that is partially fixed on the pants to elastically support hips of a wearer; and a hip-up band fixed on the elastic fabric to push the hips up so as to make contours of the hips more voluminous or compression bands on lower side portions of the elastic fabric in order to compress thighs of the wearer so as to make the thighs look thin, or a pair of pads having predetermined thicknesses and disposed on the elastic fabric to make the hips of the wearer look more attractive. Therefore, since the elastic fabric is integrally fixed in the pants for shaping the hips, the conventional girdle is not required. In addition, since the girdle in the pants only compresses the hips, it does not affect blood circulation around the belly, and is easily wearable. Also, the contours of the hips look more attractive due to the pads.

Abstract: Breakaway sport pants include right and left side zippers that do not have catch mechanisms. When the zippers are zipped, right and left connectors hold the front and back portions of the sport pants together and prevent the zippers from unzipping. However, when the right and left connectors are disengaged, the zippers easily unzip to allow removal of the sport pants. In an embodiment of the invention, the zipper pull tabs include a friction enhancing material that catches on the connectors and upper portions of the pants to prevent inadvertent unzipping of the pants.

Abstract: A thermal therapy garment that covers at least the lower extremities of a patient. The garment has an air impermeable outer layer and an air permeable inner layer. An inflatable air chamber is defined between the inner and outer layers. An inlet port connects to the chamber to allow inflation with conditioned air, which is exhausted through the inner layer over a selected region of the patient's lower body. A gown has a length sufficient to overlap a waist portion of the garment, The gown has an opening that coincides with the inlet port, thereby allowing a hose to pass through the gown and connect to the inlet port. In one embodiment, the gown has sleeves and/or a posterior portion that are heat reflective whereby the extremities are warmed to minimize the core to peripheral temperature gradient.

Abstract: Trousers and methods for reducing muscle fatigue, and overcoming range of motion restrictions in the legs caused by the friction created by trouser legs rubbing against the knee portion of a person's leg when they are moving are disclosed. In certain embodiments, the trousers and methods use (1) an engineered dart in the mid-thigh region of the trouser, or (2) a zipper to decrease the vertical linear fabric surface in the mid-thigh region of the trouser such that the resulting tension causes the trouser fabric in the knee region to lift out and away from the knee portion of the wear's leg, thusly eliminating or greatly reducing contact between the trouser leg and the wearer's knee and the resulting strain.

The waistband may have a first layer and a second layer that lay adjacent to each other, and the waistband may have a plurality of strand segments located between the first layer and the second layer. The strand segments extend at least partially around the waistband. Additionally, the strand segments may lay substantially parallel to surfaces of the first layer and the second layer for distances of at least five centimeters. In some configurations, the strand segments may be bonded to the first layer and the second layer along the distances of at least five centimeters.

Abstract: Porous adaptive membrane structures having movable membranes are provided. The structures can be made to change their gas, liquid and/or particulate permeability in response to surrounding environmental conditions. Applications include protective apparel that is comfortable to wear wherein the level of protection provided is based on conditions in the environment. Hence, the protective apparel is highly breathable and comfortable in a non-hazardous environment but impermeable or only semipermeable in a hazardous environment.

Abstract: A patch for a performance garment including a sheet of fabric and an elastomeric adhesive adhered to one side of the sheet such that the sheet may be applied to the garment, wherein at least one of the sheet and the elastomeric adhesive have an independent stretch greater than the stretch of the garment. Embodiments of the invention further include methods of repairing an opening in or reinforcing a garment using the patch, repair kits for containing the patch, and methods of making the patch.

The piece of protective material may be configured to protect a wearer from a sharp instrument such as a chainsaw.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved garment for capturing bodily fluids. In particular, embodiments of the present invention provide a garment including a main garment body configured to be worn by a wearer and a capturing panel having a receiving surface configured to receive bodily fluids excreted from the wearer attached to the main garment body such that the capturing panel covers at least a first portion of said main garment body. The capturing panel is made out of a natural material, has a thickness no greater than approximately 4 mm, and is configured to transfer bodily fluid received from the wearer away from the receiving surface. A fluid resistant treatment may be applied to at least a second portion of the main garment body, which second portion may be identical to the first portion. A odor-neutralizing treatment may be applied at least a portion of the capturing panel.

Abstract: A removable liner assembly for pants includes first and second separating liner members joined together. Separating torso covering sections are joined to form an entry opening by a separating zipper assembly having a zipper section secured to each torso covering section of the liner member. A zipper slide member secured to one zipper section engages and disengages the zipper sections. A pull cord member fastened to the zipper slide member is anchored to the torso covering section, near the box end of the zipper section containing the zipper slide member. The zipper sections are disengaged with the pull cord member. An individual wearing the removable liner assembly beneath a pair of pants disengages the separating zipper assembly by pulling the cord member. This separates the first and second liner members. The individual removes each liner member from within the pants through the foot exit openings.

The outer part constitutes the trousers and is formed by sub-parts joined at the seams. The inner part is arranged along a front part of the outer part and is joined to the outer part at the side and front seams. The outer part is made from a first material and the inner part is made from a second material, the first material having a higher elasticity than the second material. The inner part includes at least two stitchings extending from a first side seam towards the front seam, and at least two stitchings extending from a second side seam towards the front seam which follow the shape of an abdomen of a person wearing the trousers to thereby support the abdomen.

The multi-sectional waistband quick release undergarment includes a multi-sectional waistband having a first waistband section and a second waistband section for securing the undergarment to a wearer's body. An undergarment body includes a front panel and a rear panel, which are joined to the first waistband section and the second waistband section, respectively. At least a portion of the first waistband section is releasably secured to at least a portion of the second waistband section, and at least a portion of the front panel is releasably secured to at least a portion of the rear panel. When a predetermined breakaway force is exerted on the second waistband section, the second waistband section releases from the first waistband section and the rear panel releases from the front panel; and thereby provides effective protection against wedgies.

Abstract: The invention relates to garments and undergarments. More particularly, to a garment that may induce caloric burn while the wearer goes about his or her day. An objective for the garment is to increase exercise of body muscles used in daily living. In one embodiment, a garment and/or shaper is described with carefully positioned resistance bands that are relatively more resistant (i.e., less stretchy or elastic) than the fabric used to construct the remainder of the garment. At least two of these bands are positioned to extend from the thighs upwards towards the waist and cross at the ischium. These bands have a direct effect on muscles that would normally be activated during regular activity and cause them to be further exercised, but in a gentle manner. The effect, which may be slightly perceptible, is felt while the wearer goes about his or her day.

Abstract: A women's waistless and seamless clothing adherable underwear includes an oval pad made of a soft absorbent material, wherein the pad has double sided strips of adhesive tape with removable peel-off cover strips to attach to the inside crotch area of low slung clothing pants, such as tight pants, leotards or dungaree jeans facing upward to the skin and crotch of the wearer. The material is preferably a soft, non-woven, absorbent material. The underwear is particularly suited for women who wear tight pants, or low waist hip hugger pants, which widely reveal waist bands and seams of panty underwear, or expose underwear waist bands. The underwear is minimally intrusive and is attractive for women who like to wear jeans without underwear but who fear bacterial infection or exposure to clothing dyes or irritating stitching.

This conveys a perception that the pants are far below the waist. A securing mechanism associated with the undergarment stabilizes the pants to prevent them from falling down.

Abstract: Garments having one or more stretchable sections positioned in an otherwise relatively less stretchable (or “non-stretchable”) garment. Among other things, the one or more stretchable sections preferably provide improved wearability when worn by the user. The relatively more stretchable section or sections preferably are constructed of material that provides at least 4-way directional stretch capabilities to the stretchable material and are selectively shaped and/or positioned on an article of clothing in an area where the wearer's body movement may cause stress to the garment material. The relatively more stretchable material facilitates garment expandability, thus providing for improved garment wearability, increased wearer comfort, and extended garment life.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a garment worn during different stages of pregnancy and different stages of postpartum body changes. A garment upper portion has a belly panel that is expansible to cover and fit over a growing abdomen during different stages of pregnancy, and a garment lower portion having a first torso encircling circumference that recedes downward to make way for expansion of the belly panel. The garment upper portion has a second torso encircling circumference to hold the garment up and in place over the torso.
