Patent number: 7908671Abstract: A one-piece garment with elastic bands threaded through the binding at the leg openings that allows for custom fitting of the garment. The contraction of the elastic bands through the cord-lock fastener creates a drawstring effect and provides a gathering force upon the garment, which is held securely in place with the cord-lock fastener so that the lower portion of the one-piece bodysuit thereby shortens in length and tightens around the legs to form a snug fit. Once the desired length is attained, the elastic bands and the cord-lock fastener are stored in the back flap of the crotch in a separate compartment, or pocket, held securely closed during wear with a strip of hook and loop fastener. The one-piece bodysuit can be expanded as needed by releasing the cord-lock fastener and pulling the elastic bands back through the cord-lock fastener to loosen the gathered fabric, thereby extending the crotch length of the garment and the diameter of the leg openings.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2006Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Growables LLCInventors: Teresa K. Publication number: 20080307556Abstract: The following information relates to new methods of recycling clothing. Although the concept of recycling garments is not new, the new methods and the results of those methods are both new and unexpected. Rarely is the recycling of garments as practical and as easy as the methods to be presented. Additionally, these methods of recycling can enable apparel manufacturers, sewing boutiques, and even home sewers, to save money and time. Benefits include sewing as little as possible while having the effect that much sewing has taken place. Another gain includes the prospect of recycling garments that failed quality control inspections due to slight imperfections. By utilizing the new methods, a marketable children's apparel line can emerge, from what would normally be a loss. Consider the benefits of a new children's apparel line almost completely sewn before the new recycling methods begin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2007Publication date: December 18, 2008Inventor: Cristi Cannon Turney

Patent number: 7032247Abstract: A protective bib-garment system is described wherein a bib is detachable from the garment it protects, but can not rotate around the wearer's neckline. It thereby provides better protection and safety for the user. The bibs are easily attached or removed for separate cleaning when soiled. The danger of the user choking by having the bib rotate and tighten around the neck is generally removed. Better protection of the underlying garment is also achieved by keeping the bib anchored in front of the user. The system includes bib-ready garments in a wide range of styles, substantially any garment that could be worn by a bib user and is modified to accept the bib portion. These garments can be worn without the bibs and undergarments are protected from outside view or contact by the overlapping garment-bib interface attached to the inside surface of the garment.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2004Date of Patent: April 25, 2006Inventors: Kevin Frieswick, Melissa Frieswick
