Abstract: A method for plating a work piece includes forming a work piece, where the work piece includes first and second segments that are electrically isolated. The first segment is connected in a first circuit and the second segment is connected in a second circuit. The first circuit may include a first power source and the second circuit may include a second power source. The work piece and the first and second segments may be disposed in a common solution, and current may be applied in the first circuit and the second circuit to create first and second metal surfaces. The first and second metal surfaces may be made from the same base metal. The first and second metal surfaces may be created simultaneously, with the work piece and the first and second segments disposed in a common solution.
Abstract: A display device including a display panel, in which a display region including a plurality of organic light emitting devices and a non-display region adjacent to the display region are defined, a protection film disposed below the display panel, a first adhesive layer contacting a bottom surface of the protection film, and a supporting layer including a metallic material, at least overlapping the entire display region, and contacting the first adhesive layer.

Abstract: A new formulation of treatment baths for the etching of polymers prior to metallization or coating of the polymer using known technologies described in the state of the art, which are based on the use of salts and/or complexes of the Cr(III) cation, where the formulation includes a salt and/or Cr(III) complex in which the Cr(III) is coordinated to at least one or several mono, bi, tri, tetra, penta, hexadentate or bridging ligands that are coordinated to the chromium by the oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen atom or several of these atoms of the ligands, such that after the polymer piece has been etched with the Etching formulation described above, the metal coating is carried out by means of the application of chemical and electrolyte baths in the case of metallization, or by means of the application of paint or another organic coating.

Abstract: The invention relates to methods and plating baths for electrodepositing a dark chromium layer on a workpiece. The trivalent chromium electroplating baths comprise sulphur compounds and the methods for electrodepositing a dark chromium layer employ these trivalent chromium electroplating baths. The dark chromium deposits and workpieces carrying dark chromium deposits are suited for application for decorative purposes.

Abstract: An aqueous acidic trivalent chromium electrolyte comprising trivalent chromium ions and a complexing agent for maintaining the trivalent chromium ions in solution is provided in which the aqueous electrolyte comprises additives capable of producing a coating on a substrate having a desired dark hue. The additives typically comprise a dispersion of colloidal silica and an additional additive selected from thiocyanate ions and/or iron ions. The electrolyte is used in a method of producing the desired dark-hued decorative chromium coating on a substrate by electrodeposition.

Abstract: A process for galvanic deposition of chromium coatings is provided in which the base material is subjected to a galvanic chromium plating bath to form a hard chromium coating with beaded or columnar type surface structure, and the beaded or columnar type surface structure is subsequently filled and smoothed with galvanically applied black chromium. The resulting combined coatings yield increased wear resistance, lower friction values, even without lubricants, and increased corrosion resistance.
