Abstract: A green smart factory energy management system for carbon reduction, includes: an eco-friendly power generator installed on one side of a building to generate first electrical energy through wind power or sunlight; a water electrolysis device for receiving surplus power of the first electrical energy remaining after operating a building, and electrolyzing water to generate hydrogen; a hydrogen storage device for storing some of the hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device; a hydrogen fuel cell for generating second electrical energy by using some of the hydrogen generated by the water electrolysis device; a machine tool provided with an electrically driven spindle system to grip or rotate a workpiece when the second electrical energy is applied; and a distributed power management device for controlling an amount of power consumed.
Abstract: A novel electrochemical cell is disclosed in multiple embodiments. The instant invention relates to an electrochemical cell design. In one embodiment, the cell design can electrolyze water into pressurized hydrogen using low-cost materials. In another embodiment, the cell design can convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity. In another embodiment, the cell design can electrolyze water into hydrogen and oxygen for storage, then later convert the stored hydrogen and oxygen back into electricity and water. In some embodiments, the cell operates with a wide internal pressure differential.

Abstract: A membrane electrolysis cell comprising an anodic compartment and a cathodic compartment is described, wherein at least one of the two compartments contains an electrode fed with gas and a porous planar element is interposed between the membrane and the gas-fed electrode. A flow of chemically aggressive electrolyte crosses the porous planar element downwards under the effect of the gravity force. The planar element consists in a plastic element withstanding the aggressive operative conditions: The use of perfluorinated plastics such as ECTFE, PTEFE, FEP, PFA is preferred, even though they are strongly hydrophobic. When the gas-fed electrode is a cathode and the gas contains oxygen, the gas crosses the cathodic compartment upwardly so as to minimize the risk of hydrogen build up. The cell equipped with the oxygen cathode is particularly advantageous for the sodium chloride electrolysis.
Abstract: Pulping chemicals and hemicellulose are recovered from a starting solution essentially free of lignin but containing a mixture of hemicellulose and caustic by electrolyzing this solution in the anolyte compartment of an electrolytic cell. By electrolysis, the concentration of caustic in the anolyte is decreased and the concentration of caustic in a catholyte of said cell is increased so as to allow recovery, of about 60 to about 80 percent of the caustic contained in the hemicellulose caustic starting solution.
