Abstract: In alternative aspects, the invention provides electrocoagulation processes and apparatus in which the anode oscillates in the electrochemical cell. In some embodiments, this facilitates control of the mixing conditions at the electrode surface independently from the flow through the cell. A constant DC current may be applied in the electrocoagulation, so that as the anode moves closer to a cathode, the cell voltage will oscillate. This may for example be carried out to provide a comparable degree of electrocoagulation with a net reduction in the energy consumption compared to a non-oscillating cell.
Abstract: Electrocatalyst, electrode coating and an electrode for preparing chlorine and process for producing the electrode, the electrocatalyst comprising a noble metal oxide and/or a noble metal of transition groups VIIIa of the Periodic Table of the Elements and at least one finely divided pulverulent oxide of another metal, in which one or more components are doped and the base metal oxide powder is chemically stable in the presence of aqueous electrolytes.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and apparatus for dehumidifying, drying or the like of different materials. The invention is developed primarily for dehumidification of sewage sludge (7), but it may be utilized for many different materials including foodstuffs as crispbread and pasta. The sludge (7) or other material is dehumidified or dried in a chamber (1) by means of thermal radiation. The thermal radiation is given by means of one or more elements (2) for thermal radiation. The thermal radiation is concentrated to one or more distinct wavelength ranges at which water has peaks for absorption of radiation energy. Air is circulated in the chamber (1), to take up moisture evaporated from the material.
Abstract: A process for producing metallic lithium starting from an aqueous solution of at least one lithium salt comprises the following steps:
(I) Production of a lithium amalgam from an aqueous solution of at least one lithium salt; and
(II) Electrolysis using an anode comprising the lithium amalgam, a solid electrolyte which conducts lithium ions, and liquid lithium as cathode, wherein the lithium amalgam as anode is kept in motion.
