  • Patent number: 4465184
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cigarette case formed as a single structure from a suitable plastic material and having three wall sections hingedly interconnected so as to be folded along the cooperating hinge members defined by an integrally formed web member. The three wall sections provide an elongated rear wall having a plurality of elongated contiguous channels, a lower front wall having matching contiguous channels that form elongated compartments with the channels of the rear wall when in a closed mode. An upper front-wall member for access is formed having aligned matching channels which, when closed, provide a substantially sealed cigarette case. A first latching arrangement is provided between the rear and lower front walls, and a second latching arrangement is provided between the upper and lower front walls.

  • Patent number: 4207976
Abstract: A cigarette package comprises a body 20. The body includes a plurality of bores 26 which are divided by a membrane 32 into a cigarette containing chamber 34 and a cigarette butt receiving chamber 36. Each chamber 34 contains an unsmoked cigarette 6. When a butt 10 is pushed into a butt receiving chamber 36, it engages and pushes an unsmoked cigarette 6 up past the top surface 28 of body 20 to allow that cigarette to be manually removed. This discourages littering of cigarette butts 10. Alternatively, body 20 can be formed so that each cigarette 6 is movable without having to store cigarette butt 10 in one of the chambers 36.
