A spun-bonded polyester strip is positioned near the open end of the polyester pocket to prevent atmospheric contaminants from entering the polyester pocket. The spun-bonded polyester strip also allows the polyester pocket to lay flat when multiple polyester pockets are stacked upon one another. The thickness of the spun-bonded polyester can be made to roughly correspond to the thickness of documents inserted into the polyester pocket.

Abstract: A gift card presenter includes a base portion folded along a fold line and having an inner and outer surface. A support portion is folded along a fold line and includes opposite ends on either side of the support portion fold line, which are secured to the inner surface of the base portion on opposite sides of the base portion fold line. The support portion defines an opening adapted to receive and support a card, which travels through the opening until it engages the base portion. The unfolding of the base portion causes the support portion to unfold and move toward the base portion, which forces the card back through the opening and outward from the support portion, thus creating a pop-up effect.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispersing a fragrance compound. The apparatus includes a fragrance compound impregnated porous carrier with a film wrapped there about to form an envelope hermetically sealed along at least a first seam in the film. The film is perforated with at least a first slit to define a vent opening removable portion retained to the envelope with at least a first tab of film bridging the first slit. A film vent closure is adhesively applied to the envelope about the vent opening removable portion, thereby forming a substantially complete hermetic seal of the interior of the envelope about the porous carrier. Upon removal, the film vent closure adhesively pulls the vent opening removable portion from the envelope, and the first tab of film is torn, so as to form a vent opening in the envelope, and thereby enabling the fragrance compound to disperse through the vent opening.

Abstract: An electromagnetic shielding carrying case comprising a substantially rigid first and second shielding member hingedly connected to one another and each having an inner and outer surface. Each shielding member comprises a card pocket assembly affixed to their respective inner surfaces into which a plurality of contactless smartcards or regular wallet-sized cards can be slidably inserted and removed. A paper currency pocket is disposed along the outer surfaces of first and second shielding members, and a releasable locking means keeps the first shielding member pivoted closed over top of the second shielding member so the case cannot accidentally open, and shields contactless smartcards contained inside the card pocket assemblies from being powered up by an RFID reader, while also preventing the cards from sliding out of the case.

Abstract: A gum packaging design that utilizes two separate compartments, an upper compartment and a lower compartment. Each of the compartments may be formed from a separate paperboard blank. The blanks are folded to form the compartments and then the lower compartment is adhered to the upper compartment in a fashion that allows the lower compartment to be later separated therefrom by tearing along a perforation after the lower compartment is emptied. A cover flap on the upper compartment can be used to hold the package in a compact, closed position by folding the compartments to face each other and tucking an end into a receiving slot formed in the back panel of the lower compartment. Once the lower compartment is separated from the upper compartment, the same cover flap can be used to close the remaining package by tucking the same end of the cover flap into a receiving slot formed in a front panel of the upper compartment.

Abstract: Self-retaining shim apparatus and methods for providing an offset surface for supporting a template above a contoured workpiece such as the frame of an aircraft are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a shim portion of substantially uniform thickness, and one or more biasing members secured to the distal end thereof and extending toward the proximal end. A work piece is positioned between the biasing member and shim portion such that the biasing members are elastically deformed, resulting in a restoring force exerted on the workpiece serving to retain the shim in engagement with the workpiece. Contact pads secure to the free ends of the biasing members and have a contact portion offset from the free end. The contact portion is rounded to facilitate mounting and retention of the self-retaining shim.

Abstract: A card holder and dispensing device comprises a rectangularly shaped frame member including upper, lower and side perimeter segments. These form an enclosure into which is placed a plurality of, typically, plastic cards. The upper and lower segments form an open area which is less than the surface area of the cards so that they can't be removed through these openings. A card retention tab extends from one of the side perimeter segments beyond the enclosure formed by the frame member. This restrains movement of the cards out of the card insertion opening. One of the top frame segments includes a tab section which is typically biased downward into the enclosure volume to exert a downward force on the stored cards. This permits the user to move one or more of the cards partially out of the enclosure until the desired card is reached and assists in the removal of the desired card. The tab section can be variously shaped, sized and contoured to accommodate printed indicia.

Abstract: A card carrier and presentation device that can assume a flat 2-dimensional configuration and be deformed into a 3-dimensional configuration. The flat configuration is used to carrier the card on a rack for vending. When the card and device is purchased, the card can be removed and inserted into the device after it is deformed into the 3-dimensional configuration. The card can become part of the 3-dimensional structure. The device can be transparent and have optional artwork on a surface that can optically interact with artwork on the card when the device is in the 3-dimensional configuration to create a combined visual effect.

Abstract: A low cost document holder automatically illuminates a document under low light conditions. An energy-saving system having a switch that turns on a lamp when a front cover is at an angle to a rear cover of between 45 and 135 degrees. The lamp is turned off when the angle is less than 45 degrees or greater than 135 degrees to prevent battery drain when the holder is left open or cannot completely close. Optimized lamp positioning places a centerline of a cone of illumination at a maximum of thirty degrees from the front cover to enable use of a low wattage lamp. The resultant low battery drain enables the components to be permanently enclosed in a document holder cover that has the appearance, dimensions and thickness of standard document holders. Advantages of components enclosed within a cover are reliability, ease of cleaning, market entry and low cost manufacture.

The wall mount clip will not damage the sheet materials because the resilient is smaller than that generated by conventional clips.

Abstract: The present invention provides a standardized mechanical interface (SMIF) reticle pod that is configured to provide a controlled environment for supporting a reticle wherein the controlled environment is maintained substantially free of crystal growth causing contaminants. Accordingly, there is provided a layered filter with filter elements capable of filtering particulates and adsorbing gaseous contaminants. The filter has an inwardly facing face generally planar shaped with a surface area that is substantially half or more of the area of the reticle face. The inwardly facing face is placed in close proximity to the reticle patterned surface and has an area that is a significant fraction of the reticle patterned surface area. The SMIF pod is also provided with a purge system configured to inject a very dry gas within the controlled environment to flush the controlled environment of contaminants as well as to regenerate the filter.
