Abstract: A holder for removably supporting a compact disk. The compact disk is held by its center opening over a post and under a ridge on the outer surface of the post. As the top of the post is pushed downwardly, the outer surface of the post moves inwardly and the ridge compresses and moves downwardly and allows the opening in the compact disk to pass over it. The compact disk is thus easily removed by simply pushing the center of the disk holding post. Preferably, the grooves are spiral shaped.

Abstract: A cassette for receiving a compact disc has a housing including a base and a cover whereby the cover is pivotably connected with the pivot connection to the base for opening and closing the housing. A plate insert is positioned in the housing and has securing elements for securing at least one compact disc thereat. The base has a rectangular bottom with opposite longitudinal edges. The base has upwardly extending first sidewalls connected to the longitudinal edges. The cover has a rectangular top wall extending parallel to the bottom. The top wall has opposite longitudinal edges with sidewalls connected thereto. The second sidewalls extend downwardly when the housing is closed. The plate insert has a rectangular base plate with opposite longitudinal edges. The rectangular base plate has lateral projections in a plane of the base plate at the longitudinal edges in an area where a compact disc secured at the plate insert is closest to the longitudinal edges.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical distribution container is provided having a sleeve and a tray. The tray has four walls, also known as sidewall portions, each preferably of a trapezoidal configuration. At least a portion of the thickness of each of the opposed first and third sidewall portions is greater than the thickness of each of the opposed second and fourth sidewall portions. The sleeve has a top surface, a bottom surface and two end surfaces, each preferably of a rectangular configuration. A pharmaceutical retaining means is provided, with this component secured between opposing portions of the sidewall of the tray in respective recessed portions. Additionally, the pharmaceutical retaining means is formed having a rod with two end caps, one of which is preferably fixed while the other is preferably removable.

Abstract: A ring tray includes a frame having a peripheral supporting wall, a supporting structure connected within the peripheral supporting wall, the supporting structure including a plurality of through holes therein, and a plurality of intersecting walls connected within the peripheral supporting wall and formed on the supporting structure so as to define a plurality of recesses; and a plurality of pads removably mounted in the recesses on the supporting structure, each pad including a square planar support having an opening therein and removably mounted on the supporting structure in alignment with a respective through hole, and a hollow frusto-conical ring post extending upwardly at an acute angle from the support in surrounding relation to the opening therein for supporting a ring thereon.

Abstract: A display card for holding an item, wherein the item has an integral hinge joining a pair of molded item halves, each defining an interior surface, that are foldable along the hinge, wherein the card includes a bottom edge and an extended portion, contiguous with the bottom edge, configured for engaging the interior surface of one of the item halves when the item halves are folded together. In one embodiment, the integral hinge includes first and second hinge portions separated by a slot, and the extended portion includes a projection that is insertable through the slot. An aperture in the projection receives a post extending from the interior surface of one of the item halves. In other embodiments, the extended portion is insertable into a slot that is parallel to, or collinear with, the integral hinge, the extended portion including laterally-extending fingers that engage the interior of the item halves adjacent the ends of the slot.

Abstract: A clear plastic box cover hinged to a bottom member includes a relatively brittle clear (translucent or transparent) thermoplastic molded compact disc (CD) receiving tray, all of polystyrene. The tray has a central rosette of inwardly extending resilient fingers each with an upstanding shoulder for resiliently receiving a pair of overlying CDs on one tray side. The shoulders each have two spaced inclined disc receiving sections, one over the other, each section for receiving a disc. The uppermost disc receiving section overhangs and grips the uppermost disc. The lowermost disc is captured by an intervening overhanging section, the uppermost disc and the tray. A plurality of molded radially extending ribs stiffen multiple sets of pairs of opposing fingers to support the discs in case of breakage of the resilient fingers and which alternate with the resilient fingers.

Abstract: A compact disc holder combination includes a flat carrier having a positioning through hole and a pair of clasp slots oppositely disposed therein at suitable positions, and a pair of clasp seats. At least one of the clasp seats having a pawl for holding a compact disc. Each clasp seat is provided with a plurality of posts and insert holes on a rear side thereof. The clasp seats are fitted onto opposite surfaces of the carrier at the positioning through hole in such a manner that the posts of one clasp seat fit into the insert holes of the other clasp seat while the insert holes of the one clasp seat receives the posts of the other clasp seat. Their connection may be reinforced by welding or using an adhesive agent. Both clasp seats may be provided with a pawl for keeping two compact discs on opposite surfaces of the carrier. The grip slots facilitate placement or removal of smaller size compact discs.

Abstract: A cassette accommodating case in which a tape cassette can be inserted in either a forward or backward orientation, and for preventing slackening of a magnetic tape, and to secure the tape cassette to eliminate play. Positioning projections having inclined surfaces are provided on each side of a casing section. When the casing section and a cover section are closed, the inclined surfaces abut against the ends of side projections on side surfaces of the tape cassette to push the tape cassette when the casing and cover sections are closed. A rotation-preventing projection of an accommodating case protrudes into a common area of the hubs when a cassette is loaded in the forward and backward orientations, and the projection includes two plate-like portions of different heights, disposed in parallel, and with a predetermined interval therebetween. A distal end of the long plate-like portion has a guiding inclined surface for correcting the positional offset of the hub by contacting its inner peripheral surface.

Abstract: The dispensing system disclosed herein is adapted to dispense T-shirt type plastic film bags of the type having an openable mouth and loop handles extending upward on either side of the mouth, the handles being linked at their upper ends by a tearaway strip extending between them. The stack of bags are retained in a cartridge formed of a stiff web member which is folded to provide front and back panels enclosing the upper ends of the handles and the tearaway strips. The back panel has a tongue which is folded under the tearaway strips and which then extends upward parallel to the front panel. The upwardly extending portion of the tongue also holds a retaining strip provided at the upper end of a resilient apron-like member which extends downwardly covering the mouths of the bags so that a user is directed to extract a bag by grasping its bottom rather than the mouth which can cause several bags to be removed unintentionally. The apron carries advertising text and preferably, also a pad of discount coupons.

Abstract: Flexible strip on which the electrical connectors are arranged at uniform intervals and placed mechanically without the aid of adhesive substances and/or fixing elements. The strip has, at uniform distances, openings in which the electrical connectors are placed; the contour of the openings is studied so as to ensure simple and reliable containment of the connector and an equally easy and immediate extraction thereof. The contours blanked in the flexible strip are mostly provided, at their ends, with oppositely arranged protrusions that face the mostly circular openings of the connectors in order to retain them. Other mostly circular openings are blanked in the flexible strip at a constant pitch, mostly alternated with the openings for positioning the electrical connectors, and are used for the traction and positioning of the strip in the apparatus for automatically fixing the connector to the electrical conductor.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette-accommodating case having an index card which is deformed into a configuration optimally suited to an enlarged-thickness portion of a magnetic tape cassette. The index card has a slit formed in a vicinity facing a recessed portion of the cassette-accommodating case.

Abstract: A packaging system for displaying merchandise on a rack system having a rack member. At least two pieces of merchandise are intended to be displayed together on the rack system. Each of the pieces of merchandise has a reinforcing member secured in the merchandise to provide at least one reinforced opening through each piece of the merchandise. A coupling mechanism extends through the reinforced opening in each piece of merchandise securing the pieces of merchandise to each other and supports the pieces of merchandise on the rack member. The at least two pieces of merchandise can be displayed on the rack system by hanging the coupling mechanism on the rack member and the at least two pieces of merchandise can be removed from the rack member and inspected and tested without affecting the attachment of the pieces of merchandise to each other.

Abstract: In a packaging structure, a tongue-like portion is formed in one end portion of a base to extend toward an end of the one end portion. A wristwatch, having a pair of watchbands with a band keeper being provided on one of the bands, is placed on the base, and the tongue-like portion is inserted into an opening of the band keeper through a gap of the band keeper and the corresponding watchband. A pillow portion is formed in the one end portion of the base at a region which is nearer to the end of the one end portion than the tongue-like portion. The pillow portion covers the tongue-like portion, and an extending end of the one of the watchbands lays on the pillow portion in a longitudinal direction of the base.

Abstract: The invention is a dual purpose adapter insert for holding an optical disc. The adapter insert can be used in the lid section of a standard jewel case thereby enabling the standard jewel case to hold two optical discs. The adapter insert can also be used in a paperboard package by sliding the corners of the insert into the slots in the paperboard package.

Abstract: A display card for holding an item attached to the card for display has a flat surface defining a top edge and a bottom edge, wherein the item is a butterfly-molded item having an integral hinge joining a pair of molded item halves that are foldable along the hinge, wherein the card includes a pair of opposed, inwardly-pointed attachment fingers defined by a notch that interrupts the bottom edge, one of the fingers being a foldable finger that is foldable along an angled crease between a folded position directed away from the notch and an extended position directed toward the other finger, whereby, when the foldable finger is in its extended position, the fingers are disposed and oriented so as to be capable of being removably captured between the item halves under the integral hinge, with a portion of the item fitting in the notch when the item is folded with the fingers disposed between the item halves.

The retention flaps (19a, 19b) retain the lamp and support the legs in case of vibration or shock due to transport.

Abstract: A tape cassette container casing includes a casing main member having a tape cassette housing recess for housing a tape cassette and a lid formed as one with the casing main member via a hinge. The tape cassette housing recess has a reel holding protrusion formed on its bottom surface. The reel holding protrusion is engaged in a reel hole of a tape cassette for inhibiting idle rotation of a tape reel having a magnetic tape wound on it. A protrusion is formed at a position on the bottom surface of the tape cassette housing recess of the casing main member registering with a mouth portion of the tape cassette for delimiting the loading direction of the tape cassette. With the tape cassette container casing, the lid may be closed onto the casing main member only when the tape cassette is housed in the correct position for preventing damages to the magnetic tape.

Abstract: A package for sterile delivery of medical implants such as vent tubes includes a compartmented tray, a lid connected with the tray by a living hinge, and one or more posts projecting from a bottom wall of one of the compartments for retaining a medical implant in a substantially fixed position. A groove can also be formed in the tray for aligning a forceps with the medical implant to facilitate grasping and removal of the medical implant.

Abstract: A disc storage device is provided with a panel (10) having a disc receiving surface (16) which includes a retainer disposed thereon for receiving a disc having a central opening (12). The disc retainer includes a circular arrangement of alternating spring fingers (22) and substantially rigid posts (26) extending upwardly from the disc receiving surface and through the disc central opening, to contact the central opening edge and maintain the disc in place during transport and storage. Enhanced structural integrity of the device can be provided by connecting the posts (26a, 26x) together at the central opening.

Abstract: A container for a tape cassette of approximately parallelepiped form having an elevated head part is formed with a bottom wall and a lid wall which can move with respect to each other by means of hinge devices. In this arrangement, if appropriate, one of said walls is provided with a pocket for receiving the elevated head part and has a decreasing wall thickness along its transverse axis from its outer longitudinal edge in the direction of the axis of the hinge devices or of the pocket. The other wall may likewise have a wall thickness decreasing in the same direction. The inner face of the wall provided with the pocket may also be arranged parallel, at least with respect to the inner face of the front wall of the pocket. The container can be used advantageously for any cassette of the type more precisely specified above for audio, video and/or data recording, since a minimal overall height of the container is achieved with minimal use of material.

Abstract: A storage apparatus for tool sockets includes an elongated rack having affixed thereto a plurality of attachment mechanisms each provided with a guide channel and upstanding central cam element. A mounting member connected to each attachment mechanism includes a stub adapted to accommodate the square bore of a tool socket, with a transverse bore in the stub having a normally freely movable ball therein. Arcuate movement of the mounting member atop its attachment mechanism is limited by a tab on the mounting member disposed within the attachment mechanism guide channel. In an at rest condition, the tab is biased upwardly by a spring intermediate the attachment mechanism and mounting member.

Abstract: A display package for a circular saw blade or similar article having an aperture including a paperboard display card upon which is mounted the blade or article by means of a deformable connecting member which is reusable so that the package is also used for storage of the blade or article. The display card is provided with a pocket or pouch in which a portion of the blade or article is inserted such that an area of descriptive information is visible to a perspective purchaser. A length of protective material such as clear split plastic tubing is wrapped around the periphery of the blade or article to cover at least a portion of the saw blade teeth, and a layer of shrink-wrap is applied over the entire package.

Abstract: The invention concerns a case for storing compact discs. In accordance with the invention, this case is constructed in such a way that the interior part in the area of the clamping slots is provided with a profile closure strip in such a manner that the interior ridges separating the clamping slots from each other protrude farther into a direction away from the interior part than the outer ridges limiting the clamping slots at the outside.

Abstract: A surgical instrument rack is provided for improving the efficiency, quality, and safety of the processing and delivery of ring-handled surgical instruments. The rack includes a base having opposing front and rear panels, each having multiple slots therein for supporting the instruments. Each slot in the front panel corresponds to one of the slots in the rear panel so that the end of each of the surgical instruments having the ring handles can be positioned in the slot in the front panel and the opposite end of the instrument can be positioned in the corresponding slot in the rear panel. The instruments can thus be held in an upstanding, parallel, side-by-side arrangement. The base also includes apertures therein near the front panel for receiving a spindle such that the spindle may be extended through the apertures and the first ring handles of the surgical instruments to couple the instruments with the base.

Abstract: A case for receiving a tape cassette having a pair of reel hubs and front openings includes a case body and a lid. The case body is made of a synthetic resin or the like material and comprises a rectangular plate-like portion and a plurality of continuous side walls extending upright from along the sides of the rectangular plate-like portion. Further, the case body is provided, on either one of the upper edges of the opposing two side walls extending along the longer sides of the rectangular plate-like portion thereof, with a tape cassette reception operating section for allowing a part of a tape-shaped recording medium projecting from the tape cassette openings to be withdrawn into the cassette. The lid is made of a metal or the like and includes a rectangular plate-like portion and a plurality of continuous side walls extending upright from along the sides of the plate-like portion. The lid closes the case body by being placed over the latter.

Abstract: A unique clamshell-type holding and displaying member is attained which is capable of securely retaining an arcuately pivotable product therein, with the product being able to be tested prior to purchase, by incorporating product a holding and locking member which peripherally surrounds and securely lockingly engages one arm of the product. In the preferred embodiment, the holding and displaying member is constructed for securing scissors or shear-type products and the product holding and locking member is constructed to peripherally envelope one finger loop forming handle thereof, thereby assuring secure, retained interengagement of the product in the holding and displaying member.

Abstract: A cassette tape holder for preventing a cassette tape from unwinding during transportation that is of minimal size so that a large number of cassette tapes may be stored in a small space. The cassette tape holder includes a protective plate with two upward projections that engage the reels of the cassette tape so as to prevent their rotation. The cassette tape holder may then be used in place of a conventional, fully enclosed cassette container to lessen the amount of space needed to store and transport cassette tapes.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette storing case includes a cover member, and a casing member which is pivotally coupled to the cover member. Rotation preventing protrusions are so positioned that they are engaged with the hubs of a magnetic tape cassette whether the cassette is inserted in a first predetermined direction or in a second predetermined direction which is opposite to the first predetermined direction. Two pair of recesses for receiving the thicker portion of the cassette are formed in each of the major walls of the cover member and the casing member which, when the cassette is put in the storing case, cover the upper and lower surfaces of the cassette, in such a manner as to permit insertion of the cassette not only in the first predetermined direction but also in the second predetermined direction.

Abstract: A storage and dispensing device having a plurality of individual storage and dispensing compartments is provided. Each compartment is provided with a slidable mating opening through a wall of the compartment for slidably mating with an extending track. The compartments are adapted to be grasped and slidably moved along the track to separate the compartments and permit access to compartments opened thereby. The compartments are slidably returned to a non-separated position in which the wall of one compartment serves as a closure element for an adjacent compartment. The track may be an upstanding vertical rod requiring upward horizontal separation of the compartments in order to gain access. A plurality of these compartments, each having a mating opening for sliding along the extending track, act cooperatively to prevent jamming or sticking of the compartments as they slide along the track together. The compartments are rotatable with respect to each other and rotatable in unison around the track.

Abstract: A keybox capable of being oriented in a horizontal or vertical position is disclosed. Keypanels are maintained in the keybox and may be secured in either a horizontal or vertical extended position for viewing. The keypanels are slidably mounted in grooved tracks thereby being located upright and parallel within the keybox. Upwardly extending keyhooks are located on the keypanels for retaining keys. The keypanels are square so that the keyhooks may be located extending upwardly when the keybox is oriented upwards or sidewards. The keypanels are accessible through an opening in the keybox and may be slid out of the keybox to an extended position through the opening. Each keypanel may be secured in a horizontal extended position on the keybox by locating a lower edge of the keypanel on a shoulder of the keybox and securing the keypanel thereon by locating a retaining bar coupled to the keybox in a notch in an upper edge of the keypanel.

Abstract: A holding tray for spools of yarn suitable for embroidery machines comprises a molded body forming a flat horizontal base and a plurality of upstanding vertical pegs each of which is generally frustoconical in shape. At the top of each peg is formed a slit diametrically of the top surface and extending a small distance down the side surface of the peg at each side. An end of the yarn from the spool can then be engaged into the slit and the spool engaged over the peg as a loose fit. The pegs thus store twelve spools in two rows of six so that the spools can be carried from a storage area to, for example, a twelve head embroidery machine.

Abstract: A casing for housing a cartridge includes an upper half and a lower half which are formed in two parts and are assembled so as to be adapted to house a cartridge in the casing; an opening for allowing the cartridge to be inserted into the casing and to be withdrawn from it, which is arranged in one of the sides of the casing; and a holding portion which is elastically engageable with a recessed portion in the cartridge wherein the holding portion is connected to at least of one of the first half and second half.

Abstract: A container for storing a tape cassette of the type having a pair of spaced tape reel hubs. Each hub has a cylindrical sidewall which defines a recess in the hub. The storage container includes enclosure means for receiving and enclosing a cassette in the container. Diametrically opposed pairs of fingers are molded integrally with a bottom wall of the container and project into the hub recess through an aligned access opening formed in a bottom wall of the tape cassette upon placing the cassette into the container. The fingers are formed with a convex outer camming surface and are connected to the container by a straight leg portion. The convex outer edges of the fingers are engaged by the hub sidewalls and flex inwardly upon initial placement of the cassette into the storage container. A rigid stop member is mounted adjacent to and inwardly of each of the flexible fingers to limit the inward movement of the fingers toward the flexed position to control the flex thereof and to prevent breakage of the fingers.

Abstract: A small and lightweight, and thus hand carried storage case for a handgun is provided in a plastic rectangular container having a lockable lid. The interior chamber of the case is sized and structured for securely retaining a handgun in a stationary position. The interior floor of the storage case has a hollow cylindrical post over which the trigger guard of the handgun must be placed when inserted into the case. An aperture located on the lid aligns with the hollow post, creating a passageway through the case. The passageway is structured for retaining a small lock bolt which is retained in position with a conventional padlock. Once the lid is affixed to the case and secured with the locking apparatus, the gun cannot be removed from the case.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette storage case having reduced exterior dimensions of the cassette storage case and the magnetic tape cassette is prevented from rattling in the case. To assure that a magnetic tape cassette is properly inserted into a pocket portion of the case with one side end of the cassette inserted first, a groove portion is formed on the side wall of the cassette so as to allow one projection-shaped guide portion to be received therein, and a recess portion is formed on the inner wall surface of a side wall of a casing member so as to allow the other projection-shaped guide portion to be received therein.

Abstract: A cartridge for an implement is described for holding the implement and for permitting access by a tool to which the implement is to be mounted, the cartridge comprising a housing and a releasable block for inhibiting the implement from moving in a rearward direction out of the housing. In a specific embodiment, the cartridge is a scalpel arming cartridge for holding a scalpel blade wherein the releasable block is a rearward releasable block for inhibiting the blade from moving in a rearward direction and out of the housing.

Abstract: A display package, enabling a user to manipulate a tool having a pair of tool openings that is positioned within the display package. The display package has a base and a plate having a plate opening having an edge. A first support element extends from the base to the plate where the first support element expansively engages the edge of the plate opening. A second support element is also present that extends from the base to the plate, where the first support element has a portion of a size to be inserted through the first tool opening and the second support element has a portion of a size to be inserted through the second tool opening.

Abstract: In the bag pack disclosed herein, a stack of T-shirt type plastic film bags are held in a paperboard cartridge which is folded to provide front and back panels bridged at the top. The back panel has a cutout tongue which is folded forward under tearaway strips linking the top ends of the bag handle portions. The tongue retains the tearaway strips in the cartridge as individual bags are torn downwardly from the pack.

Abstract: A shirt storage and package apparatus for the shipping, storage, and display of shirts is described. The apparatus, preferably made of integrally molded polyvinylchloride plastic to insure visibility, includes a top cover having a generally rectangular shape; an upright collar insert integrally molded within and perpendicular to the plane of the cover; a bottom cover substantially identical to and placed opposite in orientation to the top cover; a means for moving the top and bottom covers between an open and a closed position; and a means for releasably locking the top and bottom covers to one another. The upright collar insert is adapted to fit within a shirt collar, thereby maintaining the the shirt in a non-crushable position. Two shirts can be accommodated in a back-to-back position and opposite orientation from one another within each apparatus, thereby allowing easy user and consumer inspection.

Abstract: A merchandise display strip includes an elongated plastic strip having a mounting portion and an article suspending portion. The article suspending portion includes a first panel, a second panel, and fingers on each of the panels for suspending an article from a respective one of the first and second panels. A fold line separates the first and second panels and enables these panels to be folded in relation to each other so that at least two articles can be supported by the article suspending portion, one from each of the two panels. A third panel is provided on the article suspending portion such that it is interposed between the first and second panels and the mounting portion. The mounting portion enables the merchandise display strip to be supported from a pricing channel, a shelf, or a hook. If desired, the first and second panels can be secured to each other by adhesive, by fasteners or by inter-engaging tabs.

A retention disc is snaped over the nose to retain on the holder a tubular article whose least lateral dimension is smaller than that of the body or of the disc.

Abstract: A cassette accommodating case adapted to store a plurality of magnetic tape cassettes includes a cover member having a pocket for accommodating end portions of the plurality of magnetic tape cassettes and a casing member having rotation stopping projections. The cover member and the casing member are pivotally assembled. The pocket includes a wall portion and a first recess portion for receiving a relatively thick portion of a first magnetic tape cassette formed on the wall portion. A second recess portion for receiving a first portion of a second magnetic tape cassette is formed at a position apart from the first recess portion on a wall portion facing the wall portion of the pocket. A positioning member for positioning a side of at least the second magnetic tape cassette is provided inside the case, such that the plurality of magnetic tape cassettes are accommodated therein while superposed upside down.
