Abstract: A modular post system, in some versions, includes an exterior post extending along a central axis. The exterior post may be composed of multitude of tube segments that are coupled, with each other to form the exterior post. In some cases, each tube segment may have at least four holes arranged in a ring about the central axis. The holes are configured to allow the mounting of articles, such as playground equipment, to the post system. Thus, the exterior post may have a multitude of rings with the rings being located in axial planes a fixed distance apart along the central axis. The tube segments have interior surfaces from which ribs protrude, to define an internal channel of the exterior post. An internal core post may be partly located within the internal channel. A fastening mechanism may secure the coupled tube segments to the internal core post.

Abstract: A balloon holding assembly includes a bottom support and an upper support each having a top side and a bottom side. A plurality of elongated vertical supports each has an upper end and a lower end. A plurality of couplers is attached to each of the upper and bottom supports for removably coupling each of the upper ends to a bottom side of the upper support and the lower ends to the top side of the bottom support. A cage is removably positionable over the upper support and extends downwardly from the upper support. Helium filled balloons may be positioned in the cage such that the horizontal wall prevents the balloons from floating upwardly away from the frame.

  • Patent number: 7155873
Abstract: A method and apparatus for connecting sections of a drilling rig substructure is disclosed. The disclosed invention is a unique structural connector in which sections of a drilling rig substructure can be connected together without the use of pins or pin-type connectors. The structural connector of the present invention utilizes specially-shaped fixed members connected to, and extending through, support plates that are attached to sections of a drilling rig substructure that mate with specially-shaped mating lugs that are mounted on mating lug plates that are attached to separate sections of the drilling rig substructure. When the sections of the drilling rig substructure to be connected are positioned together, the specially-shaped mating lugs engage the specially-shaped fixed members and form a high strength structural connection between the sections of the drilling rig substructure.

  • Patent number: 6971528
Abstract: A connecting structure for sectional rack includes a plurality of vertical posts, horizontal shelves, and connecting members. Each of the vertical posts is provided with at least one row of engaging holes, with which upper and lower hooks at an end of each connecting member are engaged. A pad is attached to each connecting member, so that a first side of the pad fitly bears against the vertical post. A second side of the pad opposite to the first side is a downward and outward inclined surface. Each of the horizontal shelves has an outer cover provided at each corner thereof for putting on the connecting member, so that an internal inclined surface of the outer cover pushes the inclined surface of the pad against the vertical post to enable a firm connection of the shelf, the connecting member, and the vertical post to one another.

Each slot is supported by a double-sided overlapping tapered reinforcing rib. The connecting corner further comprises a rail stop embossment which prevents each one of the rails in each one of the slots from making contact with another rail in another slot of the connecting corner. The connecting corner further comprises a corner base having four holes and a supplemental threaded hole. Each leg portion of each connecting corner has four holes which match up, and align, with the holes at each end of each of the metal rails, and a plurality of fasteners are used to secure each end of each rail in the connecting corner.

  • Patent number: 6902074
Abstract: A knock-down type support stand especially suited for aquariums or other heavy objects employs double walled support legs that are each formed of inner and outer sleeves of tubing. Upper and a lower horizontal frames act as supports for the objects. Attached to each outside corner of both of the frames is a corresponding one of a plurality of vertical hollow sleeves, each of which is of the same cross sectional dimension as the outer hollow sleeves in the support legs. The inner sleeves for each of the support legs are inserted into the vertical hollow sleeves in the frames, while the outer hollow sleeves for the support legs engage the top ends of the vertical hollow sleeves on the lower frame and the bottom ends of the vertical hollow sleeves on the upper frame. The stand preferably uses tight, friction fit tolerances.

  • Patent number: 6837389
Abstract: A profile-section support system, in particular, for industrial-fair and exhibition construction, has hollow profile-section supports (10) of polygonal cross section, which on at least one of their outer sides (14, 15, 16, 17), along the edges with ribs (18, 19, 20, 21), which between them enclosed grooves (22) with peripheral undercuts for anchoring fast-action connecting elements (43, 44, 63) for connecting further profile-section supports (10) or other parts, and which in the corner regions in the interior are provided with inner corner grooves (23). Spreading apart of the ribs (18, 19, 20, 21) with deformation of the hollow profile-section side (14, 15, 16, 17) enclosed between them is thereby possible. On outer sides (14, 16, 17) adjoining one another of the hollow profile-section supports (10), ribs are disposed. Two ribs (18, 19, 20, 21) on the edge, between the adjacent outer sides (14, 16, 17) of the hollow profile-section support (10), between them enclose an outer corner groove (24).
