Patent number: 8800792Abstract: A mechanical coupling, particularly in a draftgear in rail vehicles, includes a central plate (5) turnably mounted in a coupler head and having a link (7) pivoted in the same, and including a hooking mechanism for detachable hooking up of the central plate and the link in the non coupled position of the coupling, and a releasing device (10) for the automatic detachment of the hooking mechanism upon coupling. The hooking mechanism includes a hooking rod (12) pivotally connected with the central plate, which rod, by a lug (16), clutches a collar (11) arranged in the coupler head and, upon activation of the releasing device, detaches from the collar. A leaf spring (13) is arranged in the coupler head in order to, in abutment against the hooking rod, force the same, under the bias from the spring, to be pressed against the collar in the hooked up and disengaged positions.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2011Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Ego International B.V.Inventors: Anders Westman, Fredrik Hiswals

Patent number: 4893716Abstract: A claw coupling for toy model trains includes a coupling support head having a hook and a claw along with a pivotal support pivotably mounting the claw on the coupling support head for movement between a coupled and an uncoupled position. A decoupling pin depends from the claw, and the coupling support head has an opening in which the decoupling pin is received, the decoupling pin being engageable by a decoupling rail to raise and pivot the pin in the opening. The claw has two arms disposed generally at right angles to one another, one of the arms having the aforementioned hook, the other arm having the aforementioned depending decoupling pin. The coupling support head has a mandrel operable to be disposed in a position juxtaposed to the other of said arms of a claw of another like coupling to preclude the last said claw from pivoting to a decoupling position.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1988Date of Patent: January 16, 1990Assignee: Gebr. Patent number: 4765496Abstract: Claw coupling for electric toy and model trains, with a pre-uncoupling device with a claw, which can be swivelled in a horizontal plane and hooked from the side into a rigid hook of the respective opposite anchoring bracket, with a support pin resting in a borehole, which can be lifted out of its coupling position against the force of gravity in an upwards direction into an uncoupling position by a coupling cam of an uncoupling rail, which engages a downwards projecting uncoupling bolt, the support borehole and the support pin each being disposed at the outer edge of the mounting bracket or the claw and the mounting bracket having an approach mandrel for the inner arm of the claw of the respective opposite mounting bracket.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1987Date of Patent: August 23, 1988Assignee: Gebr. Patent number: 4344542Abstract: A coupling device for railway motor cars includes a pole or tongue on the motor car with a cam member pivoted on the distal end thereof. A coupling box with converging side walls is secured to the end of the trailing car and has a coupling pin extending from top to bottom. When the pivoted cam enters the box it is cammed by first, a sidewall, and then the back wall to pivot and hook around the coupling pin. During the course of this movement, a spring-biased locking pin rides on the flat, top surface of the cam to drop behind it when the coupling is complete, thus preventing reverse pivotal movement. A chain, is secured from the locking pin to an arm extending radially from a long shaft extending laterally to the side of motor car and terminating in an operating arm which, when raised, lifts the locking pin to release the pivoted cam for uncoupling.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1980Date of Patent: August 17, 1982Inventor: Pete L.
