Publication number: 20100051573Abstract: A hinge cap (10) fitted to a slant opening wall (26), which is provided around the opening of a hinge cap body (12), by means of two adjacently standing slant plugs (30, 32) of a lid (12). Because the slant plugs (30, 32) of the lid (12) are fitted by a large contact area to the slant opening wall (26) of the hinge cap body (12), the slant plugs can be applied to the hinge cap (10) having a relatively large area. Also, with the lid extended, the wall height of the slant outer plug (32) decreases as it approaches the rotation axis of the lid (12) and the wall height of the slant inner plug (30) decreases as it is away from the rotating shaft of the lid (12), so that the lid (12) can be smoothly rotated and opened in pressing and opening operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2006Publication date: March 4, 2010Inventor: Hiroshi Yoshihara

Publication number: 20100032401Abstract: The procedure for manufacturing bottles (2) containing fluids, particularly—cosmetic, medical, pharmaceutical products or the like, comprises a forming phase of a hollow body (4) having a dispensing mouth (5) that can be closed by means of removable closing means (8) comprising shutter means (10) that can be coupled with the mouth, the closing means being made in a single body with the hollow body. During the forming phase, the closing means are arranged with the shutter means substantially transversal to the direction of coupling with the dispensing mouth. After the forming phase a coupling” phase is contemplated of the shutter means with the dispensing mouth.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2008Publication date: February 11, 2010Inventor: Antonio Fontana

Patent number: 7658295Abstract: A closure system is provided for a container. The system has a body for extending from the container at the container opening. The body defines a dispensing orifice. A lid is provided for covering the orifice. The body has a bearing member with two spaced-apart walls for defining a channel for receiving a pivot shaft on the lid. At least one deflectable finger projects from one of the body bearing member walls for being temporarily, elastically deflected to accommodate the insertion of the lid pivot shaft into the channel. The finger is resilient, and moves back over the lid pivot shaft to prevent removal of the lid pivot shaft from the channel.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2005Date of Patent: February 9, 2010Assignee: Seaquist Closure Foreign, Inc.Inventors: Travis J. Patent number: 7651002Abstract: A closure device for a container, particularly a bottle, has a stopper called the service cap, arranged at the end thereof, on which a closing flap pivots. The closure device is provided with a locking system and cooperates with a hole in the sealed closure, or can be opened by pivoting. The closing flap has an opening device to guarantee the complete pivoting of the closing flap on opening, by a constant force and a constant movement without manual action of the user, immediately after the same has carried out a voluntary manual operation on the closing flap which is limited to releasing the locking system thereof.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2003Date of Patent: January 26, 2010Assignee: Plastohm S.A.Inventors: Pascal Hennemann, Philippe Lautre, Dominique Rusconi

Patent number: 7644843Abstract: A dispensing system having a reverse taper dispensing orifice seal. The reverse tapered seal depends from a lid of a flip-top closure providing a sealing engagement with a dispensing spout of the flip-top closure body when in a closed position. As the dispensing spout may have a variety of shapes, the reverse tapered seal is shaped to conform to the irregularities of the contacted surfaces of the dispensing spout. The decreasing thickness of the reverse tapered seal decreases the complexity of the molding process as well as minimizing the weakening or breaking of the seal during removal from the mold cavity.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2006Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignee: Rexam Closures and Containers Inc.Inventors: Randall G. Patent number: RE42943Abstract: A bottle cap is provided that allows for venting of gases generated in a bottle. A single or multiple ridges are formed on the inner surface of the cap top such that the ridges sit on the bottle mouth rim when the cap is threaded onto the bottle. A single or multiple slots may be formed across each of the ridges. Alternatively, a single or multiple grooves may be formed on the inner surface of the cap top. The ridge(s) or groove(s) may also be formed on a disc fitted over the inner surface of the cap top. When the cap is threaded on to the bottle, gases generated in the bottle can escape through the slot(s) formed across the ridge(s) or through the groove (s) formed on the inner surface of the cap top. A liner having an opening formed through its thickness may be placed in the cap. The liner opening allows the passage of gases from the bottle to the slot(s) or groove(s) formed on the cap top or disc.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2005Date of Patent: November 22, 2011Assignee: Innovation Update, LLCInventor: Woodrow W.
