  • Patent number: 11273964
Abstract: A closure includes a cap having a top wall and a skirt perpendicular to the top wall and extending downwardly from the top wall to a lower edge. The skirt includes an inner surface having a sealing formation. A band is concentric with and attached to the lower edge of the skirt by a plurality of frangible members. A tab is formed at a hinge location from the band and extending from the lower edge of the skirt to a pair of co-linear slits in the band separated by a frangible member. The tab is bounded by a pair of slits extending from the lower edge of the skirt to the pair of co-linear slits, with each of the pair of slits being separated from a respective first co-linear slit by a respective frangible member.

  • Patent number: 11161658
Abstract: The closure (1) has a cover cap (2), which is retractably formed on the closure (1) by means of a hinge (3). On the sides of the closure (1) and the cover cap (2), barbs (12, 27) are formed that yield outwardly, when shutting the cover cap (2) due to bulging of the cover cap (2) transversely to the closing direction. The barbs (12) on the closure (1) thus slide over their outer edge and then engage by elastic reversal of the bulge. The cover cap (2) is then fixed onto the closure (1) in a sealing and secure manner. The cover cap (2), using its front region, rests with its edge (11) on a step (9) on the closure (1). This edge (9) is slidable onto the plane of the step (9) by pressing on the front region in the direction of the hinge (3). This creates a bilateral bulge of the lateral edges (10) of the cover cap (2) so that the barbs (26) on the cover cap (2) disengage from those (12) on the closure (1).

  • Patent number: 9220332
Abstract: A cosmetic compact having a base, and a lid assembly having a window hingedly connected to the base. The lid assembly and window are movable between open and closed positions. A platform member carries the cosmetic product, and can move in the manner of a float between the base and lid assembly. A cam mechanism on the window in the form of depending lugs, cooperates with camming ramps on the platform member. Exteriorly accessible manually engageable grip members connected with the platform member, allow the latter to be rotated with the lid assembly closed. Such rotation effects a tightening of the seal between the window and the platform member, by virtue of the action of the window lugs on the platform member's camming ramps. Improved seal between the window and the platform member is accomplished by virtue of such tightening. In addition, the arrangement is such that the compact can be locked against inadvertent opening, simultaneously with the tightening and sealing action on the platform member.

  • Patent number: 8689989
Abstract: A drink bottle with a removable lid includes an inner lid attached to the mouth of the bottle and an outer lid pivotably mounted on the inner lid. A drink spout extends from the inner lid. The outer lid may be locked into a closed position covering the drink spout. A push button on the inner lid can be operated to release the locked outer lid, permitting the outer lid to open to permit drinking from the drink spout. The push button moves a lid slide that extends opposite to the hinge and contains an extension that engages with a notch in the upper lid to hold the upper lid closed. On actuating the push button, the lid slide is pulled toward the push button and the extension at the other end of the lid slide moves out of engagement of the outer lid, thereby opening the outer lid.

  • Patent number: 8651305
Abstract: A closure assembly for mounting on a container includes a base configured for mounting on the container and defining an aperture through which the interior of the container is accessible. The base comprises a perimeter, a separator mounted on and extending across the perimeter with the aperture being formed in the separator, and a valve positioned on the separator. The valve extends across the aperture in the separator, and is openable by the application of pressure on the valve and self-closable upon removal of the pressure from the valve. The assembly also includes a cover for selectively covering the aperture. The cover is mounted on the base and is movable with respect to the base between a closed position and an open position. The closed position is characterized by the aperture not being accessible and the open position is characterized by the aperture being accessible.

  • Patent number: 8646633
Abstract: This invention includes a closure for covering a container. The closure has a base with an upper surface and a neck, with the neck capable of being fastened to the opening of a bottle. The upper surface sits above the opening of the bottle. It has a spout having an exposed front surface, a front inside surface, and a cap rim. The cap is pivotally attached to the base to permit movement of the cap relative to the base between an open position and a closed position. The exposed front surface and front inside surface together have a bottom end and a top end. The inside front surface contains a spout cap, such that when the cap is closed the spout cap mates with the spout to form a liquid tight seal, and such that when the cap is opened the liquid tight seal between the spout and the spout cap is opened.

Abstract: A drink bottle with a removable lid includes an inner lid attached to the mouth of the bottle and an outer lid pivotably mounted to said inner lid. A drink spout extends from the inner lid. The outer lid may be latched into a closed position covering the drink spout. A push button can be selectively actuated to release the latched outer lid, permitting the outer lid to open to access the drink spout. The push button moves a lid slide containing a catch extension that engages a catch notch in the outer lid to latch the outer lid closed. Actuating the push button moves the catch extension out of engagement with the catch notch, thereby opening the outer lid. A push button lock selectively prevents the push button from being depressed and the lid slide from being actuated, thereby locking the outer lid in a latched and closed position.

Abstract: A child-resistant lift-off cap for a container is adapted to be difficult to unseat independently to open the container. An overlay portion associated with the cap is adapted for use to lift the cap from a container to unseat it. The overlay portion has a thumb tab and is deformable to engage and lift the seated cap only when the thumb tab is lifted. The overlay portion raises independently of the cap when the deformable portion is not deformed into engagement with the cap. Alternatively, a lift-top cap having a slot through it, the slot having a first opening near an edge of the cap to be lifted to unseat the cap and a second opening. A slide in the slot has a first end biased to be flush with or recessed into the first opening and a second end biased to normally protrude out of the second opening. The second end of the slide can be depressed against the bias of the slide to displace the first end of the slide out of the first opening to function as a thumb tab to assist in lifting the cap from a container.
