  • Patent number: 11858701
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a can lid that is child resistant, and at the same time senior friendly, and can be initially installed on a can to be removed by an adult, especially a senior adult, and be put back on the can in the same condition where a child could still not be able to easily remove it. The child resistant and senior friendly can lid provided has a replaceable can lid and a locking member, such that when a can is initially opened, it may be readily resealed. The child resistant and senior friendly can lid has tapered, smooth sides to make the lid difficult to grasp and a sealing ledge on the inside surface to grab the seam roll of the upper edge of the can. The lid sealing ledge is relieved in two areas ninety degrees apart leaving a ridge to maintain a seal when the lid is attached to a can. The can lid will be flexible enough to bend for removal by seniors but resistant to removal by children.

  • Patent number: 11612821
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for a gaming system that maintains an internal score and an external score for each user. The system maintains the internal scores to reflect demonstrated user skill. The system uses the accurate internal scores to facilitate communication between client computing devices associated with users that have been selected to participate in gameplay instances based on the internal scores. The external scores maintained by the system displayed to the users. Because the external scores are not used for matchmaking, the external scores may be adjusted in any way without requiring internal consistency. For example, to combat gameplay stagnation, the gameplay system periodically resets maintained external scores. For a time, comparisons between the reset external scores do not accurately reflect the users' rankings within the game. However, as the users participate in gameplay, the external scores return to levels that are similar to the users' internal scores.

Abstract: Conventional adhesive and contact welding methods for holding the paperboard and plastic components of a composite closure together present a number disadvantages and do not lend themselves easily to mass production. The present invention describes two novel approaches, firstly the pre-assembly heating of the closure components with directed hot air to partially melt the thermoplastic surfaces and allow the parts to be immediately assembled sealingly and, secondly, a novel construction of plastic and paperboard composite closure in which the plastic rim is of a two-piece snap-fit constructions which firmly grips the top panel of the paperboard lid.

  • Patent number: 7703642
Abstract: A sipper type capping assembly engageable with a necked container so as not to pool condensation on the disc seal. It has a unitary molding (1) adapted to define a detachable overcap (4) and at least the container engaging skirt (9). An insert (2) and a disc seal member (17) located within molding (1), and a nozzle component (3) above the seal member is carried through the insert yet moveable relative thereto. In a non-dispensing condition, the nozzle component (3) and the insert (2) provide closure. In the dispensing condition of the nozzle component (3) relative to the insert (2) there is defined a liquid egress passageway. The insert and the nozzle component, when in or notionally considered in the non-dispensing condition, define together with the molding a fully enclosed space about part of the nozzle component. When in or notionally considered in at least the dispensing condition, the molding and the disc seal member fully enclose the nozzle component.
