  • Patent number: 8878107
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-level and vertical assembling type PTFE heater and the methods of manufacture thereof. Said heater includes a vertical frame assembled by multi-poles and upper and lower retaining plates. Several levels of PTFE sleeves and electrical heating belts are alternatively disposed on the multi-poles. The number of the poles is determined in accordance with the size and capacity of a heater desired and the power and levels of PTFE electrical heating belts with heating needs. Multiple levels of PTFE electrical heating belts are formed in an assembling way, by which heaters with varied powers are easily produced and with the elements replaceable, will not be wholly wasted in event of an element damaged, thus the heater service life prolonged. Said heater has a better heating result than the one with only a single level of heating structure.

Two air outlets are formed respectively through two sides of the outer casing. Each core assembly is mounted in the outer casing and has at least one fan and two heating assemblies. Each fan draws air axially from the air inlet and blows air radially towards the air outlets. The heating assemblies are mounted respectively in the sides of the outer casing and correspond respectively to the air outlets. With such positioning of the air inlet and the air outlets of the outer casing, and with the fan drawing air axially and blowing air radially, the warm air blows out from both sides of the outer casing. The arrangement of the heat sink, first heat source and second heat source can provide substantial temperature uniformity among the plurality of sample holders. The invention also includes a method for thermally cycling samples of biological material.

Abstract: Fault tolerance is incorporated within the integral electric heaters of a reworkable electronic semiconductor component, such as a reworkable multi-chip module, to increase production yield and longevity of the rework feature. Components of the foregoing kind contain a multilayer substrate to bond to a printed wiring board, and, for rework, the component includes a plurality of electric heaters arranged side by side on a bottom layer of the substrate. When energized with current, the heaters generate sufficient heat to weaken the adhesive or solder bond to the printed wiring board without delaminating the layers of the substrate, allowing the electronic semiconductor component to be pulled away from the printed wiring board for rework. Additional circuitry is included to automatically route heater current around, that is bypass, any current-interrupting break(s) as may form in any of the electric heaters giving the heaters a fault tolerance.

  • Patent number: 6414281
Abstract: A multicell heater is shown with typically round outer tubing, containing a plurality of resistive heating elements having a common inner sheath. The inner sheath has a preferably non-circular cross-section and is given a hairpin bend to form a “U” shape. The resulting configuration, which is much less expensive than conventional multicell heaters, provides efficient heating at the toe end—a usually unheated (“cold”) zone in conventional multicell heaters.

Abstract: A heating element assembly and a method of manufacturing heating assemblies. The heating assembly may be used for heating food products, including polypropylene bags containing cheese sauce or hot fudge, for example. The preferred heating assembly is configured to fit precisely around a standard cheese sauce bag, thus optimizing heat transfer between the heating assembly and the food product. The varied surface watt density of the heating assembly allows for accurate heat placement such that the food product can be efficiently and evenly warmed. A preferred embodiment of the heating element assembly includes two resistance heating elements. The first heating element is a temperature booster, while the second heating element is a maintenance heater to maintain heated food at a serving temperature.

  • Patent number: 6316746
Abstract: A defrosting assembly for a mirror of a vehicle for keeping sideview mirrors free of ice. The defrosting assembly for a mirror of a vehicle includes a transparent planar sheet and an electrical wire. The electrical wire has a medial portion that is coupled to the transparent planar sheet. An adhesive is coupled to a face of the planar sheet. The adhesive may be coupled to the mirror of the vehicle thereby coupling the planer sheet and medial portion of the electrical wire to the mirror. The electrical wire is designed to couple to a battery of the vehicle thereby creating an electrical current through the electrical wire. The electrical current passing through the electrical wire heats the electrical wire. The heating of the electrical wire defrosts the mirror.
