Abstract: A PTC heating element has a casing that joins as a unit at least one PTC element, conductor paths electrically connected to the PTC element, and insulating layers bearing, in a heat-conductive manner against the PTC element. The PTC heating element also has contact strips which project over itself and which are electrically conductively connected to the conductor paths for energizing the PTC element with different polarities. The casing forms a receptacle space that receives the PTC element, the conductor paths, and the insulating layers. In order to improve heat decoupling from the PTC element, the receptacle, in a cross-sectional view, is defined by two oppositely disposed inner surfaces covering the PTC element and concave cavities, adjoining the inner surfaces and forming the longitudinal edges of the casing, the diameter of which is greater than the distance between the inner surfaces. The electric heating device has at least one PTC heating element arranged in a circulation chamber.

Abstract: A PTC heating device for introduction into a receiving pocket of an electric heating device includes at least one PTC element, a conductor track that is electrically connected to the PTC element, and insulating layers that are abutted in a thermally conductive manner against the PTC element. Abstract: A tortilla cooking device includes induction stages arranged in a substantially vertical configuration, with some of the induction stages including one or more induction elements. Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a temperature of a heater arranged in a plasma processing apparatus that converts a gas into plasma using a high frequency power and performs a plasma process on a workpiece with the plasma. The plasma processing apparatus includes a processing chamber that can be depressurized, a mounting table that is arranged within the processing chamber, an electrostatic chuck that is arranged on the mounting table and electrostatically attracts the workpiece, and a heater that is arranged within or near the electrostatic chuck and is divided into a plurality of heater zones. Abstract: A PTC heating element includes at least one PTC element provided between strip conductors. To reduce the air gap and creep distance between the two strip conductors an insulating mass seals at least one of the strip conductors and/or the PTC element over the whole circumference. In the electric heating device according to the invention, such a PTC heating element lies in an electrically conducting manner against heat-emitting surfaces of the heating device. According to the method of the invention for producing an electric heating device, the strip conductors are glued to the PTC element for producing a PTC heating cell. The PTC heating cell is then sealed between two electrical insulation layers by an insulating mass which is applied circumferentially around at least one of the strip conductors and/or the PTC element.

Abstract: A vehicle has an electric heating device which in operation reaches a temperature of more than 50° C., and includes a flat perforated decorative layer which is disposed on a front face of the heating device. Abstract: A method for making a heater is provided. A support and a flexible substrate are provided. The flexible substrate is fixed on a surface of the support. A carbon nanotube film is drawn from a carbon nanotube array. One end of the carbon nanotube film is attached on the flexible substrate. PTC elements and an electrode terminal to which an insulator is attached may be retained in a channel-shaped rod cover having an open side so as to be exposed to the outside, and a heat-radiating fin is in direct contact with one surface of the rod cover so as to conduct heat, and another heat-radiating fin may be in direct contact with one surface of the insulator attached to an outer surface of the electrode terminal so as to conduct heat, so that the PTC rod assembly minimizes empty space in an inner space of the rod cover, increases heat transfer efficiency, and is easily manufactured due to a simple structure and reduction in the number of parts.

Abstract: A track rail heating assembly that is adapted to position a heater element in spaced relation proximate to a surface of a track rail of a railroad. The assembly includes at least one heating element, and a housing that is operable to at least partially surround the heating element while positioning the heating element near to track rail. The hood positions the heating element relative to the rail section such that a gap exists between the heating element and the rail section. As the heating element does not contact the rail, the heating element cannot form an electrical by-pass for signals passing through the rail section. The assembly further incorporates a flexible barrier that at least partially isolates a side surface of the track rail from ambient conditions to reduce heat loss.

Abstract: A lithium polymer (LiPo) battery pack having LiPo battery cells is provided which includes battery protection circuitry, charging circuitry, cell balancing circuitry, and control and communication circuitry. The batteries can be charged while in use by an internal charger. Battery charging and discharging are accomplished in a controlled and protected manner to avoid overcharging and overdischarging conditions. The novel battery pack has built-in safeguards against dangerous LiPo battery conditions and is implemented in a small, portable unit which contains the battery cells, control and protection circuitry, internal charger and display gauge. The battery pack is useful for powering an intravenous fluid warmer or other medical or electrical devices and equipment.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling the temperature of multi-zone heater in a process chamber are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method is provided to control a multi-zone heater disposed in a substrate support, wherein the multi-zone heater has a first zone and a second zone. In some embodiments, the method may include measuring a current drawn by the first zone at a first time; measuring a voltage drawn by the first zone at the first time; calculating the resistance of the first zone based upon the measured current and voltage drawn by the first zone at the first time; determining a temperature of the first zone based upon a predetermined relationship between the resistance and the temperature of the first zone; and adjusting the temperature of the first zone in response to the temperature determination.

Abstract: An electric heater assembly for mounting in an electric clothes dryer supports an electrical heating element. The heater assembly has overlapping arcuate shaped support plates of mica for supporting a zig-zag shaped electrical heating element. Each mold chamber is further structured to retain an uncooked liquid, semi-liquid, semi-solid, or solid food composition therein during the cooking procedure. A heat source is disposed either externally or internally of the mold housing and generates sufficient heat to cook a food composition disposed within the mold chamber. A frame assembly may be utilized to operatively support one or more mold housing in the substantially upright orientation, such that a heat source may be incorporated into the frame assembly to provide adequate cooking temperatures to the corresponding mold chamber(s) of one or more supported mold housings.
Abstract: An assembly that is adapted to position a track heater in spaced relation proximate to a surface of a track rail of a railroad. The assembly includes at least one heating element, and a hood or housing that is operable to at least partially surround the heating element while positioning the heating element near to track rail. The hood positions the heating element relative to the rail section such that a gap exists between the heating element and the rail section. As the heating element does not contact the rail, the heating element cannot form an electrical by-pass for signals passing through the rail section.
Abstract: A heater assembly includes a heating element assembly having a resistive heating element connected to a housing member. First and second guide members are oppositely and outwardly positioned with respect to the heating element assembly and extend away from the housing member. A patch plate includes an installation aperture and first and second wings extending away from the patch plate. The first and second guide members are positioned to individually slidingly engage with one of the first and second wings thereby defining a track system to permit the heating element assembly to be slidingly received through the installation aperture without contact between the resistive heating element and the patch plate.

A cavity within the end of the tube receives an insulating member having a passage through which the conductor pin extends. A layer of epoxy is located between the insulating member and the powder. The tubes are arranged into three electrical phase groups. Interior conductor pins of the groups are electrically connected to each other in a Y-configuration. A phase divider of electrical insulating material has three sections dividing the electrical phase groups of the conductor pins.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling the temperature of multi-zone heater in a process chamber are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method is provided to control a multi-zone heater disposed in a substrate support, wherein the multi-zone heater has a first zone and a second zone. In some embodiments, the method may include measuring a current drawn by the first zone at a first time; measuring a voltage drawn by the first zone at the first time; calculating the resistance of the first zone based upon the measured current and voltage drawn by the first zone at the first time; determining a temperature of the first zone based upon a predetermined relationship between the resistance and the temperature of the first zone; and adjusting the temperature of the first zone in response to the temperature determination.

Abstract: A honey cone heater includes a lamp housing having an outer edge that forms a partial circle. The lamp housing has an opening extending from a top surface to a bottom surface of the lamp housing. The opening further extends from the outer edge into a center region of the lamp housing. A plurality of lamps is distributed throughout the lamp housing, and is configured to emit light out of the top surface of the lamp housing.
Abstract: An improved solid heat transfer element composed of an elongate member having a generally cylindrical surface with male vortex generating protrusions is provided. The vortex generating protrusions, which may be referred to as “turbulators,” provide improved heat transfer by convection to a flow of air transverse to the elongate members without substantially increasing the pressure drop in the flow of air passing over the members. Advantageously, a plurality of the heat transfer elements, or of straight portions of a single serpentine heat transfer element, may be arranged in an aligned or staggered array of elements or straight portions. Many advantageous profile shapes of the element and vortex generators are provided, including aerodynamic profile shapes that are symmetrical with respect to a fluid flow to provide low drag and pressure drop. Heat in the element may be generated by means of electrical resistance or absorption of radiation.
Abstract: An apparatus, such as a heater, is provided that includes a base member having at least one fluid passageway. A two-phase fluid is disposed within the fluid passageway, a pressure of the two-phase fluid being controlled such that the two-phase fluid provides at least one of heating and cooling to the base member. A tuning layer is secured to the base member, and the tuning layer includes a plurality of zones. Furthermore, a component, such as a chuck by way of example, is secured to the tuning layer.
