Abstract: A first container is provided including a first base, a first wall, a second wall, a third wall, and a fourth wall. The first, second, third, and fourth walls, can each be placed in an erect state, substantially perpendicular to the first base or in a collapsed state substantially parallel to the first base. The first and second walls, which oppose each other, can also be placed in ramp states to allow a vehicle or cargo to be rolled over the first or second walls and onto the first base. Inverted J-shaped slots allow the first wall or the second wall to pivot about multiple pivot points with respect to the base.

Abstract: A collapsible container system comprises first and second opposed trays capable of nesting when unopposed, each tray has a tray lip disposed along the perimeter thereof and a plurality of lip slots therein. A wall element has a plurality of sides when unfolded that engage the tray lip of said first and second opposed trays to form a rigid container. A plurality of straps capable of being inserted through the plurality of lip slots in the tray lip whereby the straps are arranged to secure the first and second opposed trays and wall element to each other. Advantageously, the lip slots are vertically positioned at or below an inner supporting surface of a lower tray providing a liquid drainage system. Optionally, the container system may have an inner and outer wall element providing additional strength and rigidity and may also have a liquid container stored therein.

Abstract: A packaging device forming a container, comprising a formable rigid structural element (6) joined to a sheet of flexible material (3) provided at the periphery with means for retaining a clamping tie (4). The rigid structural element (6) has a first part (5) which comprises a multiplicity of radial branches (50), which are made of flexible material, and a second part (7) made of rigid material, which has at its periphery radial arms (71), which are designed to define the shape and the volume of the container and which each have an end part which diverges from the plane of a central planar part (70) by flaring. The first and second parts (5, 7) are provided with means (53) for securing to one another such that they are coaxial with one another and such that the branches (50) are in line with the arms (71); while at one of the faces the flexible sheet (3) is secured to the first part (5) by its face opposite the face intended to accommodate the second part (7).

Abstract: A mechanism for raising or lowering a sidewall of a container. The mechanism has a shaft that extends across a substantial width of the container adjacent an upper frame support. The shaft has two spools fixedly attached to opposing ends of the shaft. The mechanism has two cables each having one end secured to an associated one of the spools, an opposing end secured to the sidewall, and a length wrapped around the spool and extending between the spool and sidewall. The mechanism has a drive for rotating the shaft to unwrap a portion of the cable allowing for the sidewall to rotate away from the container in response to gravity, and to wrap a portion of the cable around the spool, causing the sidewall to rotate toward the container.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a self-assemblable container, preferably manufactured from ecologic materials such as standard fiberboard, comprising as its main structural elements a bottom, two longitudinal sides and two transverse sides of a basically rectangular shape having cauterized perimetrical faces to prevent moisture penetration into the structural elements that make up the container, thus providing long term structural stiffness to the perimetrical faces of the container's structural elements comparable to that of the fiberboard surface. Each of the main structural elements comprises in one side adjacent to another corresponding main structural element, tensile-resistant flexible tabs or receiving slots, the other corresponding main structural element in said side adjacent to the first main structural element respectively comprising slots or flexible tensile resistant tabs, said main structural elements being assembled together by the insertion of the flexible tabs into the receiving slots.

Abstract: Collapsible containers and associated methods are disclosed herein. Certain aspects of the invention are directed toward a collapsible container assembly that includes a foldable support member that has a length and a width. The support member has a concave cross-section that causes the support member to resist bending until a threshold force is exceeded. The support member has a folded position and an extended position where the support member is unfolded. The assembly further includes at least one surface member carried by the support member. The assembly has a deployed position where the support member is in the extended position and the at least one surface member forms an enclosure with an interior. The assembly also has a collapsed position where the support member is in the folded position. The container assembly has less exterior volume in the collapsed position than in the deployed position.
