Abstract: A plastic housing comprises a top wall, a plurality of sidewalls extending from the top wall, each sidewall having a first end adjoining the top wall and an opposite second end, the sidewalls cooperatively defining an opening at the second ends thereof; the top wall has a uniform thickness, and a thickness of each of the sidewalls gradually decreases from the first end to the second end. Because of the shrinkage rate of the second ends of the sidewalls is much greater than the first ends of the sidewalls, the thickness of each sidewall is decreasing from the first end to the second end, therefore, the shrinkage deformation of the sidewalls can be even with the gradient thickness. The warping of the sidewalls is alleviated or is avoided.

Abstract: A one-piece plastic hot-fill container may employ a shoulder portion, a base portion and a sidewall portion, which may be integrally formed with and extend from the shoulder portion to the base portion. The sidewall portion may generally be in an hourglass shape and employ a plurality of arched contour ribs and a plurality of arched contour lands that may alternate along a longitudinal length of the sidewall portion. An outside diameter of an upper body portion is greater than an outside diameter of a lower body portion, which may form a hand grip area. The arched contour ribs may further employ an upper flat wall, a lower flat wall, and an inner curved wall joining the upper and lower walls, which together may form an angle of about 60 degrees, and move in response to hot-fill product contraction within the container or top load forces.

  • Patent number: 8567604
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to containers for storage and transportation of items such as produce harvested with its roots intact. The containers include a base and lid hingedly connected together on at least one edge, and may be stacked to maximize density for storage so that a shipping receptacle can hold more produce while taking up the same place, allowing for more efficient transportation saving on transportation costs and storage. In addition to saving costs on transportation and storage, the containers maintain the freshness of the produce harvested with its roots intact by keeping away soil, soil debris and moisture from the remaining portions of the produce. When containers are stacked together, a substantially circular recessed center portion on a top surface of the lid of a first container is adapted to receive a substantially circular male protruding center portion one the base of a second, identical container.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to drinkware and in particular to drinkware formed from pliable materials, such as silicone. When used in the present invention, the flexibility of the silicone material differentiates the new drinkware from existing drinkware in a number of ways. First, the novel drinkware is pliable, foldable and bendable, so that it can safely travel without fear of breakage or injury. Furthermore, the form will always return to its original shape, and there will be no wear, tear or fatigue to the material, thereby enabling the drinkware to be stored in a smaller space than that required by drinkware formed from rigid materials.
