Abstract: A trash bag holder detachably mounted on a wall having capability to be used in sweeping debris. The device is assembled from a flexible rod handle, end caps, a bag holder base, rod handle clips, and trash bag holder brackets. When fully assembled the trash bag holder maintains a trash bag in an open position. Rod handle clips maintain the trash bag onto trash bag holder brackets. The trash bag holder brackets may be selectively clipped together and attached to the base to form a unitary assembly. A sloped area on the base allows the unit to be used as a scoop to facilitate the cleanup of debris while the base also allows the unit to be removably attached to a wall or door where it maintain a trash bag in a vertical open position without the need for a rigid container.

Abstract: A slurry handling and disposal system is provided for waste slurry and particulates. The system includes a waste bin provided with support structures for retaining a flexible removable filter element with a filter element supported above a floor of the waste bin. The particulate matter component of a volume of the waste slurry and particulates deposited in the filter element is retained in said filter element while the liquid component of the waste slurry and particulates are collected in a base portion of the waste bin.

Abstract: A vacuum-operated trash receptacle which is characterized by a container fitted with an air blower, vacuum pump or the like, either on the perforated lid, bottom or on the side thereof and having a like-shaped, removable, typically slotted liner inserted therein. In a preferred embodiment, the outer wall or walls and/or bottom of the liner are spaced from the corresponding inside wall or walls and bottom panel of the container, respectively, to define a separate or connected annulus between the bottom and wall or walls of the container and liner. The container is further provided with a top flange which receives a corresponding liner flange on the liner to seal the separate or connected bottom and wall annulus and facilitate development of a vacuum in the bottom annulus and wall annulus or both and in the liner by operation of the air blower.

Abstract: This invention relates to a container (1) for waste material comprising wall portions (4, 6, 7) defining an internal void space and at least one opening (21) through which waste material may be inserted and/or withdrawn from said void space, wherein a roller shutter (22) is provided which is movable from an extended position in which the opening is closed by the roller shutter to a retracted position in which the opening is substantially unobstructed, the roller shutter being wound onto a barrel arrangement (26) as it is retracted, wherein in the retracted position that portion of the roller shutter wound onto the barrel arrangement is located within the internal void space of the container defined by the wall portions.

Abstract: A sharps dispensing and disposal system includes a sharps dispensing container and a sharps disposal container within the sharps dispensing container. In one embodiment, the sharps disposal container is mounted at least partially within the sharps dispensing container, with a chamber surrounding at least a portion of the sharps disposal container. In another embodiment, a sharps dispensing and disposal system includes a sharps disposal container having an inner wall and an inlet for depositing used sharps into the sharps disposal container. The sharps dispensing container includes an outer wall that surrounds at least a portion of the sharps disposal container and forms a buffer zone. In another embodiment, a sharps dispensing and disposal system includes at least one elastic support member that elastically suspends a sharps disposal container in the interior of a sharps dispensing container. A cover detachably couples the sharps disposal container with the sharps dispensing container.

Abstract: A collapsible container having an integral scoop is disclosed. The collapsible container is arranged to form a partially enclosed rectilinear structure for maintaining a bag in an open state predominately within the rectilinear structure. The elongated panel includes a pair of longitudinal score lines which define first and second subpanels. A first lateral score line defines a top panel which is pivoted downward to form the integral scoop. A second lateral score line defines a base panel extending obliquely from a bottom edge of main panel. The base panel is dimensioned to span intermediate bottom edges of the first and second subpanels to form a closed base which limits abrasion to the bottom of the bag. The collapsible container is collapsible at least along the longitudinal and lateral score lines into a generally planar structure.

Abstract: A locking apparatus for releasably securing the lid of a trash container in a closed position has a locking arm with an elongate central portion for extending across the closed lid and bent end portions pivotally mounted on opposite sides of the container via pivot brackets which allow the arm to be pivoted between a first position extending across the closed lid of the trash container and a second position extending across the front wall of the container. The pivot bracket on one side is part of a locking device which has first and second locking formations on opposite sides of the pivot bracket, and the bent end portion of the arm on that side is releasably locked to the first locking formation by a locking member such as a padlock when the arm is in the first position and releasably locked to the second locking formation by the same member when the arm is in the second position.

Abstract: A gravity actuated locking device for a container having a hinged lid, comprises a base unit adapted to be fixed to the container and a pivoting unit pivotally mounted to the base unit. The pivoting unit includes a locking mechanism mounted therein for rotation about the base unit. In turn, the locking mechanism comprises a circular rolling member that translates from a blocking position preventing relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit to a release position permitting relative movement between the pivoting unit and the base unit.

Abstract: A container has door openings at opposite ends for dedicated loading from the discharge of a waste compactor at a door on a vertical hinge axis and unloading by tilt dumping through a swinging panel on a horizontal axis. A removable lid encompasses a substantial portion of the top. The container has standard intermodal fittings. The container can be loaded while on a compaction-reinforcement chassis with a structure that bears against the dumping side door to resist compactor forces. The container is reinforced notwithstanding the plural doors, including at a header and sill at the loading end, a rigid upper frame at traversing between the sides at the hinge for the dumping end, and by a container base including transverse fork-truck tine receptacles. The container is not limited to the specialized reception of compactor slugs and is also useful as a general purpose bulk container.

The cavity receives refuse to be disposed of. Each of a plurality of handles is rotatably mounted to the container to permit each of the handles to be rotated to desired position. The handles are graspable to facilitate lifting of the container. A lid is positionable over the top end of the container to selectively close the top end and retain the refuse in the cavity.

Abstract: A garbage can unit with weighted base comprises a garbage can, a housing, a wheel assembly, and a T-shaped handle attached to the housing. The can is made cylindrical and provided with a flange at its upper peripheral edge and a pair of handles integrally formed on diametrically opposite sides of the can. The housing is made in the form of a parallelepiped, with a bulged bottom portion, a cylindrical recess being made in the housing to receive the can. The bulged bottom portion of the housing is made hollow and provided with a closeable inlet having a plug and located at a front side of the bulged portion to allow filling an inner space of the bulged bottom portion with filler. The wheel assembly includes a pair of wheels on a common axle attached to a rear side of the bulged portion.

Abstract: An improved multi-modular waste container formed at least in part from molded structural-foam. Per conventional waste containers, the improved waste container includes a housing for receiving trash, which will preferably be disposed upon one or more casters. One or more lids are hingeingly engaged to the top perimeter of the housing to provided selective access to the trash receptacle. Detachably fastenable slots may be affixed to opposed sides of the housing to facilitate engagement with and emptying by front-loading garbage trucks. The improved waste containers are substantially lighter, easier to maintain, stronger, chemical and corrosion resistant and possess substantially greater sound deadening characteristics than prior art waste containers fabricated from metal. The container housings are further preferably configured to be stacked within one another to facilitate shipping and handling thereof.

Abstract: Apparatus 10 discloses a compartmentalized waste and recyclable container 12. The compartmentalized container 12 is comprised of a divided waste container having removable receptacles 24, 26. One receptacle is designed for holding normal waste 26 while the other is designed for holding recyclables 24, such as cans, jars, plastic bottles, etc. The waste container has a sectioned lid 16, 17 providing access to either or both containers. Abstract: A portable apparatus for picking up and storing waste and, particularly animal waste, includes a container having each of a predetermined shape and a predetermined size, a bottom wall, and a side wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall and forming an open top end. An elongated member with a pointed lower edge is provided for securing the apparatus to a ground surface in a semi-permanent fashion. There is a pair of hooks for securing the handles of a grocery type bag positioned within an interior portion of the container. An optional liner storage member is attached to the exterior surface of the container. The invention also provides a device for picking up the animal waste which includes a cup-shaped member mounted at one end of an elongated member and a handle which is mounted at a distal end of the elongated member.

Abstract: A garbage container incorporates an access located along one side of the container. The access port can be enclosed by a door. An access section bag holding structure can be incorporated across the top edge of the access. The side access garbage container allows the user to remove the garbage bag without lifting it from the container, but simply by sliding the filled bag out from the access section. The access can be incorporated into a stand alone container or one placed within a cabinet.

Abstract: The present invention is a lawn accessory comprising a structural shell. The shell is constructed to have a wall containing both inner and outer surfaces, and a bottom member which together form an inner volume. An adhesive layer surrounds the outer wall surface of the shell and is comprised of a mortar. A decorative layer comprised of a plurality of synthetic stones is attached to the adhesive layer and spaces between the stones are filled with mortar to complete the lawn accessory.

Abstract: An anchoring mechanism for anchoring an outdoor trash can or other item to the ground includes a base mountable on the trash can and an anchor which is movable between a raised position and a lowered anchoring position. A reinforcing plate may be used inside the trash can to help secure the anchoring mechanism thereon. A foot press member is provided on the anchor to facilitate the pressing of the anchor into the ground. The anchoring mechanism is configured to prevent the trash can when empty from blowing around in fairly high winds and helps prevent the tipping of filled trash cans.

Abstract: The present invention provides a foot-driven device for displacing a paper shredder bin, and is a separable paper shredder bin structured from an outer frame and an inner bin. A front edge of a bottom portion of the outer frame is provided with a foot pedal. The inner bin is caused to lean outward when a user steps on the foot pedal to facilitate throwing waste into the inner bin.

Abstract: A garbage-containing apparatus includes a base, a bin installed on the base, a cover installed on the bin, a pedal installed on the bin or the base, a linking device for linking the pedal to the cover and a buffering device provided between the linking device and the bin. The buffering device buffers the cover through the linking device in a lowering stroke of the cover.

Abstract: A trash bin of the shredder consists of an inner bin and an outer bin. When the user inserts the inner bin into the outer bin, a bolt assembly combines the inner bin and the outer bin. An energy storing element of a pushing mechanism stores energy to push the inner bin out. The user can trigger the bolt assembly by depressing or stepping to release the energy stored in the energy storing element. The inner bin automatically jumps out for the user to clean trash paper therein.

Abstract: A trash can assembly has a shell, a lid fitted over the top end of the shell, a foot pedal positioned adjacent the bottom end of the shell, a link assembly coupling the foot pedal and the lid, and a locking member associated with the shell. The locking member engages the rod of the link assembly to maintain the lid in an open position without pressing the foot pedal.

Two or more inner liners can be provided inside the shell. The latch includes a pivotably mounted latch member that has a center of gravity offset from its pivot point. Because the center of gravity of the latch member is offset from the pivot point, tilting the litter bin causes pivoting of the latch member, thereby moving the catch portion from the locked position to the unlocked position.

Abstract: The invention discloses differing embodiments of trash management systems and methods for the disposal and/or collection of trash. In one embodiment under the invention, a trash management system may include a mobile cart, a trash vessel connected to the cart, a piston adapted to compact trash within the trash vessel, and a passageway adapted to be connected to a vacuum trash disposal. The piston may be adapted to travel from one position to a second position, and back from the second position to the first position. This movement of the piston may be achieved utilizing multiple passageways which are each adapted to be connected to a vacuum source and a vent source.

Abstract: A trash can assembly has an outer shell having an enclosing wall, a top end, and a bottom end. The assembly includes a pedal bar pivotably coupled to the bottom end, a lid pivotably coupled to the top end, and a lifting rod that extends vertically inside the outer shell, with the lifting rod coupling the lid and the rear end of the pedal bar. An air damper is provided inside the outer shell and coupled to the rear of the pedal bar for applying an opposing force against the downward motion of the rear of the pedal bar.

Abstract: Outdoor and indoor debris receptacles that can be formed from molded plastic. The receptacles include an open upper end with a D-shaped configuration and a closed bottom end with a substantially circular bottom configuration. The receptacles can have a generally cylindrical shape and a flat side wall having a triangular tubular shape for allowing the receptacle to be laid on its side so that rakes and brooms can move debris fully into the D-shaped opening with ease. At least one handle located on the apex of the D-shaped opening allows the container to be easily lifted to a vertical standing position, and curved interior wall surfaces allow debris to easily slide toward the bottom of the container. Embodiments allow for different sizes of container, and extras such as lids, wheels and supports for tools, such as but not limited to rakes, hoes, and shovels to be carried and stored by the receptacles.

Abstract: A universal lid for industrial or commercial large size solid waste containers, has a ribbed single layer central portion and a peripheral edge having a hollow double wall boxed configuration. The boxed perimeter may have a predetermined height such as approximately one inch, and the lid is provided with hinge lugs having a vertical extent substantially more but not more than twice than said predetermined height. In addition, the lids have substantial symmetry so that the lids may be stacked and nested with alternate lids oriented in opposite front-to-back directions. With this type of lid, the advantages of both single layer and double layer lid constructions may be realized.

Abstract: A system and apparatus for crushing aluminum cans, plastic containers and other crushable waste that is manual and portable. On the underside of the lid to the apparatus is a detachable handle with a plate attached thereto that has a series of rough ridges. The handle can descend down the height of the apparatus through a pair of parallel channels located down the front and rear of the apparatus. At the bottom of the apparatus on the interior is a mating plate that has a second series of rough edges that fit like a zipper with the ridges of the top plate for crushing of waste. The handle is lockable through latches to the lid of the apparatus when not in use. A second lock holds the handle in place on the rear of the apparatus when not in use. The bottom of the apparatus has one or more pairs of wheels to allow for easy portability.

Abstract: A stable waste receptacle has in the preferred embodiment, at least two foot pedals mounted on opposite sides of the receptacle, at the receptacle's base. Recessed housings are formed in the base and sides to permit the foot pedals to be withdrawn from the housings to stabilize the receptacle during trash bag removal or to be pressed back into the respective housings for telescopically stacking multiple receptacles. Detents are provided to retain the foot pedals releasably in the extended and retracted positions.

Abstract: A trash can assembly has a shell, a lid fitted over the top end of the shell, a pedal positioned adjacent the bottom end of the shell, a link assembly coupling the pedal and the lid, and a motion damper coupled to the link assembly for slowing the closing motion of the lid. Abstract: A dolly which is removably attachable to a bucket which is used for construction work such as retaining tile grout or is used for gardening. The attachment device has one section which can be press fit onto the bottom of the bucket so that the bucket can be rolled and a second section which can be press fit onto the top of the bucket so that the bucket is sealed to prevent its contents from drying out. The device also has an optional seating platform to support accessory items to be used with the bucket.

Abstract: A trash receptacle cleaning product has a trash receiving receptacle with side walls and a bottom wall. Side walls of the container extend past the bottom wall, forming a base for the container and a partially enclosed space below the bottom wall of the container. The front wall of the container has a cut-out or indented section configured to accept and store the handle of a cleaning implement, such as a lobby dustpan and broom unit. The space beneath the bottom wall permits the insertion of the lower part of the cleaning implement within the space. The result is a compact, self-contained trash cleaning product which can easily and conveniently be transported for use to any given location for cleaning and sweeping.

A compacting mechanism is fitted to the lid and comprises a compacting plate (22) mounted under the lid and an actuating rod (24) coupled to the compacting plate through an aperture (26) in the lid. The coupling is such that the rod (24) may be maneuvered from a storage position wherein the rod lies across the top surface of the lid and the plate is drawn up under the lid to an operative position wherein the rod stands upright over the aperture in the lid and may be pushed downwardly through the aperture to push the plate down into the container. The compacting mechanism further comprises a ratchet mechanism (50, 52, 54) for releasably locking the actuating rod (24) against movement upwardly through the aperture in the lid such that refuse in the container can be compacted by force applied to an edge (48) of the lid opposite the hinge.

Abstract: A waste container includes a handle rotatably mounted on the side wall. The handle includes a first grip at an outer end of a short arm and a second grip at the outer end of a long arm. The handle is rotatable relative to the waste container, between a first position where the first grip extends a first distance above an upper edge of the side wall of the waste container and a second position where the second grip extends a second distance above the upper edge of the side wall, with the second distance being substantially greater than the first distance. In this manner, the handle can be moved to the proper location for either pulling the waste container on its wheels or for emptying the waste container into the hopper of a truck.
