Abstract: A dispenser includes an actuating section having a first moveable member and a hydraulic section coupled with the actuating section and having a second moveable member. The hydraulic section is adapted to dispense a liquid from an outlet therein and the actuating section is adapted to control dispensing of the liquid. An actuator assembly operatively couples the first moveable member with the second moveable such that the first moveable member is operative to move the second moveable member between open and closed positions for respectively starting and stopping flow of liquid from the outlet. The actuator assembly may include a pivoting lever arm having a first end operatively coupled with the first moveable member, a second end operatively coupled with the second moveable member and defining a fixed pivot point therebetween.

Abstract: A device for dispensing flowable materials to low locations without the user being required to bend over or kneel down during dispensing provides relief from back strain or other injuries. The device includes a cylinder having a piston mounted therein which reciprocates between forward ejecting and return directions. A driven rod, connected to the piston, extends through a front wall of the cylinder. Upon actuation, a trigger mechanism supplies a pressure medium within the cylinder for displacing the piston in the forward ejecting direction to dispense flowable material from the dispensing device. The trigger mechanism is oriented to enable the user to hold the dispensing device like a suitcase and is spaced a sufficient distance from where the flowable material is dispensed to enable a user to remain standing erect while dispensing to low areas such as where a floor and wall meet.

  • Patent number: 7621702
Abstract: A timing element for a lubricant supply system is capable of using pneumatics for the time of delivery of lubricant for a preset duration. In one example, the timing element has a cavity having an entrance and an exit, a first piston and a second piston. The first piston and the second piston are disposed in the cavity. The first piston is coupled to the second piston in such that compressed air in the entrance of the cavity is capable of moving the second piston and closing the exit. A pneumatic timing element may be incorporated into a dosing unit that is capable of supplying an amount of lubricant in a mist to a plunger bushing of a machine tool without. The duration of the dosing may be controlled solely by pneumatics and may prevent excess pooling of lubricant in bore holes by shutting off lubricant delivery at a preset time.

This actuator includes a dispensing cylinder and a movable dispensing piston. The dispensing piston is movable tinder pneumatic pressure within the cylinder, the cylinder including a volume of hydraulic fluid under the pneumatic pressure acting against the dispensing piston to selectively prevent movement of the dispensing piston. The invention further includes a means for selectively reducing the volume of the hydraulic fluid in the dispensing cylinder to allow the controlled movement of the dispensing piston. The controlled movement of the dispensing piston causes controlled displacement of the fluid product from the dispensing container. Abstract: Shutting off a liquid supply line (2, 3) intended to convey foam precursors into a polyurethane foam mixing and dispensing gun, gives a better result when a system for shutting off and relieving the pressure is inserted in said supply line. This system enables to annul the pressure at the closed mouth of the gun by relieving the pressure in the supply line (2, 3).

Abstract: Systems and methods for hydraulically and volumetrically dispensing target fluid. A hydraulic system includes an actuator, a hydraulic coupler that includes substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid, and a container. The container may include a slidable or movable plunger or wall that when moved forces the target fluid out of the container. The actuator includes a motor or driver, such as a step motor, linear actuator, servomotor, pneumatic motor, or other similar device, to drive a plunger or piston of the hydraulic coupler. The coupler includes a conduit, column, shaft or other leak proof assembly that acts as a conduit for the substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid and includes a plunger or piston that is selectively pushed by the incompressible hydraulic liquid, thereby driving a head of the plunger or piston to press against the wall or plunger of the container or syringe that contains the target fluid or against the target fluid, causing the target fluid to be dispensed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6564968
Abstract: An automatic fluid dispenser includes a pump mechanism actuated by the movement of a piston between a first position and a second position. The piston includes a resilient diaphragm that separates a pump chamber from a pressurized fluid chamber. An inlet check valve in the pump chamber, biased into a closed position, allows fluid flow only into the pump chamber from a fluid source, and an outlet check valve allows fluid flow only out of the pump chamber. A valve in a conduit, coupling the pressurized fluid chamber to a pressurized fluid source, is movable between an open position in which the pressurized fluid moves the piston to the second position, dispensing fluid from the fluid chamber, and a closed position in which the pressurized fluid is bled from the pressurized fluid chamber and the piston returns to the first position, thereby drawing additional fluid into the fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 6484907
Abstract: A portable fluid dispensing apparatus comprising an fluid reservoir, an air compressor, and a dispensing gun. The fluid reservoir is fitted with a pressure switch which regulates the pressure within said fluid reservoir. Once fluid is charged into the fluid reservoir, the air compressor is activated to pressurize said fluid reservoir and the apparatus is ready for use. The fluid dispenser is then transported to the servicing site. An operator pulls the trigger on the dispenser gun for delivery of fluid on demand. When the pressure in the fluid reservoir drops, the air compressor is automatically triggered to raise the pressure to the predetermined set point. The fluid reservoir may be replenished with fluid as needed by simply depressurizing the fluid reservoir, refilling and repressurizing same. The fluid dispenser may additionally be fitted with a manually operated pump. The fluid reservoir may also be thermally insulated with heat tape to maintain the desired viscosity of the fluid contained therein.

  • Patent number: 6481645
Abstract: The nozzle of the present invention has an internal chamber, condiment input and discharge ports in fluid communication with the internal chamber, and an extension downstream of the condiment discharge port. Preferably, the internal chamber has a flow disrupter taking the form of a funnel-shaped end portion adjacent to the condiment discharge port. The internal chamber is preferably elongated and has a larger cross section than the spout to which the nozzle is connected to reduce condiment pressure and flow speed entering the nozzle. Condiment pressure can also be reduced in the internal chamber by other types of flow disrupters: protrusions extending from the internal chamber walls into the condiment flow and/or by an insert received within the internal chamber. At the funnel-shaped end portion, condiment flow adjacent to the internal chamber side walls is preferably diverted toward the discharge port to generate crossflow and turbulence, further reducing condiment pressure and force.
