Abstract: A valve in conjunction with an actuator has a valve position indicator coupled to the actuator. The valve position indicator has an indicator cover mounted over an indicator mounting surface, an array of LED lights arranged on the indicator mounting surface, and a mirror mounted internal and concentric to the indicator cover. A sensor in communication with the actuator and the plurality of LED lights communicates the position of the valve to the plurality of LED lights. The plurality of LED lights may illuminate to indicate an incremental degree that the valve is open, if any, and/or indicate by color the direction that the opening (or respective closing) of the valve is changing. In another embodiment with or without the mirror equiangular spaced single points of light each have one high intensity LED oriented to emit light horizontally and one high intensity LED oriented to emit light vertically.

Abstract: A dosage-dispensing device, which can be used for dosage materials in the form of powders or pastes, includes a housing with at least one receptacle compartment formed inside the housing for the purpose of holding the dosage material. The dosage-dispensing device further includes at least one dispensing head that comprises an elastic material and has an outlet for the dosage material. In the non-stressed condition, i.e. when there is no mechanical force or pressure acting on it, the outlet is tightly closed against the outside. When a force or pressure is applied, the outlet opens up, with the aperture width being variable, dependent on the applied force. Furthermore, inside the receptacle compartment and/or the dispensing head, there is at least one mechanical actuator element arranged through which the outlet can be opened.

Abstract: The eyes of a contact lens wearer are protected from the effects of a liquid disinfecting solution by providing a contact lens container having a catalyst therein and a container of the disinfecting solution of unusual design. The openings of the contact lens container and the solution container are configured so only the contact lens container is able to receive solution from the solution container. This prevents the user from directly removing disinfecting solution from the solution container and thereby prevents the user from directly applying the disinfecting solution to the eye.

Abstract: A low-profile particulate handling assembly is provided for use in conjunction with a downstream treating device, such as a seed treater unit. The assembly includes a plurality of juxtaposed particulate bins and a surmounting turret assembly designed to successively deliver particulates to the bins. The particulates within the bins are delivered to the downstream treating device through respective lower outlets each equipped with an adjustable slide gate assembly and a lower, multiple-chute assembly. Preferably, each bin has a top wall which in plan configuration approximates a sector of a circle, planar sidewalls, and downwardly tapered, arcuate sidewall structure leading to the lower outlet; in this fashion, the bins can be grouped with the sidewalls in close adjacency, and with the outlets located to feed into a single inlet of the downstream treating device.

Abstract: A device used to easily fill small containers, i.e. shot glasses, with hot or cold liquids, with precision and speed, without spillage. The device consists of a funnel, attached to a filler hose, with a specialized filler nozzle at the end. Liquid of choice is poured into the funnel. The liquid then flows through the hose, but will not come out until the user activates the nozzle. The nozzle is activated by gently pressing its tip on the floor of the container. The liquid dispenser device may be used to fill shot glasses with hot, liquid gelatin mixtures or can be used to fill other cups, such as communion cups.

  • Patent number: 8191569
Abstract: A valve assembly uses an O ring contained within a void such that the outer edges of the valve assembly reach the outer mid section of the O ring. A kettle for brewing beer or heating other fluid is drilled so as to accommodate the disclosed valve. The O ring is pressed and held against the outside surface of the kettle wall. A retaining nut placed within the kettle further secures the valve to the kettle. As the surface of the kettle heats during use, the contained O ring retains sufficient contact with the valve and kettle so as to prevent leakage.

  • Patent number: 8152017
Abstract: A closure with an additive reservoir is mounted on a container for a consumable liquid. The closure has a base, which includes the additive reservoir; a spout mounted on the base; a plunger positioned in the additive reservoir, and an outer cap. Upon advancing the plunger, an additive in the reservoir is released into the consumable liquid after the additive or plunger ruptures or otherwise opens a barrier provided by a foil, membrane or plug. Upon moving the spout from a first position on the base to a second position, a passageway through the base is opened and the consumable liquid flows to the consumer without having to remove the closure. The additive chamber is mounted in a support column of the base with the passageway for the consumable liquid being disposed between the additive chamber and the support column. In a preferred embodiment the additive is the sole pressure link between the plunger and barrier.
