  • Patent number: 8875958
Abstract: A plastic spout (150,170) which is adapted to be sealed between two foil walls of a pouch. The spout has a spout body, which forms a passage (153) for delivering a medium from the pouch and/or feeding a medium to the pouch. In a bottom part thereof, the spout, on opposite sides, forms a sealing zone for a sealed connection to an adjoining foil wall. The sealing zones of the spout body are formed by sealing walls (158,159) which project downward from the spout body, each having a curvature over their entire length, such that each sealing wall is outwardly convex over its entire length with respect to an imaginary plane passing through the outermost ends, which adjoin one another, of the sealing walls. The sealing walls can preferably move flexibly transversely with respect to their plane and, on their inner side, are unsupported or are supported by one or more flexible supporting parts of the spout body.

Abstract: A closure that is constructed and arranged to be sealed to an opening in a flexible film pouch that has an interior. The closure includes a body that has a top, bottom, sides, front and back, wherein the body has a body through-channel with a bottom opening and a top opening, and wherein the body is elongated, such that its extent from front to back is greater than its extent from side to side. The closure has an upper member coupled to the top of the body, wherein the upper member has an upper member through-channel with a bottom opening and a top opening, where the upper member through-channel is contiguous with the body through-channel. The top of the body is bisected by a body longitudinal axis and has a latitudinal axis that bisects and is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, where a center of the body is defined by the intersection of the longitudinal and latitudinal axes. The upper member top opening (i.e., the outlet opening of the closure) is asymmetric about the center of the body.

Abstract: A device that efficiently transfers a beverage from a dispenser to a container with minimal loss of the beverage, and in the case of a gaseous beverage, with minimal formation of a foam “head” at the top of the beverage. A tubular element is designed to be retrofit to an existing beverage dispensing outlet, such as a spigot. The tubular element has a length selected to introduce the beverage directly out the bottom of the element and into the bottom of the container being filled with the beverage. The container fills with the beverage, such that the fill line of the beverage moves from the bottom of the glass, horizontal with the opening at the bottom of the element, then upward around the tubular element toward the rim of the container, thus minimizing the amount of beverage that may splash against the sides and outside of the container, and minimizing the amount of head forming at the top of a carbonated beverage.

Abstract: A sleeved leveling device with an anti-skid design is provided with a sleeve portion and a trimming portion formed at one end of the sleeve portion. Anti-skid ribs formed on the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve portion will produce friction with respect to the nozzle of the sealant gun to ensure that the sleeved leveling device can be firmly sleeved on the sealant gun without falling off. An injection hole of the leveling device has an obtuse angle which enables the sealant to flow out successfully even when the user doesn't hold the leveling device in a perpendicular position to the surface where a seam to be filled is located. Moreover, the inner trimming surface of the trimming portion is arc-shaped, so that remnant sealant will be collected in the center of the inner trimming surface without overflowing, and the cleanliness of seam-filling operation is assured.

A first generally hollow extension section is selectably coupled to the open end of the main bin. The first extension section is in communication with the reservoir, and the storage capacity of the reservoir is increased by the first extension section. In some embodiments a seal element is intermediate the open end of the main bin and the first extension section, the seal element providing a substantially air-tight seal between the main bin and the first extension section. A plurality of extension sections and seal elements may be selectably coupled together in a stacked arrangement upon the main bin to increase the storage capacity of the reservoir.
