With Separable Attaching Means Patents (Class 222/567)
  • Patent number: 4225062
Abstract: A feminine syringe unit wherein a housing with a valve member and nozzle serve as both a filling and dispensing port for an expandable syringe bag. The syringe unit includes a removable nozzle retainer which has slidably secured thereto a nozzle member. When the nozzle member is removed, the bag is easily filled through a filling orifice and a dispensing flap valve. For cleaning and drying purposes, the valve is also removable from the bag by means of its being engaged by a valve retainer which in turn is threadably engaged on a bag retainer. The unit is activated by moving the nozzle toward the bag whereby the inlet portion of the nozzle will abut against a flap valve so as to create fluid communication between the inside of the bag and the nozzle. A hold-open means is also provided for the nozzle inlet portion in the valve member so that when a force is exerted on the bag to eject liquid through the nozzle it will not force the valve closed.

  • Patent number: 4084730
Abstract: Disclosed is a pipette device which accommodates a detachable filling device and a detachable piston. The stroke length of the piston is determined by the selective engagement of an abutment, movable with the piston, with stepped surfaces cut into a sleeve movable within an enclosing housing. A control member accessible at the housing exterior is angularly shifted to move the sleeve and thus select the step with which the abutment will engage, thereby determining the length of the working stroke of the piston.

  • Patent number: 4072250
Abstract: An apparatus for plugging holes in an electric smelting furnace or the like is disclosed. The apparatus comprises first and second tubular members, the second being adapted to be secured to the first by means of two assemblies mounted exterior of the tubes each of which may serve as either a release or a pivotal element about which the second tubular member may be rotated to facilitate loading and/or cleaning of either tubular member. A piston is provided which travels substantially the longitudinal extent of the first tubular member to extrude, under pressure, a material suitable for plugging a hole.

  • Patent number: 4018367
Abstract: The specification and drawings disclose a manifold-type dispensing head assembly. The head assembly disclosed comprises an elongated main body adapted to be mounted horizontally and defining a longitudinally-extending main manifold chamber. A plurality of spaced discharge passages extend vertically downwardly from the main manifold chamber. Flow through the discharge passages is controlled by a first longitudinally-extending slide valve mounted in the lower surface of the main body. A dispensing outlet subassembly is releasably connected to the main body beneath the discharge passages. The subassembly includes a recess which extends longitudinally and defines a small secondary manifold chamber which receives flow from the discharge passages. Outlet or dispensing orifices extend downwardly from the secondary chamber at locations corresponding to the desired pattern of discharge. A second valve is carried in the subassembly. The second valve controls the final discharge from the dispensing orifices.
