  • Patent number: 7458486
Abstract: The self-opener closure consists of a pour-out spout (2) which may be sealingly assembled onto a composite packaging or onto a container spout or bottle spout to be closed with film material, of an associated rotary cap (1) as well as a self-opener sleeve (3) arranged within the pour-out spout (2) which may be set into rotation by the rotary cap (1). Force transmission means and guide means are formed on these three elements. These cooperate with one another such that on rotating the rotary cap (1) in the opening direction for the first time the self-opener sleeve (3) firstly in the pour-out spout (2) may be pushed vertically downwards and subsequently may be rotated by approximately 360° in the horizontal. Because the self-opener sleeve (3) at its lower edge and projecting from this comprises a single, combined piercing and cutting member (9) the film or the composite packaging is first reliably pierced and afterwards a disk is cut cleanly out of it and pivoted downwards.

  • Patent number: 7458665
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluid supply assembly for a device, particularly a printing machine. The assembly includes a lower base and is of the type in which the fluid is conditioned in an upper container which is intended to be connected to a fill opening in the base by a coupling. In order to mount the coupling on the base, the coupling is moved linearly along a vertical assembly axis and then pivoted around the assembly axis. The coupling has at least one keying pin which is received in a complementary groove in one face of the base when the coupling is being moved linearly. The invention also relates to a printing machine containing one such assembly.

Abstract: A container for accommodating liquid and/or pasty substances is provided with a tubular outlet connector that is sealed via a film or a similar membrane relative to the substance accommodated in the container for storage. An inlet connector of a dispensing element can be inserted into the outlet connector. Furthermore, a piercing sleeve is displaceably accommodated in the outlet connector. The piercing sleeve can be displaced via setting on the inlet connector of the dispensing element so that the film or similar membrane is cut open. Furthermore, a combination of such a container and a dispensing element that can be connected with it, as well as a method for opening a container, are provided.

Abstract: Assemblies in accordance with the invention can lead to an exceptionally easy to use, safe, and convenient system and method of applying a fixed dosage of chemicals to which a user might wish to avoid contact, such as parasiticides. In the present invention, a fluid, such as a pesticide or parasiticide, glue, solvent, lubricant, medicament and the like is loaded into a fluid reservoir and the reservoir sealed. The reservoir can be attached to a cap-applicator structure which is in an inactive configuration. In the inactive configuration, a piercing tip remains poised over the reservoir in an inactive configuration without forming an opening in the reservoir. The cap-applicator can have a sharp intsernal piercing tip capable of piercing the reservoir when the assembly is converted into an active configuration. This will allow the user to dispense the liquid out of the reservoir through the applicator.

Abstract: An applicator tip is provided for operating in conjunction with a pierceable fluid reservoir. Assemblies in accordance with the invention can lead to an exceptionally easy to use, safe, and convenient system and method of applying a fixed dosage of chemicals to which a user might wish to avoid contact, such as parasiticides. The cap-applicator can have an internal piercing tip capable of piercing the reservoir when the assembly is converted into an active configuration. Projections can be provided, in the form of fins on a tube or a multi-prong structure with straight or curved projections. The tips of one or more projections can include dispensing ports or the ports can be recessed from the distal tip, such as in a notch, so as not to be obstructed if the distal tip of the cap is pressed against an animal to dispense the fluid.

Abstract: A dispenser closure (A) for a container including a storage chamber (2), a flexible diaphragm (3) and a membrane opening device (6) attached to the flexible diaphragm (3), whereby the membrane opening device (6) includes a support structure (7) in the form of an open structure with cutting teeth (11) in which a substance, additive, ingredient or powder to be dispensed may flow and out through the opened membrane. The open support structure results in mixing to occur immediately when the membrane is open, enables free movement of the substance, and facilitates complete mixing as there are fewer surfaces to trap the substance. Upon depression of the flexible diaphragm, the cutting teeth (11) of the opening device (6) moves to cut the membrane (5) thereby opening the storage chamber to allow the substance to mix with water, a solution or a sports drink contained in an attached container or bottle.
