Abstract: The instant invention is an innovative device designed to reduce the stress and strain on an individual's back that are associated with the shoveling process. The device is comprised of a shovel receptacle holder, a base plate, a base pad with a hard outer shell that contours to an individual's leg, and straps that hold the assembled device to the leg. The device is practiced by attaching the assembled device to an individual's leg; placing a shovel handle in the shovel receptacle holder; and then engaging in the normal shoveling process. However, instead of using the back to lift the shovel, the device allows the individual to use the fulcrum property to facilitate the shoveling process. This is accomplished by the individual pushing down primarily on the rear part of the shovel handle while lightly lifting the front of the handle thereby lifting the front end of the shovel.

Generally, the hydration systems include a storage area, a handle connected to the storage area, and a hydration apparatus contained in a region of the storage area. The hydration apparatus includes a hydration reservoir, a lid having at least one drink opening and a closure for the hydration reservoir, and a tube extending from the lid through the handle and towards the mouth of the user. The hydration system provides enhanced benefits of hydration in a discreet manner without requiring that the user sacrifice freedom or mobility.

Abstract: A safety goggle writing utensil holder comprising a pair of safety goggles; and a writing utensil holder. The writing utensil holder is integral with the pair of safety goggles such that a writing utensil is removably-secured via the writing utensil holder. Further, the writing utensil holder is horizontally-oriented on the pair of safety goggles. The safety goggles are used for light construction tasks, optionally having ventilated frames for heavy construction and fixed, soft frame welding goggles. The writing utensil holder comprises a deformable spring-loaded clip having at least one tension fit or at least one contour-molded fitting.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an equipment storage device includes a refreshment portion comprising an insulated cooler. The equipment storage device also includes an equipment portion coupled to the refreshment portion. The equipment portion defines a space for receiving at least a portion of equipment. Further, the equipment portion at least partially covers the portion of equipment when received within the space. Additionally, the equipment storage device includes a user attachment portion coupled to the refreshment portion. The user attachment portion includes straps for securing the device to a user's body. In one implementation, the device includes a pouch coupled to the refreshment portion. The pouch is configured to receive the equipment portion when the portion of equipment is not receiving within the space.

Abstract: A system of odor control comprising a combination pack which functions as a chamber for human odor adsorption wherein a connected or detachably securable flexible funnel may be stowed, stored, deployed and/or used independently further comprising a detachably securable odor adsorption means, a detachably securable odor filtering means, a pocket, a fastening means and a vent located about one or more portions of said pack and/or said flexible funnel wherein said product may be located about the user and/or used to surround a portion or substantially all of a user while hunting to reduce odor that would normally alert game. One or more vents may be adjustable and used to regulate airflow and/or allow the user to enter, exit, or expose a portion of the user or the user in entirety and/or an item from the flexible funnel at a desirable moment of activity.

Abstract: A system for allowing an archer to temporarily position, place, and carry a bow when the bow is not specifically being drawn on a target. The system comprises two parts, a first part fixed on the bow and a second part positioned on the archer, typically in association with an article of clothing on the archer. The first part is a ball shaped component fixed to the bow. The user then wears a socket type clip, where the socket is sized to accommodate the ball by simply dropping the ball in for a quick attach and detach. A slot in the socket allows quick drop in ability, but is sized to secure to the bow as it swings in the socket during normal walking, hunting, climbing, or other shooting activities. The socket clip is preferably attached to the user's belt but may alternately be attached to the user's clothing, vehicle, or other stationary object for secure and tactical bow retention.

Abstract: A holster provides a carrier for removable storing a portable electronic device, such as a cellular phone, PDA or MP3 player, and a fastener for securing the carrier to the user's clothing or bag. The holster can include a fastener for attaching the holster to an article; a carrier attached to the fastener; and a docking station having electrical contacts for interfacing with electrical contacts of the portable electronic device. The docking station can be pivotable relative to the carrier about a pivot axis at an end of the docking station adjacent the electrical contacts. The fastener can be removable. The docking station can include a rechargeable battery electrically connected to the electrical contacts of the docking station for providing electrical charge from the battery to a portable electronic device when connected to the docking station.

A system and method for ordering the seating pad assembly for a transportation seat includes at least one terminal configured for entering an identifier indicative of a type of transportation seat purchased, e.g., a class of service; a server configured for receiving the identifier, determining dimensions of the seating pad assembly based on the identifier, and generating an order to acquire the determined seating pad assembly; and a communications network for coupling the at least one terminal and the server. The terminal may be configured in the form of a computer, a kiosk or a mobile terminal. The system will allow a purchaser of a transportation seat to either purchase or rent the seating pad assembly.

A system and method for ordering the seating pad assembly for a transportation seat includes at least one terminal configured for entering an identifier indicative of a type of transportation seat purchased, e.g., a class of service; a server configured for receiving the identifier, determining dimensions of the seating pad assembly based on the identifier, and generating an order to acquire the determined seating pad assembly; and a communications network for coupling the at least one terminal and the server. The terminal may be configured in the form of a computer, a kiosk or a mobile terminal. The system will allow a purchaser of a transportation seat to either purchase or rent the seating pad assembly.

Abstract: The present invention is a backpack with an integrated umbrella device with an umbrella portion that includes an umbrella with a shaft with a bottom section, a motor disposed on the bottom section of the shaft and a rechargeable battery to power the motor and a backpack portion with a rear and a top that includes a backpack, a funnel located within the backpack to accommodate the umbrella when the umbrella is stored in the backpack and to protect contents stored within the backpack from rain or water from the umbrella. The backpack portion also contains the motor and the rechargeable battery and a backpack shoulder strap that is disposed on the rear of backpack portion with a wire that runs inside the backpack shoulder strap and controls an up and down switch when depressing an activation button that moves the umbrella.

Garment 10 includes interchangeable holsters 40, attached to a body portion 11 at an angle so that mouth 71 of holster 40 is accessible over wearer's shoulder such as a water bottle or a long article such as a fishing pole extends over wearer's shoulder. Holster 40 includes guide means 70 to hold mouth 71 open and help guide the article into mouth 71. Articles are secured to garment 10 both during carrying and during use.

Abstract: A holder for compound tray and tools that includes a flexible sheet assembly that is removably mounted to a belt positioned around a user's waist. The sheet assembly includes a number of pockets with magnets designed for holding tools inside. Reinforcement members are mounted to the upper and lower edges of the sheet assembly to hold the sheet assembly in an extended position yet there are no reinforcement members along the lateral edges to still permit some flexibility of the sheet assembly. A tray holder assembly is mounted to the reinforcement adjacent to the lower edge. A tray holder supporting assembly, like cords, keeps the tray holder in a substantially horizontal position. Magnetic elements that are mounted to the tray and tray holder cause the tray to come toward the tray holder providing stability to the structure. Locking members can also be removably mounted to the tray and tray holder assembly to keep them together.

Abstract: This invention is a system and method for constructing a handbag, purse, carrier bag with hidden backpack capable of being converted into a jacket worn with backpack; alternatively, the backpack can be used separately as another smaller carrier bag or purse; this handbag invention contains a zipper system around the bottom half of the handbag that ends at the bottom center of the handbag which hides the upper third portion of the jacket. There are pockets located in the front center of the jacket. Drawstrings at the top of the handbag are loosened to create a waistband when in jacket form. The strap for the purse becomes a belt for the jacket by the use of clips on the ends of the strap, and d-rings attached to the handbag. This method and system is capable of transforming the jacket back into a handbag, carrier bag and purse.

Abstract: An anti-theft bag with locator has a bag portion with a flap portion that can be closed to secure the contents of the bag. A lock-locator is provided to secure the flap to prevent casual opening of the bag. The lock-locator also contains a GPS component that allows a user to track the bag if stolen or lost. In one embodiment a remote control turns the GOS functionality on and off. The position of the bag is displayed in real-time on a network enabled appliance such as a cell phone, netbook or computer. The lock-locator is a combination lock with rotating disks disposed within the circular perimeter therein. In one embodiment, the power source is located within the lock-locator. In another embodiment, a power source is disposed within the bag and is not visible. The front of the lock-locator may be esthetically enhanced by having initials, logos or other graphic.

The bag has opposed ends and a length therebetween; an opening is at one end for passing the folding chair to and from the internal area. The blanket has a primary portion and at least one flap. An end of the primary portion is coupled to the bag and extends along at least a section of the bag length. The flap is sized to extend from the primary portion beyond a bag end and is not directly coupled to the bag. At least one fastener is configured to selectively couple the blanket to itself when the blanket is wrapped around the bag.

Abstract: An electricity-generating backpack that is substantially lighter in weight, has the multiple springs replaced with one large spring whose spring constant can be adjusted in the field in seconds, and replaces a DC generator with a brushless AC generator that permits approximately 70% generator efficiency and the generation of up to 20 W of electrical power by converting mechanical energy to electrical power. A device is provided that always removes some electricity, but not too much, as necessary to extract large levels of the electricity while controlling damping by providing electrical damping circuits including a DC-DC converter designed to emulate a desired load at its input terminals. Additional electricity generating E-MOD devices may be used for generating additional power by hooking an E-Mod device to a generator and to the backpack belt at the wearer's hip and includes a wand that fits against the wearer's femur so as to move through a range of motion as the patient walks.

Abstract: The invention relates to a backpack including a main rear pocket adapted to receive a load and carrying straps configured to position and maintain the main rear pocket on the user's shoulders, whereby the main rear pocket is formed by the juncture of a first base panel, made of flexible material, adapted to be in contact with the body of the user, and of a second external panel, also made of flexible material, the first base panel being extended at the ends of the main rear pocket to form two closed side loops for passage of the user's arms, forming the carrying straps.

Abstract: A carrier system for use with a body armor garment that distributes the shoulder loads produced by equipment carried or worn by military or law enforcement personnel, away from the user's shoulders and comfortably to the hips. Heavy shoulder loads, which typically cause chronic back pain and can lead to compression of the spine, are significantly mitigated. The carrier system has a vertical back support and a belt for securing the device around the waist of the user. In addition to alleviating shoulder fatigue and spine compression, the device is light, comfortable, durable, adjustable and easy to maintain.

The lower compartment is collapsible into and expansible from the upper compartment.

A handheld switch remotely activates the motor. The device is worn as a backpack and has two removable padded shoulder straps. A detachable bracket allows the device to be attached to the rear structure on a vehicle, e.g. an all terrain vehicle or pickup. Abstract: A combination of a vest and a versatile, adaptable bag allows a person to comfortably carry articles, even while physically active. The vest is contoured to the shape of a person's body, limiting the jostling of the vest and integrally attached bag as the person moves. One advantageous feature of the convertible bag is that its size can adapt to the desired contents: the upper portion of the bag acts either as a flap for the lower portion, or as a vertical extension of the lower portion when the bag contents are more voluminous. Further, the vest portion sits high on the chest of the person wearing the vest. This increases comfort to the person by distributing the weight better, and reduces sweating, particularly during physical activity such as riding a bicycle.

Abstract: A backpack for storing and facilitating the use of a laptop computer by a user is disclosed. The backpack includes an enclosure having a front side, a back side, and at least one peripheral edge. The front side includes a laptop compartment flap that is hinged across a horizontal fold line and pivotable between a closed and an open position. The laptop compartment flap also includes a stop means preventing the laptop compartment flap from extending past the open position. With the laptop stored in the laptop compartment of the enclosure, the user may support the backpack in front of the user by the shoulders using shoulder straps, open the laptop compartment flap, remove the laptop and supported the laptop on an inside surface of the laptop compartment flap, with the weight of the laptop being supported by the flap and the stop means.

Abstract: A miniaturized attachment mechanism for attaching a lanyard to a cell phone, MP3 player or other portable device having a hole in its outer casing is disclosed. The miniaturized attachment mechanism can have one end permanently fastened to a lanyard, and can include a spring-loaded ball detent within a hollow shaft. The hollow shaft diameter can be about 3 millimeters or less, while the diameter of the ball within the hollow shaft can be about 2 millimeters or less. The hollow shaft can be inserted into the casing hole such that the ball detent secures the mechanism to the casing until a pin release is used. In another embodiment, the miniaturized attachment mechanism can include a 1 millimeter shaft having a groove at an insertable end, while the casing encloses a two hole E-ring mechanism adapted to lock onto the groove when the shaft is inserted into the casing hole.

Abstract: A golf ball carrier for marking or identifying golf balls. The carrier has coaxially aligned openings receiving opposing hemispheres of each golf ball. Each opening allows for marking of each corresponding pole of the golf ball. The golf ball functions as a wedge spreading apart the carrier during insertion and removal of the golf ball from its engaged position with the carrier. While the carrier engages the opposing hemispheres of the golf ball, the user is able to rapidly mark the corresponding poles of each golf ball with the desired markings. The carrier may hold the marked golf balls until desired by the user.

Abstract: The present invention is a flash light storage system for a backpack. The backpack includes a pocket attached to a strap of the backpack. A base of the flash light is secured within the pocket and a moveable joint is provided to connect the base to a headlamp that has a variable orientation to the base through the moveable joint. Preferably, the moveable joint includes a flexible neck having a retracted position and an extended position. The headlamp has a pocketed position when the flexible neck is retracted and the pocket is closed, and the headlamp has an exposed position when the pocket is opened and the flexible neck is extended from the pocket.
