    Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a tool holder 10 is provided for carrying a cutting implement, such as a pair of lopping shears 15, having a plurality of blades 16a and 16b attached by a pivot 18 to a pair of elongated handles 20a and 20b. The tool holder includes a support backing 12, containing a plurality of vertically extending slots 34a and 34b. A waist belt 32 may be passed through the vertically extending slots so that the tool holder may be suspended from the waist belt. A support frame 42 is also attached to the support backing. A rigid cap 14 for housing the blades 16a and 16b of the lopping shears 15 is fastened to the support frame 42 and the support backing 12. The rigid cap comprises a convex surface having a longitudinal edge 14a and a latitudinal edge 14b, wherein the longitudinal edge is attached to the support backing 12.

A third pocket for elongated substantially cylindrical objects such as drill bits, allen wrenches, hole punches, nail sets, files, and screwdrivers is attached to the first side of the support below the first pocket. A fourth pocket for holding an oblong tool such as a razor knife, wire stripper, fuse puller, ratchet, or pocket knife is attached to the front side of the second pocket. A fifth pocket for holding a writing instrument is attached to the front side of the third pocket. The tool holder is secured to the waist of the user by inserting a belt in a tunnel of material at the top of the support.

    Abstract: Auxiliary holder for releasably stowage of a tensionable measuring tape, comprises a back panel formed of leather or like material. The back panel has a front surface terminating in top, bottom and side edges. In one embodiment, a pair of slots are formed in the back panel after which a front panel is attached therebetween wherein a tight-fitting pocket is formed. The back panel also includes a rectangular notch or opening used to stow the cantilevered leg of the rear drop shaped clip of the measuring tape. Attachment of the holder to the user's body is via serpentining the user's belt through the pair of transversely spaced slots constructed in the back panel wherein the serpentining begins at one of the slots in which the non-buckle end of the belt passes through from the front surface of the back panel through the slot and thence along the rear surface of the back panel and out the other of the slots.

The two shallow members open so as to allow positioning a paintbrush therein, and the shallow members can be closed upon each in clam shell fashion to close the container. An opening is provided in the top wall of the container to allow the handle of a paintbrush to extend from the container. Each shallow member has a layer of closed cell foam material positioned along the inside of the upper wall of the shallow member.
